As a ridiculously huge fan of Sally Hansen polishes, etc., I've been wanting to try some of the new beauty tools ever since they hit drugstore shelves earlier this year. I've actually received over a dozen requests in the past few months to review these specific tweezers and, as luck would have it, they were recently sent to me for review. So today I'd like to show you the Diamond Slant-Tip Tweezers:
Sally Hansen Diamond Slant-Tip Tweezers
(retail: around $8)
I love the design of these tweezers and the fact that they come with a little safety cap:
These tweezers feel like silk in my hand. The wideness of the area that you grip makes them super easy to hold, and the no-slip texture actually feels soft (not bumpy) to the touch.
In the following photo, you can see the diamond particles that are supposed to enable "superior gripping power for ultra-fine hairs":
Tweezers are one of those products that are both extremely subjective and also extremely intimate. When you find a good pair that works for you it's like winning the lottery and, for me at least, it almost becomes an extension of your fingertips. When I begin my tweezing ritual, I get ZEN with my tweezers. You wouldn't know where my fingers end and the tweezers begin because I AM ONE WITH THE TWEEZER. Sorry to get so emotional, but I take my tweezing ritual rather seriously (can ya tell?).
So, because of the intimate nature of a beauty tool like this, please remember that my experience may not be your experience. Everyone's hair is different, and many of us have different techniques for tweezing hairs (grip, angle, force, etc. all play a role). That said, I didn't find that these tweezers were able to hold on to the finer hairs on my face, and it felt like even some of the more coarse hairs (around my brow area) tended to slip from the grasp of these tweezers.
I've been testing these tweezers for a few weeks now and, compared to my holy grail tweezers (from Anastasia Beverly Hills), these sort of pale in comparison. I'm very sad about this, because I'm always looking for a good back-up to my "golden" pair.
Again, your experience may be entirely different if you try these, but I just wanted to share with you that these were not a love-match for me.
FINAL VERDICT: These tweezers feel like a million bucks between my fingertips, and I love the aesthetics of this tool, as well as the little safety cap. However, I find that they don't tend to grasp or hold on to the finer hairs on my face, and sometimes I even have issues with grasping coarser hairs. Not a love-match for me.
Have you tried the Sally Hansen Brows That Wow Diamond Slant-Tip Tweezers? Was your experience similar to mine or were these a love-match for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I doubt this is a regional thing, but I found these on clearance at Walgreens for $2! Girls, always check your Walgreens clearance racks. My local cosmetic lady says they put things on clearance every day depending on when they are receiving new shipments or holiday items, etc!
ReplyDeleteThese seem like they're wide enough to be awkward. But I'm probably not in their target market, my brow hairs are pretty coarse, so I'm good with $1-2 tweezers.
ReplyDeleteI also lose tweezers often enough that I don't see myself spending any more, it'd be that more upsetting to buy another pair! :D
I tried these also and did NOT like them-took them back.I think part of the problem is the opening is not wide enough to work with & I have thought that about other high-end tweezers that I have tried. If you do try some that you like, please post!
ReplyDeleteI agree! These tweezers are definitely the best I've ever tried! I love the cap too!
