Spotted: e.l.f. Disney Villains 2013 Look Books

If you loved last year's Villainous Villains Look Books, I think you are going to LOVE the 2013 collection. I personally think these Look Books are soooo much better (and I loved the 2012 versions!). Huge thanks to longtime reader Kris Feral for these wonderful photos. Kris found this collection at his local Walgreens this week and was nice enough to share tons of photos with us. Take a look!

e.l.f. Disney Villains 2013 Look Books
(retail: $9.99 each at Walgreens)

Each Look Book contains the following:

1 six-pan Eyeshadow Palette (a different palette in each book)
1 Lengthening & Defining Mascara (black)
1 Eyeliner Pencil (black)
1 Liquid Eyeliner (black)
1 Essential Eyeshadow Brush
1 Eyelid Primer
1 Lip Color (a different shade in each book)

I just have say that many of you know that the e.l.f. Essential Eyeshadow Brush is my favorite affordable eyeshadow brush of all time. So you can image how happy I am to see this brush in these Look Books. Four back-ups are coming my way (as soon as I find these in my area, that is)!

  1. I like the look of all the palettes, but I'm kinda disappointed at the lip color in Cruella's kit. Where's the awesome vampy red? That woman may have been a sociopathic puppy hater (same thing, amirite?), but damn, she knew how to rock a red lip.

    1. Omgee, I know right. I was wondering the same thing about the Cruella kit. NO RED LIP!?! :/ haha

    2. I agree! Cruella INVENTED the red lip.

    3. It might be my monitor, but by the pics on the outside, it looks like they gave Cruella and Maleficent each other's lip color.

But yeah, I need all of these.

  2. Oooof, I can't believe I had these in my hands last night at a Walgreens over an hour away from where I live. Like a doof I put them back on the shelf! I liked Cruella and Ursula best as far as the shadows. Gotta agree with DPR in the first comment...wth?...where is the red?!

    1. What! You put them back! Why?!? Haha I've been searching high and low for these!

  3. Oh gosh, I think I need them all too... especially the Ursula and Maleficent ones, if only because they are my all time favourite Disney villains.

  4. I really want all of these too! But the walgreens closest to me (an hour away) never got the last sets...I wish they would put these online! But if my walgreens gets these I'll make the trek haha

    1. I feel like the Walgreens around me ordered more this year since last year was such a success. One of the Walgreens had 3 of the displays out and they were fully stocked so here's to hoping they will be more widespread this year.

  5. I just hope these aren't as hard to find as the ones from last year!!

  6. It's a nice idea but aside from Ursula the colors for each character seem off and poorly thought out. Cruella was all monochrome grey/black/white with a red lip, not a bunch of office-safe neutrals, and the Evil Queen and Maleficent should have had more purples and plums. It's like they made the palettes then just stuck a character on the box.

  7. G did you ever review the ones from last year?

  8. Oh, I need the Ursula one! I have the ones from last year. I love them. I still use them!

  9. Love the Ursula one. First time I've ever seen them. I was at Walgreens yesterday and saw some Tinkerbell OPI polishes and make up bags. Guess the Disney love is ongoing. Thanks for sharing Kris and G.

  11. Wow, I didn't know about these until reading this blog (I know, I know). All of them look great, I might just pick up a couple this weekend!

  12. Ooof, I NEED the Maleficent and Ursula ones! I don't know of a Walgreens around me that carries e.l.f.; I hope these will be available online! Or perhaps a Sighting Map for these? Wink nudge! :p

    1. I would definitely do a map, but I'm going to wait a bit to see if elf does a search page again like last year (they created a page that showed all the Walgreens locations that offered these). :)

    2. Oooo, I didn't know that did that! Fingers crossed!

    3. Elf does have a walgreens site locator up now. Told me these are not available in my location :-(

    5. The map told me that it's in my location and I went and got them! I got Maleficent and Evil Queen look books and the polish set. That Walgreens also had all the fantasy makers lashes, Disney Villains makeup bags, hair accessories, everything! New favorite Walgreens.

  13. I have the ones from last year but they didn't appear in my walgreens till October. I need the Ursula one now :)

  14. I never saw the ones from last year in my Walgreens, but I'm hoping we'll get these. Love the Ursula one!

  15. I really wanted the Maleficent one but after looking at the colors I decided Ursula was the way to go. Most of the colors look too neutral and and I have similar colors. The Ursula one is the only one with a bit of pop to it.

Comparing this to last year's I think I prefer my Maleficent kit from last year.

    2. I really liked last year's Maleficent kit. I won't know for sure until I see it in person, but it looks like this year's palette has more everyday shades in it. Just doesn't seem appropriate for "the MISTRESS OF AAALL EEEEVIIIIL!" :P

I'll probably go for the Ursula kit, too. I've been meaning to pick up some purples.

  16. The make-up bags are by Soho, the hair items (headbands & ponytail holders), and the fake lashes are by Ardell (I believe). Seen all of them today at my local Wags, but no look books or polish cube :/

    1. Aaaah thank you! I knew about the make-up bags (hopefully I'll have pics of those soon) but I didn't know about the Ardell stuff! Thanks so much for the tip!!!

  18. Honestly I like last years better. Now sure how they did a water color new vamped up villians look, I feel like the items in last year look book was better. Honestly I wasn't too impressed with the color payoff last year. I basically bought the cruella one for novelty. I do want these just for the novelty ofit, but I'm going to have to pass.

