The Lipstick League – week of 9.17.12

The best beverage I've ever had in my life.
If I weren't concerned with driving you crazy, I probably would have written at least three full blog posts by now about my love of Tea's Tea Half & Half Green Tea With Coconut. Seriously, you guys would be saying, "OK, G., I got it. You love it. Stop already." But I just can't stress enough how delicious this drink is and how much I crave it on a daily basis (and for the record, I haven't received any free samples or any contact whatsoever with the manufacturers of this fine beverage). If you like green tea and you like coconut, this is the perfect marriage of the two. The perfect marriage. You can taste the green tea and the coconut equally, and it's not too sweet (it's actually sweetened with pure cane sugar and stevia). Every time I drink it, my face lights up like I'm on a TV commercial and then I lean my head back, smack my lips together and exclaim, "This is just ridiculous." I'm not sure where you can find it in your area, but I buy mine at a local Japanese market here in San Diego (Nijiya Market if you're in SD) and it's about $2.50 per bottle. Worth. Every. Penny.

Lipstick League Question of the Week:

Your three favorite fragrances, name them…

G's answer: This is probably the most difficult LL question I've had to answer to date. If I absolutely have to narrow it down, I'm going to go with three fragrances that I've been wearing consistently for the longest amount of time, which means I haven't come close to growing tired of them yet. Chantecaille Frangipane, the original China Rain from Body Time (seriously, this is the first China Rain fragrance ever made, so any China Rain fragrance you've smelled not by Body Time is an imitation), and Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune. But I also have to give shout-outs to Demeter Snow, Philosophy Baby Grace, Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess and Fresh Sugar Lychee which are all consistent, go-to fragrances for me. Oh, and an extra special shout-out to Diesel Plus Plus Feminine as we head into winter because it's my favorite milky, powdery, sweater-wearing scent of all time (and it's super cheap to boot).

  1. Hmmm... picking 3 is hard. Let's see, my all time favorite (although I rarely buy it because it is so expensive) is CocoChanel. My 2nd, which is no longer available, is Notorious by Ralph Lauren. So because I've had to start shopping for another fragrance, I'm between Jennifer Aniston's and Beyonce's (don't remember the name, darn!). One is clean and fresh, which I love, the other dark and mysterious, which I love more. Well, I guess that decision is made!!

  2. The one and only fragrance that I ever wear is Philosophy Amazing Grace. It's so soft and clean smelling. I have tons of other fragrances, but this is the only one that I've been wearing for years and that doesn't give me an awful migraine. I get people all the time telling me how fresh I smell and then ask me what I'm wearing. It's truly an amazing fresh scent.

  3. Pick 3 fragrances? Yikes that's hard. Ummm I don't usually use designer makeup like ever but I admit I only buy designer fragrances. I have to say my top 3 is Gucci Envy Me, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue (perfect for summer!), && DKNY Be Delicious. Runner Ups are Victoria Secret Be Sexy Now 2008 L.E, Dior Addict 2, && G by Guess. Omg that would be so cute if you wore G by Guess since we know you as G lol

  4. OMG Fresh's Sugar Lychee is my number one fragrance ever. I just rediscovered it in my toiletries and I have no idea why I stopped wearing it! I think it just got lost in my many moves recently. Nonetheless, this is seriously the best/most unique fragrance I've ever smelled.

  5. Does the coconut in the half and half drink taste like coconut water or coconut flavoring? And is the green tea like matcha flavor or like green tea leaf flavor?

  6. I guess I should start w/ Lolita Lempicka the original, as I always have a bottle (and a back-up) in my stash for over 10 yrs. now. Karma by Lush is up there too. French Lime Blossom by Jo Malone has become a fast favourite of mine. I purchased a bottle this summer and it is just a very classic clean, fresh scent. I recall somewhere in the past on this blog that G. has said that Linden Blossom was a fav. scent (I love it too!) So G., if you haven't checked this one out already...I think you should. I just gotta throw in 2 more for good measure...Black Opium by Auric Blends, and Pure Grace by Philosophy eau de parfum NOT the natural spray which I think is lighter than eau de toilette. :( Unfortunately it seems to be getting discontinued. Btw- I looooove Teastea in Grren Tea Jasmine, and the Rose which I think is a black tea blend. Been waiting to try the coconut blends, but have yet to see them in my area. Think I may contact the company to see the nearest place that may have it.

  7. P.s. Lóccitane makes a Linden bar soap, the square shaped Bonne Mere variety. I placed an order to stock up on my other fav perfume Labdanum, when I noticed the linden soap. They were out of stock at the time so I went w/ Honeysuckle, have yet to use it though.

  8. P.s. pt2- I have just one more fav frag to add, if I may (sorry)...Prada Infusion D'Iris. I adore this scent however, it fades away wayyyy to soon. I received a sample of the newer Prada Infusion D'Iris Absoloue from Bloomingdale's which is supposed to be the same but stronger and w/ some vanille in the base. I'll see how it goes. *fingers crossed*

  9. My favorite is a Limited Edition scent from Victoria's Secret, Very Sexy Now The Beauty of Brazil. It has an exotic smell. I love it. It is very expensive on eBay, but I still have an unopened bottle thankfully. My everyday scent is Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things EDP. I have not had the best success with fragrances; however these two work very well with my body chemistry. I am looking for an apricot frangrance since apricot is one of my favorite scents.

  10. My 3 favorite fragrances would be Donna Karan's Cashemere Mist, Calgon's Morning Glory, and Bath & Body Works Sandalwood Fig (DISCONTINUED!). I cry alot over the last that was my scent.
