Spotted: Olay Fresh Effects Collection (BB Cream, Cleansing Tool and more)

Happy New Year, my lovelies! I hope everyone is off to a great start in 2013. I took a couple of much-needed days off from everything, but I'm back with lots (and lots) in store for you in the days to come.

Let's kick things off with this sighting, compliments of reader Cloé of Cloé & Coco. Remember when I first posted about this new collection from Olay when the BB Crean popped up on drugstore.com? Well as luck would have it, I came across this article offering a bit more information on this new line:
From Happi.com:

Olay Targets Millennials

Olay gets that millennials need skin care that keeps up with their 24/7 lifestyle. Therefore, the brand presents Fresh Effects ($4.99-$12.99), a full line of skin care products that "gives them everything they want, and none of what they don’t," according to the company.
A power brush, refreshing cleansers and hydrating moisturizers are designed to provide "unstoppable freshness" that lasts all day.
Olay Fresh Effects collection will be available nationwide in January 2013 where Olay products are sold.
The brand also rolled out a CC cream in 2012.

And right after I spotted that article, Cloé shared these pics of the display at Walgreens. Take a peek:

BB Cream! Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer SPF15 in Light To Medium  ($14.99)
Long Live Moisture! Moisturizer for Happy, Healthy-Looking Skin ($14.99)

As I said when I originally posted about this new BB Cream, I think it's interesting that it actually calls itself a "BB Cream Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer." This kind of removes the idea that this will be like traditional Asian BB creams, but it also makes me a bit confused because it can't really be a BB cream and a tinted moisturizer, can it? I guess I'll just have to add it to my list of "to try" products and see for myself!

Have you spotted this new skincare collection in person yet? Do you think you'll give anything a try?

Thanks so much, Cloé, for the great sighting and pics!

  1. Wow, at 14.99 I might actually try their brush! I've been kind of half wanting a clarisonic, even though manual exfoliation generally breaks me out. If it's 14.99 and breaks me out it'll just go back in the box and become next year's yankee xmas gift!

    1. I've also heard good things about their regular brush (the Pro-X advanced cleansing system). I think that one is only $20.

    2. Hey Phoebe, the Pro-X brush is awesome :-) I'm 28 & it works great for my combo skin. I only use it once or twice a week though, but I love it!

    3. The Pro-X brush is awesome! I've not tried the newest one, or a Clarisonic, but the pro-x works great on my combo skin.

  2. I agree. That is a great price for the brush. I have skin that MUST be cleaned really really well every morning and night other wise I break out terribly. I always pondered other brushes but couldn't justify the price tags. This might be worth a shot. I also love the bright colorful packaging for this line. It's nice and fun

  5. I just spotted the collection today and picked up their bb cream. It has a really nice smell, like cucumbers. Maybe since its fresh effects. I didn't see the exfoliator cleanser or the makeup wipes though.

  6. I got the cleansing brush today & the Bead me up cleanser. I already tried them both & am impressed! The brush is little, but made my face feel lovely. The bristles on it are rubber, their not like the bristles on the other Olay Pro X cleansing brush. These felt more gentle on my face than the Pro X brush. Which is a good thing, because my skin is pretty sensitive. The brush comes with a Shine,Shine Go Away cleanser. I gave it to my daughter. My skin is too dry for it. But it has a very pleasant scent and texture. I've been bothered by some of Olay's scents in the past. The Bead Me Up cleanser smells lovely also!

  7. I'm intrigued by both the brush head shape (perfect for the area near the nose) and the rubber bristles on the new brush... and I already love the Pro-X face brush (don't use it with the provided cleanser)

I haven't seen the collection on shelves yet, and while the CC cream is still too dark for my new-fallen-snow-pale skin (I correct with super-pale face powder over top,) I have noticed my skin is more even and clear since I started using it in November.
