Guest Post of the Week, as chosen by Beauty Junkies Unite - I thought this pool water manicure by The Polish Playground was pretty cool!
The LE Alice in Wonderland palette from UD. I'm not a huge fan of UD.. but a rabid fan of Alice and the packaging is fantastic. I was really hoping they would do something similar with Oz, visions of pop up Emerald Cities dancing in my head.. but alas it was not to be.
ReplyDeleteAaah, that was such a cute palette!
Deleteoh gosh I remember those Lip Lickers! I am pretty sure I had the Raspberry and Cream duo, possibly a raspberry single too. They were quite coveted amongst my grade school peers! I would love to get several bottle of Love's Musky Jasmin cologne, yep, it was spelled that way on the bottle. It had a violet rounded, domed lid, and the juice itself was purple too. It smelled heavenly, a bit like Child oil, but softer and with more musk. My next door neighbor's older sister had a bottle and I'd steal a sniff anytime I went to her house.
ReplyDeleteOmg there's a FB page devoted to trying to get that Love's scent back! It only has about 20 likes so far but it's a start! :)
DeleteI remember those tins, too! Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteOkay, mine is a three-way tie, all equally coveted. First, Savage Bronze tanning mousse from Sally. Amazing. Discontinued. Mourned. Second, from the wayback machine, Almay fragrance (late 80's). It was in a frosted, oblong bottle with a peach cap, and the liquid itself was peach also. Just a soft, clean, delicious little day-time scent that was like the soft, worn-in favorite t-shirt of fragrances. And thirdly, Victoria's Secret Peach Hyacinth EDT (Back in the round, fluted glass bottles with gold cap, prob '91-'94ish). I loved it so much that I bought some on Ebay for a ridiculous amount of $$ and use it sparingly.
Like you, my "covet" items are from the past and I would be more than willing to pay quite a bit for the chance to use them again.
Yesss, I. Looked up those Village lip tins a few yrs ago when I was having an online nostalgia search and found that lot of people remember these quite fondly. My mom used to pick them up at a mom & pop drugstore around the corner. We had all except the doubles and the Butterscotch. My favs were Green Apple, and of course the Bubblegum hehehe! I totally loved that Almay frag you're talking about...I looked that up sometime ago and could never find any pics or old ads for it...glad someone else remembers it. I still recall the mag ad for that, it had a tan skinned woman with amazing beachy textured long sunkissed highlighted blonde hair with some dark roots. Lol, I sooo wanted my hair to be just like that ad. As far as the question, I wish Revlon would bring back the Internationals line of shampoos and conditioner from the late 80's/90's. I loved "Latin Ameirca", the ones with the blue label...they smelled like coconuts and really put moisture back into my dry permed/coloured 80's hair.
Delete*correction: oops, I meant to say late 80's/early 90's.
DeleteI TOTALLY remember that Almay fragrance!!! Oh how I wish I could smell it again!!!
DeleteBB: I totally forgot about those Revlon shampoos!! Wow, what an awesome blast from the past!
Oooh. There are a few things I'd like. The first would be the whole makeup artist set from Sacha Cosmetics. I'd get Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy in Sensual Sandalwood Fig. I can't find anything else like it til this day. I would raid Kiko Makeup Milano. I'd get all of Black Radiance's old nail polishes, and Sleek Makeup Blushes. I would also get Sam Fine's Collection for Fashion Fair. I'd buy one of everything from Iman Cosmetics, and Black|Up Paris.
ReplyDeleteI miss those old BR polishes too!!
DeleteFendi perfume. It was my signatue scent for many years. Started using it when I was young. The company discontinued it. Many of us have begged and pleaded with them to bring it back. They refuse to do so (foolish on their part). You can find it on ebay, but even half full bottles are going for HUNDREDS. I have a new (actually another older fragrance) signature scent, but I still mourn the loss of my Fendi :(
ReplyDeleteAaaah, I remember that bottle well!
DeleteI so remember and miss these too! Wonder whatever happened to mine? I had the strawberry one for sure!
ReplyDeleteI had the strawberry too! :)
DeleteOMG!! If I feel old now!! (I am 42) I remember those so well!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the good memories :)
We're the same age! :)
DeleteI remember those Lip Lickers. I'm sure I had cherry-cola and cherry. I loved those tins. As for something I'd want now, no matter cost or availability, I'm not sure. Food for thought ... I know there's something, though.
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you remember them too, H.! ;)
DeleteOmg, I left out some more shampoo. The discontinued St. Ives JoJoba shampoo and conditioner (they were typically sold shrinkwrapped together) and the Aloe Vera. The ones I'm missing were not the new formula variety from 98-2000, I mean the ones from the 80's. The original was just jojoba, later yrs they made it jojoba and raspberry, I think...not the same. they also had a green Rainforest varity from mid 90's that was really good. Man, I miss me a lot of shampoos.
ReplyDeleteYou're killin' me over here with these awesome "vintage" shampoos! I vaguely remember those! :)
DeleteBtw, I know I don't even have to ask if you remember Agree (the green formula to be exact). I just discovered that the Christophe moisturizing shampoo (sold at CVS) smells EXACTLY like it. You must give it a whiff!
A zillion years ago (aka the "90s"), Max Factor had tinted versions of their clear mascara called something like "Some Color" mascara. My lashes don't really need volume, just color to make them look long/noticeable. The stuff was brilliant and I've never found anything that replicates it. I'd buy up cases of black and brown. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteI remember these!
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the link and checked out the comments. There is a link to Village company to request the return. Also a link to where some dupes are already online.
Your wish may come true!
