Ever since Jane Cosmetics started disappearing from drugstore shelves a while back, I have been periodically checking their Facebook page and Twitter account for updates. I'm a longtime fan of Jane Cosmetics and I've been holding my breath for many months, hoping they'd come back bigger and better.
Things didn't look good when many of their products started surfacing on sites like Haute Look, but then the other day I decided to go on the Jane website and here's what I saw:
I can't tell you how excited I was to see that announcement! (Tip: if you go to the Jane website, you can enter your email address to be notified of the exact launch date.)
So THEN, I visited the Jane Facebook page, and noticed that, in the comments section, Jane stated that their products will first only be available online, but will be in stores eventually (yay!). AND, they posted a sneak peek of some of the products in their new line:

Jane fans: are you excited about the big relaunch? What do you think of the products in these photos? I personally love that the colors look so wearable, and that pinky-brown gloss is calling to me!
I have a Jane nail polish from wwaayyyyyyyy back in the day... It's a gorgeous color :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally remember their polishes (I think I might still have one too!). I really hope polishes are part of their new line! :)
DeleteJane is still around? I used to love their awesome flavoured lipsticks from the 90s. Haven't seen this brand for sale in over a decade.
ReplyDeleteA decade?!? You must live in an area that doesn't have Rite Aids, huh? Their products were still in Rite Aid (and I believe Walmart too) up until last year. In fact, I remember blogging about when they disappeared from WALGREENS, which I think was only two years ago!
DeleteAnyway, you can still find their original line at Nordstrom Rack if you have any faves.
Hope that helps, and I loved their lipsticks too. :)
There are Rite Aids but they stopped carrying them around 2000 or so. I think the last time I purchased anything from this brand was a purple shadow in 2003 from a dusty clearance bin at an Eckerd that was bought out by Rite Aid and closing.
DeleteI used to buy this brand at Walmart back when blue lipstick was considered chic. I remember getting a coppery lipstick that tasted like pineapple for my Posh Spice Halloween costume.
I have a Jane blush from when the entire brand was on clearance at Walgreens and it's a beautiful coral color. I doubt I'll ever actually go through an entire pan of blush but I always wondered about what I would do to replace it if I couldn't use it anymore.
ReplyDeleteOooh, was it one of the regular ones, or one of the quilted ones?
DeleteIt's a quilted one, in Rose Silk (which is odd, nothing rose about it). The color is similar to theBalm Frat Boy, so if the miraculous does occur and I finish Rose Silk, I'll let myself buy Frat Boy as a replacement.
DeleteAnd their tinted lip balm product! I had Pink Quartz, I think it was, and it was the greatest MLBB product. I used it all up--too bad I wasn't into makeup back then and didn't buy backups.
ReplyDeleteLoooove their tinted lip balms. I think I reviewed a few a couple years back. I really hope they bring those back!
DeleteMe too!
DeleteI always like Jane, they were one of my favorite drugstore brands. Those palettes look intriguing, just the right size to tote in one's purse.
ReplyDeleteI agree! :)
DeleteSo excited, I love Jane! I still have a couple of nail polishes I bought back in high school. I'm like that lipgloss too!
ReplyDeleteI so hope they bring back the polishes!
Deleteomg! i remember them from when I was a pre teen! does anyone remember those little booklets/pamphlets they would give out with "how to's" & advice ??! I just came across one a few months back & i ended up keeping it! lol! I cant wait to check them out!
ReplyDeleteI think I vaguely remember those!
DeleteI loved those - almost as much as the cosmetics themselves! It was so cool, like I had a big sister helping me with my makeup. Haha
DeleteJane's eye shadow in Sun Gloss is my HG. It's the only one I've bought multiple times. If you want something specific, you can email them (the address is on their FB page) and they can check their warehouse for you. I wanted two eyeshadows but shipping was going to be 10 bucks so I said forget it. I'm hoping this shade will be available in July.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip! Have you tried Nordstrom Rack for that shadow?
DeleteOH! I loved the pineapple lipstick! Perfect gold color and yummy flavor!
