The Wednesday Question

This week's question is sort of a tie-in question to the poll at the bottom of my blog (which, by the way, I encourage you to vote on--you can pick as many brands as you like per vote).  I can't wait to see your responses!

If you had to choose ONE drugstore makeup brand for ALL of your makeup needs for the next three months, which brand would you choose?

In other words, if you could only use ONE drugstore brand for everything--foundation, concealer, mascara, lip color, everything--for the next three months, which brand would it be?  My choice would be Maybelline, since I know I already love one of their concealers, eyebrow pencils and mascaras. Heck, I love many of their lip colors, nail colors, blushes, etc. so I don't think it would be difficult at all to survive on Maybelline products alone for the next three months!  So how about you? What brand would you choose?

  1. I would have to say Maybelline. I like if not love a huge chunk of their products. Adele

  2. I'd go for Maybelline - there is A LOT from the range that I love. Especially the blushers, eyeshadows, glosses, concealers, bronzers... the list is endless!

  3. hmm... it would have to be a toss up between Maybelline and Revlon for me. Soooo hard to choose!!! Why must you do this to meeeee??? haha

  4. I know a lot of people hate on Covergirl, but I love everything I've tried of theirs besides the eyeshadows. I think I could subside easily on them for 3 months, though. Great question!

  5. i would do Revlon although i am interested in maybelline now that everyone seems to agree. i havent used many maybelline products other than mascaras

  6. Wow...I think I have to say Sally Hansen. I don't really wear any other cosmetic outside of lipstick, I just don't feel I can be "bothered" by it. Basing my decision solely on lips it has to be Sally Hansen.

  7. I would choose Rimmel because I love their nail polish, eyeshadows(especially Spicy Bronze and Smoky Brun quad!), lipsticks, and eyeliners. Plus, I've heard good things about their Stay Matte foundation and powder and their bronzers, so it would be a good time to try them out!

  8. Honestly I would say covergirl. Practically all my makeup is from them. They do have some real stinkers but overall I think there are enough treasures to make it a favorite brand of mine.

Maybelline is also awesome though ;)
Full 'n Soft mascara makes my world rock.

  9. Oh, and I like their mascaras too!

  10. I've been wearing the dream smooth mousse non-stop because it's so easy to apply since it is in a compact and not a bottle, so I am going to go with Maybelline as well. I just don't have enough time to put on liquid foundation! Though I would probably have some trouble with the eyeshadow part, I would use any brand bot maybelline for that.

  11. L'oreal ^^ I love their mineral foundation and their eyeliners. I heard good things about their eyeshadows (HiP ones) and mascara. I don't really wear anything else!

  12. i say maybelline as well. love their brow pencils, full n soft mascara, and line stiletto. i don't have much luck with their foundations, but it's an issue with shades not formulas.

  13. stavroula: i love revlon too, but i hate their mascaras!

  14. NYX cosmetics... I love that brand

  15. @oldfashioned: I've never tried their mascaras, but yeah I've heard they're pretty bad! Can I choose revlon and cheat a little bit by keeping my maybelline or rimmel mascara? lol ! :)

  16. Oh this so hard! For makeup, probably Maybelline. But I think I'd have to switch up for skincare. I really love tinted moisturizer in the summer, so I'd have to go for my Neutrogena!

  17. I'm going to say Rimmel. I love everything I have purchased of theirs to date. I haven't purchased any foundations from a drugstore in years. So I'd have to either go without or give the Rimmel brand a try. But I'm not really keen on liquid foundation.

  18. I'm going to say Cover Girl, although Maybelline is nice too. Revlon has great lip products but I just don't like their mascaras! I love my Cover Girl Lash Blast (even if I can't get it over here!)

  19. I love my Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipsticks and my Cover Girl CG Smoothers concealer but if I could only pick one brand I would say New York Color.

NYC's Blushable Creme Sticks have become an everyday staple for me, specifically Pink Flash. I love their Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balms, Color Wheel Mosaic Powders (both the blushes and bronzers), Lip Gliders lip glosses, and the matte Sunny bronzer. Recently, I rediscovered their Ultra Last lipsticks and was reminded how much I like them, especially the one in Lilac Dream. Also, the NYC In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry nail polishes are my favorite drug store nail polishes. Love the brush, formula, price, and colors (especially the LE shades).

I don't often wear base/foundation or eye makeup so, except for concealer, I think NYC has me pretty much covered from head to toe.

  20. EEK I can't choose one!
OK I guess I'll go with Milani, no wait, I'll go with L'oreal. LOL

  21. Wow, I think I'd be screwed. Maybe Nyx. Nyx might have a pale enough foundation for me. I'm pretty happy with most nyx products: eye shadows, lip liners, lip sticks, nail polish, doll eye mascara... so if they had a foundation, I'd choose them.

  22. Max Factor, as I love their panstick (the ONLY drugstore foundation I've found that gives me full coverage!) and lipsticks, and I have enough leftover Pan-Stick to get me through 3 months :) Anyone know of a good replacememnt for Pan-Stick?

  23. Put me down under the Maybelline column, as well. They've really stepped up their game in the last year or so, except for the mascaras which I find mediocre compared to my beloved Cover Girl Lashblast.

  24. I have a lot of Revlon, so probably Revlon. But Rimmel is giving them a good run for the money since I bought a lot of that during the CVS 50/75% sale and am pleased with those purchases.

I was in CVS again today and bought even more of that sale stuff, I can't believe I'm still finding it! I got a gorgeous Almay Pure Blend blush for only $3.15, saved $9.44. I also got another L'Oreal juice gloss, a HiP shadow pencil in navy that I'm not sure I'll ever use, BUT IT WAS ON SALE! 3 NYC duo eyeliner pencils, and Sally Hansen was BOGO50 so I had to get a couple of nail polishes too. Oh and my CVS is clearancing out Fugi DVD-R's and I got 25 for $5.50 and saved $16.49 on that. It was a good day!

  25. Prestige, hands down. They make an awesome eyeliner that stays put all day, mascara that makes my lashes long without looking freaky and a limited edition blush that blends and doesn't budge, either. And its all cheap! Happy! Happy cosmetics! If only they made a lip tint I would be totally under their spell. Maybe they'll merge with Pallidio!

  26. i'd have to go with l'oreal. best mascaras, hands down, great eyeshadows, pencils, etc. revlon might be my second choice except i was not impressed with their mascara, and mascara is my must-have mu item.

but i have to say cover girl is also not a bad choice, especially if you want something a bit cheaper, and wet n wild also. sorry recessionista--i have not liked any of the maybelline products i've tried. but that was years ago and i never looked back so maybe i should check them out again.

boots also offers some excellent products, i think.

ha, that totally didn't answer the question.

  27. Definitely L'Oreal!! Cannot live without a good mascara and a really black liquid eyeliner, and L'Oreal delivers on both counts! And if I could cheat a little, I'd use Revlon lipsticks.

  28. L'Oreal for everything, for this scenario:-) I don't really wear anything except foundation, concealer and powder, and balm ['cept at home, I play Makeover all the time, and let/make Hubby decide what looks best - he's quite good! lol], and I need really yellow-toned stuff [I'm SE Asian]. I LOVE the texture of Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse and Dream Matte powders, too. But I think I gotta stick w/L'Oreal in this case.

  29. I might have to choose Maybelline, b/c their concealers & powder are great, their lip products are decent, mascara-wise they're good too. That's really all I use, lol.
