Close-up pic of Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup

UPDATE: FOR MY DETAILED REVLON PHOTOREADY COMPACT MAKEUP REVIEW, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Just a little "PS" regarding the post I did a little bit earlier, my lovely reader AffordableBeauty just gave me a pic of the new Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup she purchased (if you missed my post of this new display, click here).

Here it is:

Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup

As you can see, there's a screen/netting that covers the foundation, and when you press down, the product come up through the screen. The display describes this as a cream-to-liquid foundation that dries to a powder finish.

Please let me know what you think of this product if you've tried it, and thanks again, Affordable Beauty for the great pic!

  2. I just bought the orginal one that comes in the liquid form, and found that it is way way way to shimmery for me, especially since I spend most of my day outside and in heavy lighting, which shows the shimmer like no other. If this is even the slighest amount less shimmery, I'll try it. I really like compact makeup, and I like photoready, but don't need to look like a disco ball. Lol.

  3. I just bought this the other day. I thought it would be similar to dream smooth mousse. I didn't really care for it, very light coverage and was not kind to my dry areas. I think I need to exfoliate before I use it and try it again. So far it's just okay.

  4. Yeah I used this today and I have to say I think it's going back to CVS :( It is too light of coverage for me plus the powder finish is not doing my dry skn any favors!! So that's just my first impression. It feels incredibly lightweight though like you're not wearing any. But it doesn't offer much coverage.

  5. I got this at CVS the other day and returned it today. As far as coverage and consistency goes (for reference, I have dry skin and mild rosacea), I liked it, but Vanilla was just a tad too pink and light on me and I know Shell would have been too dark. It also doesn't have the shimmery finish that the liquid PhotoReady has (which I liked, although I know many don't).

  6. AffordableBeauty: Thank YOU, honey! I really mean that. This is SO helpful. :)

michelle anne: Yeah, I've heard that complaint from a number of people. :( If you try the compact, I hope it works out better for you!

PCS: Oooh, the coverage is light? Um...that's kind of a deal-breaker for me. Very good to know! Thanks honey.

AffordableBeauty: Oh man, you too? PCS (above) said the coverage was light as well, so um...this doesn't sound like a good fit for me at all. I do like that it's got a weightless feel though. Sorry it doesn't seem to be a love-match. :(

JenJen: That's very good to know. I'm glad it doesn't have the shimmer like the original, and I'm also glad you didn't have issues with the texture or coverage, but it sucks when you can't find a good color match. :(

  7. Have they trotted out more colors for this line yet? I think the Photo Ready is one of the hardest to color match.

I was lucky, I found one that works for me (liquid) and it wasn't too shimmery. But not sure if I will make the jump to the compact.

  8. Ooooooh. I have trouble imagining how a cream foundation could be photogenic though, hmmm.
