After I mentioned the other day that the new BB cream from Lumene was starting to pop up in drugstores, I decided to ask my contact at Lumene for some additional information about this new product. As you all know, I love Lumene skincare, so the idea of a BB cream from this brand sounds very promising. Here are the details in case you'd like to know more:

THINK: Discover the essential difference of an Arctic cloudberry-infused beauty balm.
WHAT IT IS: A multi-benefit, anti-aging must-have that works like skincare but acts like lightweight makeup. Finnish beauty brand Lumene is once again breaking new ground in the world of skincare. With its Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream with SPF 20, Lumene has taken the beauty balm wonder formulation one step further, enhancing it with anti-aging benefits. Developed with Arctic cloudberry, the key ingredient of Lumene’s Vitamin C+ line, the new Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream with SPF 20 not only delivers skin-perfecting results, but also delays signs of aging.
What separates this BB cream from the others? Arctic cloudberry. This amber-colored berry contains antioxidant-rich Vitamin C and offers superlative anti-aging benefits, while also rejuvenating and visibly brightening skin. Lumene is renowned for its expert formulations developed with only the most resilient Arctic ingredients to illuminate your natural beauty. The utmost efficacy of the Arctic cloudberry is unlocked by handpicking the berries when they are most ripe in order to deliver optimum levels of uniquely beneficial nutrients, which are infused in the new Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream with SPF 20 to achieve smooth, perfect skin.
The innovative Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream with SPF 20 harnesses the power of Arctic cloudberry to deliver six essential benefits: it brightens like a primer, evens skin tone like a foundation, hydrates like a moisturizer, corrects blemishes like a concealer, delays signs of aging and offers sun protection. In addition, this powerful cream uses Arctic cloudberry nectar to enhance skin’s luminosity and improve elasticity for an overall more youthful appearance.
Available in two shades to complement any skin tone, the Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream with SPF 20 can be used alone, after applying day cream, or under foundation.
WHAT IT COSTS: $14.99
WHERE TO FIND IT: CVS/CVS.com and Dermstore.com

My initial thoughts: considering the price of Lumene skincare, I think this product is very affordably-priced at $14.99 for 1.7 oz (and it will be even less if you wait for a Lumene sale, which they happen to run quite frequently at CVS and Walgreens). I'm skeptical that the two shades in this range will actually work for all skintones, but I can't say I'm surprised they're only offering two shades (I've said this before--most Asian and US BB creams on the market right now come in only handful of shade options, with the theory being that that they self-adjust). If this is a sheerer product, it could be forgiving and work for many different skintones, but I guess we'll see. The thing I'm the most excited about is that it sounds like this product contains ingredients that will help in brightening, hydrating and correcting blemishes, which is very promising. I also like that it's a little bit higher in SPF (so many BB creams lately are SPF15).
What are YOUR initial thoughts about this new drugstore BB cream? Will you be giving it a try?
Sounds good! But I probably wont be able to use it because of color selection
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good. I'd like to try Lumene products AND more BB creams too ^^
ReplyDeleteI've been using this every day since I bought this a little more than a week ago. It smells like orange juice! It's a high quality product, and I like that the packaging lets out a small amount unlike the L'Oreal anti-aging tube that dispenses product like acrylic paint. I only saw one shade, the lighter one, and it's a nice peachy color that blends well with my NC20 skin. It doesn't mattify, but it's shimmer free and very natural.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this i have the vitamin c face lotion which is my fav of all time! The only thing i wished it had was spf so tis is suer exciting to me with spf 20. the only worry is that my skin is so yellow toned im reallly hoping the colors will work for me. crossing fingers.
ReplyDeleteI almost bought it today but decided to wait and see if I can find any review especially yours.
ReplyDeleteI have used many lumene products and love them. I like medium to full coverage foundation and
I'm afraid this will be like other American BB creams that r just like tinted moisturizer. Would like to hear others feedback before I make the purchase.
My skin doesn't get along with some of the heavier Asian BB creams. My go-to BB cream has been the Lioele Have To Have Men's BB cream which is optimized for very oily skin, and now I mix that 50/50 with the Lumene because the Lumene offers more coverage. The Lumene offers more coverage than the big tube L'Oreal BB cream, but less than most foundations I use. I'd say its more like a high end tinted moisturizer than one of the heavier Asian BB creams, but it compares well with the lighter asian BB creams including the Lioele for men and a Japanese Shiseido sun protection BB cream I purchased recently.
ReplyDeletei bought two of these, they're buy one get one free at walgreens this week :)
