Looking at the ingredients, I know that some of you tend to avoid products that contain mineral oil, etc. And if you do, then this product is obviously not for you. But if you're OK with these ingredients, then by all means keep reading for more info about why I love this hand cream!
Made in the USA
First let me tell you that I'm certainly not the only one who loves this product. You can read the reviews on the Sally site here, and there's also a five-star review over on Makeup Alley here. Also, I posted a pic of this hand cream over on Instagram last year and I received dozens of comments from readers who also raved about it. I sort of felt like, "Where the heck have I been?" when I noticed that others love this too--I was late to discovering it because it's not located where the other hand creams are at my Sally stores. It's located where all of the other Proclaim products are, which is in the haircare aisle. So I never saw it until an employee recommended it to me.
So here's why I personally love it. First, the fragrance. It's sweet and coconutty, but there's a warm nutty note too that makes it just scrumptious. If you generally like foody scents, I think you'll love this, but even if you're not drawn to foody-type scents, I think you might enjoy the tropical feel of this fragrance--the nutty note keeps it from venturing too far into the "suntan lotion" realm, and overall it's just a soft, sweet, very pleasant fragrance.
Second, the texture. This is a thick lotion (see pics above) but it absorbs so quickly, leaving behind a soft, protective coating that is not greasy, sticky or oily. If you work in a field where you don't have much time to apply your hand lotion and wait for it to sink it, this will be perfect for you.
Third, I love that I can apply this and for several hour afterward, even after a few hand-washings, it still manages to keep my hands soft and moisturzied. Honestly, it's one of the longest-lasting hand creams I've ever owned. I really appreciate that since, during the wintertime, it feels like I'm constantly washing my hands and/or applying anti-bac and my hands get so very dry. This hand cream manages to keep my hands soft through cold weather and lots of abuse.
FINAL VERDICT: For under $2, this is truly a hidden gem at Sally Beauty. I've been reaching for this hand cream every day during these cold winter months because it lasts through multiple hand-washings and lots of abuse. Plus, I love that it absorbs so quickly, doesn't leave any greasy or sticky residue behind, and it smells absolutely heavenly.
Are you already a fan of this hand cream? I would love to hear from you!

Wouldn't be my first choice due to the ingredients, but very glad it works for you.
ReplyDeleteI found another hidden gem. Received a very expensive collagen serum in a beauty box and was thrilled with the results on my skin, so much so that I repurchased but kept searching for a less expensive alternative.. finally found this after a couple of months of searching: http://www.sallybeauty.com/collagen-serum/SBS-117438,default,pd.html#prefn1=brand&prefv1=DERMAC&start=6 works just as well or better and only costs $11/oz. The other brand was almost $50/oz and had to be ordered online.
Thanks for the tip! Will have to check that out.
DeleteI am using this right now and I totally agree w/you! It is a very good hand cream for the price. Living in the frozen north, I use a lot of hand cream and this has been working well for me this winter.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad to hear you're liking it too! :)
DeleteI love that you mentioned this! I bought this roughly 18 months ago due to some promotion at Sally Beauty. They had it sitting by the register and the cashiers were asking everyone if they'd like to purchase it for 99 cents. Yada, yada, you know how that goes. I rarely give in to those offers, but I went for this one. I absolutely love it!! It has an almost whipped texture that is hard to describe. So glad you love it too!
ReplyDeleteI have to go to Sally's soon anyway so I'll most definitely be grabbing this. It sounds exactly like what I need right now
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I'm going to definitely try this. It sounds amazing! And for that price, you can't lose. Thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely in to try this! I need all the help I can get! Thanks G.!
ReplyDeleteI got this on sale once and it is awesome! Smells good. Feels good.
ReplyDeletePicked one up today. Love it! Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm so glad you posted this! My hands have been so dry (to the point that I hate washing my hands, it just makes it worse lol) and my assorted lotions don't do much so I'm glad to find this. And the price is great! :)
ReplyDeleteHi G.! I ran out and bought this after I had seen your Instagram pic...and I love it! It's perfect for work, like you said, because it doesn't leave my hands greasy. And the price, seriously?!? You're right, this is definitely a hidden gem!!!
ReplyDeleteHave been using this for a while now and love it. Picked it up by the register for .99 like someone else mentioned above. Great deal.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite hand cream is L'Occitane but it is too expensive. What a wonderful alternative. It smells so good. It is moisturizing without being sticky and has staying power. What a bargain!!
