The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Has Landed in the US

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water at Walgreens
(retail: $8.99, 13.5 oz.)

After months and months of seeing European beauty bloggers rave about this one, I'm absolutely delighted to tell you that the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has FINALLY landed in the US!

Thanks so much to reader @rad_empties on Instagram for sharing the pic above, and @chibigirl626 on Twitter for sharing the pic below. Both ladies found this display at Walgreens this week (but I'm guessing it will be everywhere quite soon)!

If you have no idea what a micellar water is, or why so many of us are excited to have a new drugstore option, I break it all down in my review of the Simple Micellar Water HERE

And let's just confront the giant elephant in the room, shall we? These bottles bear a striking resemblance to the Bioderma Micellar Waters, which as we all know, have achieved cult status at this point. The 8.5 oz. Bioderma retails for $12.95 at Beautylish, while the 17 oz. Bioderma retails for $19.95 at Beautylish.  The Garnier Micellar Water comes in a 13.5 oz. bottle for $8.99 at Walgreens (plus, you know that Garnier constantly goes on sale at the drugstores and there are always Garnier coupons online and in the newspaper so, if you play your cards right, you'll never have to pay $8.99 for this one).

Are you excited that the Garnier Micellar Water has finally touched down in the US? Have you already tried (purchased in Europe)? I would absolutely love to hear from you! And YES, I will most certainly be reviewing this once I get my hot little hands on a bottle.

Thanks again,  @rad_empties and @chibigirl626, for the awesome sightings and pics!

    1. Thank you!! I'm so sorry I missed your tag (the Too Faced giveaway made things a bit crazy and I missed a ton of tags this week). xo

  3. I actually bought the regular one at Walgreen's. I already fell in love with Simple Micellar water. Surprisingly my husband has fallen for it also. But the Garnier is such a bargain and I will definitely keep this in my beauty arsenal. It left my skin feeling refreshed without residue.

    1. So how do you think this one compares to the Simple, since you have both?

  4. I'm so glad it's finally here! I buy so many bottles every time I'm in Australia. Nothing removes my makeup as well as Garnier's Micellar Water!

  6. OMG yes I'm excited to see that its finally waded ashore here! Going to be very interested to see how it compares to Simple, which is awesome stuff, and I think will be hard to beat, but I'm gonna give the Garnier a whirl! Thanks for the heads up that its finally here!!

  7. Omg this is amazing! A friend is going to Italy soon and I was going to get her to pick me up some and now I can stock up on other goodies instead!

    1. Yay!! Now you can focus on other Italian treasures! Might I suggest some Balmi lip balms? I know they're a UK brand but hard to find in the US (I'm guessing you can get in Italy). :)

  8. Just when I ordered two bottles on feelunique! Oh well. I'm in love with this stuff and at least on feelunique it's less expensive than the Simple one.

  10. I've tried the Simple and I love it so I cannot WAIT to try this one! I've seen plenty of reviews for Garnier but I settled for the Simple brand because I could get my hands on it..I'll make sure to come back and let you know what I thought :)

  11. Yeah! I grabbed one of these on my trip to Italy in July of this year. Its super gentle-I've been hoarding it just for removing eye makeup because I can use it on my waterline and it doesn't sting or bother my eyes at all. My HG is a micellar water by L'oreal that I picked up on a separate trip to europe a few years ago. It just works a little bit better to remove any makeup in a snap with no irritation. So glad to see the Garnier version over here now!

  12. I've almost forgot finished my first bottle of the Simple micellar water, bought a 2nd one and then discovered the wipes version...but I will have to get this and compare and contrast!

    1. How do the wipes differ from normal makeup remover wipes?

  13. I bought this is Europe when my Bioderma ran out and I find it to be very comparable! It doesn't burn my eyes like some micellear waters do and it removes my makeup pretty well, it's quickly become my favourite and I'm glad I don't have to ration it anymore!

  14. I'm intrigued about Micellar water but I'm a little worry that is going to break me out, I have acne prone skin :(

    1. Bioderma has a sensitive skin version.

    2. I have super acne prone skin and I've never had the Simple Micellar Water break me out. If anything, I think it actually helps my skin because it does such a good job removing makeup and dirt before I actually was my face. Hopefully, the Garnier version is just as gentle because it seems like a much better deal price-wise.

    3. You can look up products on cosDNA.com to reassure you they are safe for acne-prone skin =) I use the Bioderma micellar water and I know that one is fine. Generally something oil-free and with the texture of water will be ok for acne-prone skin! (Thicker texture products are what you should avoid).

  15. It's great to see more options easily found at the drugstore! That being said, the Simple is so good that I'm not sure I need to try this one.

  16. I am SO excited! I'm on my third or fourth bottle of Simple but I'm excited to try these :)

  17. Super excited. If they're at CVS they're game for a sale!

  18. I've been curious about micellar water for a while, but I'm so devoted to my double cleansing routine that I never picked up any of the ones available in the US... but, I think I just might give it a shot.

  19. Hi,

You've mentioned Bioderma in all of your micellar reivews. Any chance you'll be testing that one next for comparison? I know I'd like to hear what you think of the cult favorite since you've tried the new drugstore ones, and I'm sure others would like to know too! Thanks!

  21. When I was studying abroad in London in the spring of 2014 I bought this and I still have it! It's so amazing I'm so glad it's coming to the US!

  22. Of course! Right after I had my friend from Scotland bring me like 3 bottles of it this trip. Well, guess now there will be more room in her luggage for makeup instead of heavy micellar water next time!

  23. This is interesting! I'm now on my second bottle of the Simple one, but I've been seeing this around before the launch and I'm excited!

  24. I am going to have to try this since so many people love it. It does seem odd to me that it doesn't need to be rinsed yet pores are not clogged. I hope it isn't a leaky mess that the cleansing oil is.

  25. I'm really hoping this works. I've been wanting to try the bioderma one but never got around to purchasing it. Definitely going to go to my local walgreens and check this out!

  27. I finally saw this today at my CVS. It was 9.29, with no other incentives( extra bucks). I did get a 10.00 off 40.00 skin care coupon from the machine.

  28. little late getting here but after several reviews on youtube I went crazy trying to find this stuff in my area. Walmart had it but I was trying to finish off one bottle of makeup remover before buying something else ( oh apartment life how much you hinder my make up collecting habit) and has been sold out for about two weeks ( its 6 bucks at walmart btw IF you can find it there!!) and even though Target claims to have it I couldn't find one whiff of it being there. ( its 7 bucks at Target IF you can find hehe) finally I tried Walgreens and they had one very lonely looking bottle stuck on a shelf all by her lonesome I grabbed it and checked out, the cashier said only one? apparently its buy one get one FREE right now!!
