The Lipstick League - Week of 11.9.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

When you want to truly pamper yourself (as we all should do from time to time!), which products do you reach for?

G's answer: Believe it or not, I'm not a big pamperer but I really should be, because we all deserve it, right? When I'm feeling fancy and self-indulgent, I tend to reach for my high-end cosmetics, because I normally look at those and think to myself, "Naw, I'll save you for a special occasion." The most indulgent high-end cosmetic I own right now is my YSL Volupté Tint-in-Oil in the shade Cherry My Cherie. While I didn't pay full price ($32) for that since I got it earlier this year when Nordstrom was having a 10% off sale, it's still probably the priciest lip color I currently own. It feels like a cloud, it smells like peaches, and it delivers such a lovely flush of pink to the lips. It's a whole experience using that product, and I truly feel like I'm pampering myself whenever I take it out of its box (yes, I still keep it in the box because you know I don't want any scuffs or scrapes on that beautiful packaging!).

  1. When I want to pamper at home I start out of the shower with Neutrogena body oil then I get out my Bumble and Bumble hair products, then do my regular makeup but add Pure Tiffany perfume and my Diamond studs!!!

  2. I go for the higher-end stuff, too, when I want to feel pampered. I don't really do spa days or get facials or anything. If I want to feel a bit more luxe I'll usually grab a Lipstick Queen product and use that. (I am curious about the YSL lip tint, though. It sounds like a dream, from every description I've ever heard of it.)
