NEW L'Oreal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque System
(retail: $8.49 - $13.49 at Walgreens)
(retail: $8.49 - $13.49 at Walgreens)
It looks like there are about 28 shades here, and it's a 3-step system (primer, color and top coat). If you look to the left of the display, you'll see that the primer and top coat are sold together in a 2-pack ($13.49) and the polishes are $8.49. I'm not seeing any reference to a lamp here, so it looks like these are aren't true gel polishes, but rather gel-like.
Have you spotted this new collection in your area yet? Thoughts? (I have to admit I giggled a little bit when I saw the reference to "volumized nails" on this display, since I can't recall ever wanting more volume to my nails. Length, yes. But volume?)
Thanks again, Jemimah, for the great sighting and pic!
That "volumized nails" bit made me giggle too! What would that even mean?? Ha!!
ReplyDeleteCool concept. Volumized mail!??! Random.
ReplyDeleteToo funny, G! I thought the exact same thing when I walked into Walgreens tonight and saw this display!!! I mean really, what the heck does volumized nails mean?!? Probably some man in the marketing dept. thought of that one. Ha ha...;D
ReplyDeletegood one

ReplyDeleteIf it'll give me same staying power & glossiness as gel nails WITHOUT the lamp , then I'm definitely interested .

Hi G, I spotted this display at my local walgreens yesterday...Just to bring to your notice my display (it was the same display) had two bottles of each shade..so I guess there were 15 shades odd and not 28..Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't decided yet if I want to try these, but I saw them at Target today for $6.99 a bottle. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to Wags today, and they very specifically say no UV.
ReplyDeleteI saw this yesterday as well. There are not any 'wowzer' colors, to me. Meaning, there was nothing I have not seen before. I'm thinking 'so, I put on a base, then the color, then a top coat'. Naw....that's not new. I'm going to keep looking for reviews though.
ReplyDeleteI saw these today at my local Bed Bath & Beyond! The prices were better - the base/top coat was 9 something and the polish was around 7 (shocker, I know - something costs less in NYC). I'm intrigued by this!
ReplyDeleteI bought this last night! So far, I'm impressed! They look like a gel manicure. Have high shine. I guess the 'volume' comes from the thickness of the layers? I think a regular gel manicure is a little heavier or volumized than a regular? So if that is what they're basing it on...then it's true! We'll see how long it lasts. I think my favorite part is the quick dry. I waited about 5 minutes to test...and within 10 I was ready to go to bed and didn't wake up with smudges! Also removed easily with regular remover for touch ups! Like I said, so far I'm a believer...but we'll see if it lasts as long as gel with UV. Oh and I got mine at Target. $9.99 for the base & top and $6.99 for the color.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can say that my nails have become very thin from Gel and French polishes, from all the sanding and grinding, so I would love to have some thickness back, I tried this today and I looks very nice and pretty, but it is sooooooo important to let each coat dry before the next... good luck!!
ReplyDeletePurchased these the other day waiting to test out. I do have a home Sally Hansen UV Gel Kit, figured this is a safer UV-Free option. However it DOES NOT last as long as the gel. It chips like regular nail polish, application is thick and not very smooth. I would not recommend it. It has some
ReplyDeleteFalse advertising. It's just regular nail polish. I'm sticking to the UVGEL now until the next best thing comes out.
Horrible! ! What a waste of money. Didn't matter how many times I tried the system, it left a streaky ugly finish. I varied my dry time between coates, thickness of coates. Still streaky. No problems with the base or top coates, the colour how ever just came out thick, goopy and was drying before I had time to finish the third stroke. Disappointed.