  19. I'm in central Cali and my Walgreens had everything (of course on the top shelf) so I picked up the look books.

  20. I snagged the ursula and maleficent ones and Wow. Last year's lookbooks were great but I didn't like the lip pencils or the lashes so I'm glad they got rid of those. The colors aren't the same, as I first thought. But WOW the colors for the maleficent book are awesome! The colors really pop and are so shimmery. My go to look since last year was the night look from at years maleficent book but I love this year's colors. I'm going to do a side by side search comparison of this year's vs last year's. Also, the liquid liner in the ursula book is NOT black, it's a Navy color called midnight

  21. I really want to go snag Maleficent! The colors are gorgeous in it, plus I get stuff I'll use after ~ (Won't use the mascara, I already have a holy grail mascara and I can't use liquid liner that isn't by Physician's Formula; they irritate my eyes otherwise :P )

  22. Is it weird I only want the Evil Queen one because I'm obsessed with Once Upon a Time...?

    1. Considering that I've purchased nail polishes solely for their names, I'd say that's not weird AT ALL! Lol! ;)

  23. I picked up all 4 palettes yesterday (Walgreens on 34th in NYC had a full display) also my display had nail art packs.. They had glitters and stones to make fancy nail designs.. Looked interesting.

The Es palettes are actually really nice. I love cruelly.. What a great neutral palette.. All shadows are buttery smooth. I wasn't too impressed with the Ursula matte colors.. But the green in the Ursula palette was so pretty. I think these are great.. I love the packaging but wish it wasn't so darn huge!!

  24. Just got back from Walgreens. They had these hidden but I asked to see them. They had a big note on them to save for "Saturdate" October 5th. The Beauty Advisor told me they will be on sale then, 25% off! This is in Cincinnati, OH so I don't know if every Wags is doing this, but it would be worth asking. I'm going to wait until then, even though it was hard walking out of the store without them. That being said, they are fabulous in person!

  25. Wish these were available in the UK :(

    1. I wish they were available to all of here in the US as well..when they say LIMITED EDITION and only one store carrying them, trust me it is not an easy feat to find them.

    2. Been checking here in Atlanta, Canton, Holly Springs area and nada! But I am not giving up. I like them all, not so much the Ursula, but nonetheless I am wanting to get my hands on these. Last time I found them, I shipped to a friend who couldn't, nbut not this time. I'm so bad!!

  26. Yes!!! I have to have at least two of them! Thanks for posting this G and thanks Kris for taking the time to share all these little gems with us!

  27. I saw that display in the BIG Walgreens on State Street in Chicago AND ALMOST LOST MY SHIZZ. I was grasping the packaging and folks were staring AND I GAVE NO EFFS.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The display at Walgreens Dumont NJ has only 4 or 5 of each Villain it it and it was sort of hard to find. So if you want them don't wait too long.
The shadow colors were nice but the lip colors on all of them were weird.

  29. I remember last year I checked all the nearby Walgreens that ELF listed would be selling the palettes and NONE of them were even selling them! Seven stores, and none of them had even heard of the products.

  30. I remember last year I looked at all the nearby Walgreens that ELF said they'd be selling these at and NONE of the seven stores even knew about the products let alone selling them! Don't know if I'm ready to risk disappointment again.

  34. I really don't think these are worth the money. The mascara wand has to much build up.My eyeliner brush was damaged. The eye shadow base isn't that great. The lip gloss was sticky.I liked the shadow brush. The eyeshadows were okay, but nothing special.Ill be taking the EvilQueen pallet back.I know I wouldn't reach for this at all.I only want a makeup case

  35. I was so excited to see that my Walgreens has these! And the nail polish set too! I live in a pretty small town, so it was a great unexpected surprise. (:

  36. If anybody that has purchased these or the Nail art sets can post the UPC code, you can then take them to a Walgreens and find out the closest location that sells them. Just ask the beauty advisor to look at the "inventory on hand section" in the computer and they can tell you. I have done this for my customers in the past for items my store didn't stock.

  37. Become friends with your Wags beauty consultant...I talked to her last week and told me the shipment would arrive this weekend (9/21)...went last night and complete endcap was full....Ursala was sold out but she referred me to another Wags one town over that would have them because it's not a real busy store....

  38. I finally got the Ursula and Maleficent look book and soho Ursula makeup bag yesterday after looking at every walgreens in my area on Saturday. The girl at walgreens yesterday found them for she was so nice. :0) I'm also wear the Maleficent look book today.

  39. I have been doing the location look up for over an hour punching in all different zip codes for Massachusetts and Connecticut and there is NONE. Is Walgreens/e.l.f. not fans of New England States or something? Any suggestions besides trucking all the way to NY?

  40. *violently sobbing* WHY DID THESE COME OUT IN SEPTEMBER INSTEAD OF OCTOBER? WHY AM I JUST NOW FINDING OUT ABOUT THEM? I was at Wal Greens yesterday and they didn't have any of this stuff. Last year they had the Villain palettes out in October and I got 2 or 3 of them. *epic sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  41. Walgreens in Las Vegas (the S. Jones Blvd location at least) still has these and the nail polish available! I just bought Cruella De Vil and Maleficent. No Ursula or Evil Queen that I could find though :(
