Reader Results: L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombré Hair Color Kit

Last week I posted about the new L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombré kits and received lots of feedback on that post. In fact, reader Dawn was nice enough to share her thoughts about the kit she purchased, and even shared some "after" pics with us.

Keep reading to hear all about Dawn's experience with this hair color and see how it turned out when she used it...

Here's Dawn's comment (from my original post):
Well! I did it! I'm actually really pleased with the results. I bought the medium to dark brown kit and it was so easy. After about 30 min my hair lightened up to really pretty warm caramel color which is where I wanted to start out. I will probably go back in when the weather gets warmer and add some more highlights but for now, it's exactly what I wanted. The beauty of a kit like this is it takes all the guess work out. You just mix, apply and leave it on until your hair is as light as you wanted it. Awesome buy IMO.
I then asked Dawn if it was easy to keep the starting point straight all the way around her head (something that I thought might be difficult to do). Her response:
To answer your question, for me, it wasn't hard at all because I have very long layered hair. I basically clipped up the top layers leaving just the longer layers down. I then sectioned those layers in half and brought those two sections around in front of my shoulders and began brushing the bleach in. Once those long sections were done being coated, I unclipped the top sections and just kind of lighly brushed in more sparse highlighty pieces throughout. That was it! Easy peasy. To establish more depth in the gradiant, after I washed out the bleach, I dried my roots down to the midshaft and touched up my darker color focusing on the roots with my fav at home box color. All in all I am super happy. Like I said, I will add more highlights as the weather gets warmer but I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is nervous about bleaching their own hair.

I think it looks beautiful, Dawn! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences (and photos) with us.

Have you tried this kit? I'd love to know how it worked for you!

  1. I have to confess that the idea of ombre hair scares me a little, but Dawn's results are gorgeous!

  2. Phew ! I am so glad it was a good result! I ordered the same kit, and I agree it looks gorgeous!!!

  3. Wow, beautiful hair, Dawn! Thanks for sharing your experience.

  4. Wow, this looks so much better than my results! Mine is so uneven, and really brassy blonde on the bottom. THIS is how I wanted my hair to turn out.

  5. This is beautiful, some of the best Ombre I've ever seen! It reminds me of the great hair Drew Barrymore sported.
I do think with those less skill and less healthy and gorgeous beginning hair should be wary though, even most professional jobs look tacky.

  6. Ya'll are so sweet! Thanks for all the love :)

  7. Wow this looks so great! Congrats Dawn!!! I don't like ombre hair on most people but I think this looks absolutely beautiful! I guess you can say this is what ombre is supposed to look like.

  8. Dawn, you have beautiful, glossy hair. Glossy is a great word, isn't it?

  9. Awesome results! Dawn makes it sound very easy. And, the savings you get over going to the salon...Word!!!

  10. Very pretty and professional looking results

  11. Hey! I have medium blonde highlighted hair, and want the ends a lighter blonde, do you guys reckon I should try the Feria ombre 80 for blondes? Thank you! <3

  12. Thanks for sharing your story Dawn! I must admit, I had just seen the ad for this on Saturday, then when I went to CVS Drugstore on Sunday, and found out they were completely sold out, except for ONE BOX of the WILD OMBRE! Exactly the color I would have chosen for myself anyway! Fate?
I still stood around for about twenty minutes before finally deciding to go for it and bought it! But now it's been sitting here on the counter since because I've been a little wary about trying it.
Well, it's been sitting on the counter since I bought it, cause I'm still scared! But I think you're success might be just the push and inspiration I finally needed!
Thank you so much for sharing you're story and success pictures! You're hair looks great!

  13. thank you! this really helped!i hope it works on me

  14. I just did this ombré and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the result
