If you saw my post with the pictures of the new Maybelline LE Spring collections, you know there's been a bit of frenzy surrounding these lovely new products. So I wanted to give you some more information that has come my way in the past few days.
First and foremost, you have GOT to check out Mary's post if you'd like to see swatches of all the new polishes, plus great pics of some of the new makeup products. Oooh la la!!
Next, I want to give a huge thanks to my lovely reader ctee80 for this one: apparently Walgreens is printing out $1 Maybelline coupons on your receipt (good toward any product) when you BUY a Maybelline product. According to ctee80, it prints out EVERY time you make a Maybelline purchase. So, theoretically, if you purchased each product individually, you would get a coupon with EACH purchase, which you could turn around and use on your NEXT purchase!
Since all Maybelline products are 40% off this week at Walgreens, this would be a great way to get the new Spring goodies at an insanely low price. Especially if your display doesn't have the $1 tear-pad coupons that I mentioned in my post.
Hey, that's got me wondering: does anyone know if the Walgreens receipt coupon is a store coupon? If so, you could combine it with the tear-pad coupon and get a bottle of polish for just $0.99! Hum...can one of you confirm that for us? Thanks!
I am pretty sure the Wags catalina is a manufacturer coupon...... I'll look when I get off work and post if it's not....
ReplyDeleteI went to Walgreens today and 1. The 40% did not apply to the LE stuff ( only the $1 off) and 2. No Mabelline coupon printed.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the coupons -but I've purchased 4 Maybelline products? Boo.. =(
ReplyDeleteI purchased Maybelline stuff today, and didn't get any printout coupons either. Also, I couldn't use the tear-off $1 coupon from the Maybelline spring display along with my Register Rewards. The cash register would only allow one or the other to be used, so I used my Register Rewards and I'm holding on to the $1 coupon. Boo, Walgreens!
ReplyDeleteSasha: Oooh darn. You're probably right--I bet it's a Catalina. Thanks. :(
ReplyDeleteJess: That is SO weird. I never have problems with buying LE products during a sale (remember all the hassles people were having trying to buy the LE WnW stuff last Christmas during 40% off sales?). The ad does NOT state any exclusions--it says ALL Maybelline products, so I would go back and request the 40% discount, and show a manager the ad. And sorry you didn't get a coupon on your receipt. Boo!
kali: Waaaaah! I'm so sorry to hear that! :(
Denise: OK, I wonder if this coupon is a regional or store-specific thing?? I'm sorry you didn't get it, and I had no idea you couldn't use a coupon while using Register Rewards! Admittedly, I shop more at Rite Aid and CVS, but how did I know not know about this policy? That sucks! :(
I went to Walgreen's today and got 3 of the new Maybelline LE polishes and one of the lipsticks. I got them for 40% off, plus I used 4 coupons from the tear pads, and I received a manufacturer's coupon from the register. I wonder why others aren't getting the discount or coupon. (I'm in northern Michigan)
ReplyDeleteThe printout coupon could definitely be a regional thing...I'm in NYC and sometimes the sales and promos here are different. It was weird with the Register Rewards/$1 coupon thing...when the cashier put in one coupon, it would cancel out the other. I just assumed I'd be able to use both, but no big deal. I know with CVS you can combine Extra Bucks with manufacturer's coupons; I guess Wags isn't the same. Thanks for always keeping us up to date with all the good sales and coupons. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a Wags near me. I'd have to drive pretty far out to get this deal, and it's just not worth it right now. I might stop by CVS soon and pick up Firefly since I'm still in love with it.
ReplyDeleteI got my Target sample of Fit Me. It's all 18 shades, all peelies. There's not quite enough in each sample for me to tell which one is my color, but I have a hunch.
I just went to Walgreens and bought three of the new nail polishes (they're super pretty) and decided I need to buy the other three soon too. Really really beautiful colors. <3
ReplyDeleteThey rang up at 40% off, but I have had problems in the past with limited edition stuff not ringing up at that price and usually the cashier will manually change the price for me if I show them the ad.
I did get the $1 off coupon and it is a manufacturer's coupon, so you can't use it with the tear pad one, unfortunately.
Still, getting three of the new Maybelline polishes and the Sally Hansen Mint Sprint I've been meaning to get all for $10 made me pretty happy. :D
I went today and yesterday and got a coupon. There were also coupons on a display that I used. Getting to Fit Me Foundations for only $5.47 made my day :)
ReplyDeleteYou can use coupons along with Register Rewards IF you are buying more than one item. The trick with Walgreens (along with CVS) is that you must have as many items as you do coupons.
ReplyDeleteSo if you only wanted to buy, say, a foundation, you will need to add a small "filler item" in order to use both coupons. I usually pick up a single pencil, a box of Jello on sale, something like that...
It's killing me that my walgreens doesn't have them yet :( I also checked at Target, not there either.
ReplyDeleteI bought the Blue Brilliance nail polish the other day and got a $1.00 off coupon printout at the register. I asked the lady behind the makeup counter if they had any 1.00 tear off coupons and she had them behind the desk, so if you don't see them on the display, ask, they might have them at the counter.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Maureen is right, I was going to turn right around and buy a Maybelline Lipstick with the register coupon and the tear off coupon, but she told me I could only use 1 coupon per item. I might save them if they have a BOGO 1/2 before they expire, I think Wags would do that.
