Sneak Peek: New Wet n Wild Cover All Cream

A month or two ago, Wet n Wild tweeted that they were coming out with a new CC cream and I was so excited by the idea of it that I put a sticky note on my computer monitor reminding myself to get more info. Well thanks to reader noonish, I now have more info to share with you!
noonish writes:

Nylon mag has done it again! Their Jan 2013 issue showed off this little gem.

Wet n Wild Cover All Cream, $4, drugstores

The pic I took is kinda blurry, sorry about that, but the text says, "If you want your skin to look Instagrammed but are short on cash, this budget-friendly option is the one for you. It leaves even the shiniest skin matte (oil-absorbing powders will do that), while offering hydrating and brightening benefits thanks to a cocktail of skin-perfecting ingredients. Plus, it comes in 7 shades, so you are pretty much guaranteed a match."

A mattifying product that offers hydration and brightening, comes in seven shades and only costs $4? Sign me up!

Thanks so much, noonish, for the great scoop and pic!

    1. Looks like probably January since this was in the Jan issue of Nylon. Once I get confirmation, I'll post!

  2. I want to be excited but how deep will the shade range be?

    1. I have no idea, but I CAN tell you that most BB creams and CC creams currently on the market only come in 1, 2, 3 or maybe 4 shades, so 7 shades sounds very promising!

    2. I'm the other end of the spectrum and keep hoping someone will come up with one light enough!

    3. Hopefully they'll have you BOTH covered *fingers crossed* :)

    4. I have the same problem so I'm hoping for a shade for us pale girls haha

    5. I'm excited! I haven't tried the maybelline one which seems to be the only one that works for deeper tones. I understand cosmetic companies market to the masses, but as a dark girl, it always sent the message that "hey, we don't care about you" or "your skin tone isn't beautiful". Now that I'm an old lady pushing 40, I know it's hooey but when I was a teen going to the drugstore it was tough...the darkest shade was always "Rachel" or "toasted almond".

    6. Janki, if you're an ”old lady pushing 40” then I'm ancient since I turn 42 this week. Lol! ;)

    7. PS: and i'm very sorry to hear what you went through when you were younger. I'm even more sorry that deeper shades of foundation STILL don't exist in many drugstore lines today. I will never understand this.

    8. I say "old lady" in jest... although at times the younger kids at work do look at me oddly when we talk about "mix tapes".

    9. Wow, I must be "old as dirt" them since I'm 45 :) I always thought I was the oldest one who lurked around these blogs...haha. I'm anxious though too to see the review on this one as I'm very impressed with most of WnW's products, I enjoy most of the tinted moisturizers/western BB creams out there as a base to even out my skin tone to then be able to apply a foundation-type powder on top of them for flawless coverage but still look like myself.

  3. o0o0o so exciting! I can't wait for your review! I have been so impressed with wet n wild and how they are stepping up their game. And my bank account it happy too!

  4. Oooh, that sounds interesting. I definitely want to try it.

  5. Wet n Wild hasn't let me down with eyeshadows so I will definitely try this out. I appreciate that they made it matte because my combination skin can make my forehead and nose look shiny fast. Yay!

  6. I never bothered with WnW for Foundation or concealer type of things. But they have been reinventing themselves lately, so I'll give it a try. :)

  7. High hopes.. I do like their TM, it is one of the more highly pigmented I have tried, does not break me out (most do), comes in a color other than pink (LOL), stays around all day, and has a reasonable finish.. so many are serious oil slicks.

  8. They had me until I got to the mattifying, oil-absorbing part. My dry skin's naturally mattifying; I need all the oil I can get! I was hoping for something dewy :(

    1. Carol, have you tried the garnier BB cream? I keep hearing that is QUITE dewy (i.e. not for oily skin) which is why I haven't tried it yet! :)

    2. *ears perk up* Dewy, you say? No, I haven't tried it yet but it definitely sounds like something I should look into. Thanks for the rec!

  9. I bought Nylon just the other day and saw the mention of this product too, so exciting...I can't wait to try it! Although lately I've had 2 products help w my super oily skin (Winter doesn't change this) I use an oil control lotion from Jack Black (a mens line, but hey it works) followed by Palladio Wet/Dry Herbal Powder Foundation.

  10. Even though I said I was staying away from BB cream, I think I'll try this! It's only $4 what do I have to lose.

  11. Count me in!! I haven't been into the BB creams, but for $4, I think this is worth trying.

  12. For $4 I'd still pick this up to try it out.

  13. For $4 I will want to try this. I have not been thrilled with what I have tried as far as BB creams to date but hope does spring eternal! Hahaha!

  14. I hope these 7 shades have more than just ONE deep shade. I don't have much hope though. I'd probably do better waiting for the IMAN BB cream.

  15. I hate the feeling of makeup all over my face, mostly because it is so hot in Florida. I sometimes do want to wear something that would even and tone down my red cheeks. Are the cc and BB creams easy to use and light feeling? Even only to wear on a night out ...

  16. I love wnw eye shadows but most face products of theirs break me out or just don't look good. I love the loreal BB cream though so I think I'm just going to stick with that. Although that is a very good price for a BB cream, but that's what I expect with wnw.

  17. I'm excited. I hope they have a brown girl friendly shade.

  18. I love asian brand bb creams and I can't wait to try this $4 cc cream from wet n wild. Their products have been so good lately!!
