Four of the 18 shades in the new L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Nail Color line
The concept seems pretty simple, right? But what I find curious is that the "custom-tinted top coat" that "amplifies the color and shine" is clear for some of the shades, while tinted for others (you can check out all 18 shades here for a closer look).
Looking at the pic above, you can see that the top coat is clear for the taupe shade, blue for the lavender shade, pink for the pink shade and blue for the blue shade. So if these are supposed to amplify the color, why do some of the shades have a clear top coat, while others have a tinted tinted top coat? Will the the colors with the tinted top coats look more intense on the nails than the colors with the clear top coats? And why do some of the top coats match the polish colors, while others don't? So many questions!
I'm sure I'll eventually try one of these (and of course review it for you) but I have to be honest and say that I'm not always a huge fan of these double-ended polishes. This packaging style sometimes makes the polishes prone to drying out a bit quicker than traditional bottles (I'm looking at you, Revlon Nail Art polishes!), but maybe L'Oreal has found a way to fix that issue. At any rate, I'm always excited about new polishes so...yeah.
Any thoughts about this new line? I'd love to hear from you!
Thank again, @linsview, for the great sighting and pic!
Gimmicky or not I'm definitely going to try at least one. I would like to try a tinted top coat. I wonder what would happen if the top coats were interchanged?!?
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was thinking too, Robin! I mean, would something magical happen if I used the blue tinted top coat on the taupe polish? Lol! When L'Oreal has another 40% off sale, a few of these need to come home with me, at least just to satisfy my curiosity!
DeleteI agree, G, I'm not a huge fan of these double-sided polishes either. It'll be interesting to see what the deal is with the topcoat. Can't wait to see reviews on these.
ReplyDeleteYep, more often than not, this type of packaging fails me. But of course I still need to try some of these. Lol!
DeleteI wonder if these will take the place of the gel lacques in the permanent display? They're on clearance at different retailers so I wonder if they're going away. I'm sure you remember I didn't have luck with those...here's hoping these are better! :)
Ugh, I will NEVER ever buy another of those double-ended wands. The last time I tried one I ended up with white polish all over the carpet.
ReplyDeleteWe've had these in the UK for a while, I've not seen many review so I am curious to see what other think.
ReplyDeletei feel like the polish looks like two polishes stuck into a connecter and not a double ended wand? so maybe they won't have the problem the revlon ones did
ReplyDeleteTati actually gives a review on these and they look pretty amazing.
ReplyDeletethe wear time on these is amazing, tried one 3 weeks ago, and after first week of wear went to get SIX more!!! They are that good!!