ReplyDeleteOmg I loved that lipstick too!
DeleteSO GOOD. I was obsessed with that. In a black tube, right? I swear I could've eaten that stuff. (I probably did.) Good color too.
DeleteI still have the first makeup brush I ever bought from Jane. I miss their Halloween collections from the late 90's.
ReplyDeleteIt's been almost ten years since I've seen Jane products! I totally remember all the How-To pamplets and whatnot. Really hoping they bring the nail polishes back. The last place I saw them was at Kmart and again, that was almost ten years ago. I don't know if Wal-Mart here ever carried them.
ReplyDeleteOMG the pineapple lipstick was the best! I still have A LOT of their single shadows and regular (not quilted) blushes! I love them!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I think Jane cosmetics were one of my first makeup products (years ago)~ O.O I only own a couple of single eyeshadows though. Back then, I was not yet into makeup as much as I am now. Lol
ReplyDeleteLove love love!! I'm swept back to the days of being 14, reading Seventeen magazine, and buying Jane cosmetics. So excited!!
ReplyDeleteOMG I can't wait. I loved their lipsticks!! I've missed them since they vanished from Walmart.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the name of the brownish red lipstick that was popular on message boards? I had that color.
ReplyDeleteI liked their gel eyeliners, powder, bronzer, blush,... haha yay. i can't wait to try out their new products.
ReplyDeleteMelody I was thinking of that same lippie! I wish I ould remember the name of it - it was AWESOME. really happy to see jane making a comeback - hope it's as good as it used to be
ReplyDeletetheir blushes <33
ReplyDeleteI have always loved Jane- they were another stellar drugstore brand like Wet N Wild- I still have a lovely brown eyeshadow (Brownie Points)that I couldn't bear to get rid of in hopes of someday finding a dupe! Maybe it will come back?? Totally excited!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember buying random Jane products in high school, but never used them as an adult. I'll be interested to see what the reviews are of the new products!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have stumbled upon your blog! Jane was one of the first cosmetic lines I started with when I was getting into makeup... Way back in the day. :)
ReplyDeleteJane was one of my favorite brands in high school. I remember I always wore their white eye zing eyeshadow and a really dark matte lipstick by them too (which I'd never wear now XD). I also have been kicking myself for years for getting rid of a bright purple creme and an amazing silver holographic glitter polish. I'm most hoping they release new nail polishes soon!
ReplyDeleteThe Stay Calm foundation was *amazing* I was so sad when they d/c it. And the lipstick from the message boards? Browned Down Red. Sadly, it turned a weird coral on me. But there were some blondes who at the time, though it was the most amazing red ever.
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of this brand. So excited to try it out!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember the TINY lipsticks from Jane? I think they must've been samples. But they weren't free and they were sold at Rite Aid.
ReplyDeleteI had two and played around with them when I was a kid. I had a shimmery frosty beige that I think was called "Shrimpin" and then one I dunno how to describe, a pinkish MLBB shade that I can't remember the name of at all. I'd love if they had these colors in the new collection!
Hi G , is Jane still owned bt Estte Lauder group?
ReplyDeleteOh, I sure hope not. That will mean they aren't cruelty-free (don"t recall if they ever were). It's like Estee Lauder has a conglomerate going on and is taking the whole darn group to China. :/
DeleteOh my word! Jane. was like the first make-up I ever used! Craziness! I'm glad they are coming back.
ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE fan of the Jane Tinted Moisturizer! I've been holding onto my last tube afraid to use it!! Im hoping thats what I see in one of those pictures.
ReplyDeletewoop woop! Jane brings back so many memories! It was one of the brands I used to admire every time I went with my mom to the drugstore when I was about 11-12 and just getting into makeup. I think I had a brown eyeshadow and a purpley mauve lipstick from Jane that I kept for so long.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this, also! In my neck of the woods Jane has looong been gone! I too remember them from Seventeen magazine in my middle/high school years. My first purchase from them was a lipstick in Poppy because I obsessed over how it looked on the model! It was a bright red color; simply beautiful and fun. :)
