The Wednesday Question (dream product edition)

If you could create one "dream product" that would instantly appear on drugstore shelves TODAY, what would it be?

I would create a powder foundation that's 100% comparable to my beloved Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF50 powder foundation. The packaging would be sturdy, come with a quality sponge applicator that never sheds or crumbles, and the case would be a soft, seafoam green color (lighter and more pastel than Clinique or Paul & Joe). The formula would be free of every controversial ingredient and it would also be cruelty-free and vegan, so that everyone could use it no matter what their requirements. It would come in 20 shades to accommodate the fairest to deepest skintones, and I would price it at $7.99 and it would always go on sale for BOGOFREE at all three major drugstore chains. Oh, and it would never go out of stock or be discontinued.

  1. I want that! How do I vote for your dream?

  2. Oh god, I'm always looking for my dream product: A foundation with a natural, dewy appearance that moisturizes but doesn't end up looking oily, and one that covers and ultimately erases old scars, unevenness, and spots, and doesn't cause breakouts or itchiness. I'd want it to keep my skin looking moisturized in winter, and not streak in summer if it gets super hot. No fragrance. Not tested on animals. No parabens or other weird/questionable ingredients. A good price. A wide range of shades would be nice, too. And there would be a display set up with testers near natural light so people would swab some on and see how it looks outside of funky fluorescent lighting. Or people could take home little product samples to test at home -- about a week's worth -- if they prefer that. (For the less impulsive shoppers.)

    1. The newish gel liner from L'oreal that I reviewed a while back is creamy and hasn't dried out for me yet. :)

  4. I want a concealer free of every controversial ingredient, cruelty-free and vegan that comes in shades SPECIFICALLY FOR WOMEN OF COLOR (sorry, I'm tired of having to scrimp and save and I know plenty others like me tired of it too) strong enough to cover my panda circles. It's super long lasting and wont come off without make up remover. It's $9.99 but it's always on sale for less. It's never out of stock and available at all major drugstores and chains regardless of where you are in the world.

    A girl can dream right?

  6. I have three!

    1. A lipstick that does not budge, yet is moisturizing enough to not cause peeling or prune-y lips. And it would come in a plethora of shades, especially brights!

    2. A pencil eyeliner that wears like iron, doesn't flake, and doesn't smudge at all once it's set. Deep black in color, not at all grey.

    3. A mascara that curls my lashes (mine are so stubborn, I have to use a heated lash curler), only needs 2 coats, and is volumizing and never clumpy. Waterproof, doesn't flake, doesn't smudge.

    1. My dream products are the same exact ones! I have short Asian eyelashes so nothing seems to work ^_^;

Also, UD 24-7 eyeliners are pretty good, but they are sooo expensive!

    2. Prestige Total Intensity liners and the Milani liners are both wonderful dupes for the UD liners. :)

  8. A foundation that actually matches my skin tone without having to mix it with any other shades. It would moisturize, conceal, and look like me but better. Kinda what a foundation is supposed to do. It would last until I washed it off, and it would feel lightweight, not heavy, with a matte finish. No oily skin :)

  9. More than a dream product - I want TESTERS!

  10. Something that will cover up every single imperfection but still look like natural skin, comes in a wide range of colors that self adjust for a perfect match, doesn't cause breakouts, cruelty free & vegan, no parabens or other controversial ingredients, and over time improves skin texture & tone. Oh and sexy packaging is a plus

Basically, good skin in a bottle!

  11. A moisturizer that ACTUALLY gets rid of wrinkles...

  12. Everyone's mentioned makeup so far. My dream product would be something sold in the U.S.,in drugstores, that would be comparable to Essence's Ready for Boarding Peel Off Base Coat. It's only sold in some countries overseas.Would be nice to see something like here in the States!

  13. G, I love your dream beauty product!! I would buy it! My dream product would be an oil-free, liquid, dewy foundation that didn't need to be re-touched, would last at least 12 hours even in hot weather and could only be removed with makeup remover. It would come in shades that would match everyone and cost $10.00. I have really oily skin and my makeup just slides off especially in the heat; I wish this was a reality.

  14. I would want a self-tanner that doesn't streak... And that doesn't have to be applied every day! And if it was cheap and came in huge cans with foam applicators and no scary ingredients or gross smell? I would absolutely love that.

  15. that seriously sounds awesome G...why is that too much to ask for from ANY cosmetic line????

  16. An incredibly lightweight light cover foundation or tinted moisturizer that is perfect for my combination-oily skin. Matte for my oily areas but still moisturizing for my dry areas. Something that can be beautifully applied with my fingers, doesn't break down easily and still looks good after 8 hours wear. But alas... this is why it's my dream product. Perfection like this cannot be obtained from one product in real life. *sigh* Good question.

  17. I like the cream that actually gets rid of wrinkles LOL. So I dream about finding a moisturizer that evens my skin tone, fights acne, gets rid of my freckles, "brightens" my skin, and erases ALL wrinkles! (Especially my pesky undereye lines that I can find nothing to help.) So this little miracle in a bottle would make everyone's skin perfect so no one would ever need to wear foundation. :D

  22. I would love a skincare product that could help reduce my acne dark marks without fading my freckles at the same time! I love my frekles, and I have a constant internal battle going trying to decide if getting rid of my dark spots are worth losing my freckles too! >:(

  23. I want something that reduces the appearance of my pores.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Josie try Sun labs tanning lotion in dark. It's tinted so its easy to evenly apply and lasts a week for me. They key is exfoliating really well prior to application.
I want a foundation that can hold onto my oily nose for 12 hours.

  25. I want something that makes my forehead and under-eye lines disappear right meow! I'm only 23! Too young for these problems!
