The other night, Mr. G had a craving for Japanese ramen and since ramen houses around here stay open until 2AM, he convinced me to get out of my PJs, jump in the shower and drive out for a little late-night snacky-snack. I didn't have much time to get ready, but I wanted to do something a little fun and dramatic since we never really go out for late-night dinners. So I grabbed my NYC IndividualEyes Animal Instinct palette from the Limited Edition Fashion Predator Collection (full review with swatches here) and got to work:

My five-minute nighttime eye look, after the jump...
For this look I used two shadows from the palette: the champagne (far left in the pic above) and green (far right in the pic above),
This look took five minutes to create. Here's a step-by-step:
1) Using my fingers, I applied Milani Shadow Eyez jumbo pencil in 01 Winter White from lashline to brow as primer, and also a little bit on the inner corners of the eyes as highlighter.2) Using my e.l.f. Essential Eyeshadow Brush, I applied the green shadow from the Animal Instinct palette over the entire lid and blended up into the crease. I also lined my lower lashline with the same green shadow using the sponge-tip applicator that came with the Animal Instinct palette.3) With my EcoTools Bamboo Eye Shading Brush, I applied the champagne shade from the Animal Instinct palette in the crease and then blended upward to the brow bone. I also applied a bit of the champagne color to the inside corners of the my eyes.4) No eyeliner at all on the upper lashline.5) I filled in my brows using Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Dark Blonde.6) I applied two coats of NYC Big Bold Mascara to upper and lower lashes.
And that's it!

DeleteThat is super pretty, the green looks nothing like it does in the pan. I had this palette in my hands just two days ago but put it back because I have so many colors that looked similar... and so jelly on the ramen. We live in food hell, lol, nothing yummy here. I'm totally spoiled from living in "real" cities in the past, know what I am missing :(

I scooped this palette up & am so glad that I did!! I am always afraid tO use dark colors all over the lid, but this look is so simple & pretty, that I have to give it a shot. !!

DeleteAnd I think the key with dark colors on the lid is to not take the color TOO far up into the crease. That way, it doesn't look over the top. Good luck, hun!

I havent seen these in central New York at all. I love the look G. however the green at the corner of your eyes looks a little deeper than the center of your lid...did you do anything special to creat that?
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it just appears darker due to the way the flash on my camera captured the shimmer. I didn't do anything special in the corners...it's just the same green all the way across the lid. :)

DeleteOMG, getting out of PJs to get late night ramen with your man sounds like so much fun! You guys rock! And you're lucky to live in an area with great food & diversity! And can I just say, your 5 minute late-night makeup looks GORGEOUS! I mean, c'mon -- that would take me half an hour. I did note with interest that you used the light color (champagne) for your crease -- I've just started really getting into makeup in the last 6 months (thanks partially to NouveauCheap & frmheadtotoe) and I thought most people use a dark shade for crease area? However you did it, it looks amazing -- thanks for sharing!

DeleteAnd i'm thrilled to hear you're getting back into makeup (I adore Jen!!). As for the light color in the crease, I only use it on top of the darker color that's already there, just to soften it up and blend it into the brow bone. Does that make sense? I don't think I could pull off wearing JUST a light color in the crease. :)
