Lip liner: yay or nay?
Do you use lip liner? If so, is it just on special occasions or do you use it on a daily basis? If you're like me, you only use it if you're wearing red lipstick, which is known for feathering. Other than to prevent feathering issues, I find myself never using lip liner anymore (I used to use it religiously in the '90s). I honestly can't even remember the last lip liner I purchased. So how about you? Is lip liner still a part of your daily routine?
YAY. A thousand times, yay.
ReplyDeleteI fill in with it and then apply gloss over it.
I use a clear liner around my lips to stop the spread and feathering of stains and saturated glosses.
Yayayayayyyyy.
Big fat NAY!!! Whenever I think of lip liner, I get this mental picture of dry, flaky, chalky, matte lips with a big ring of lip liner! I know that a lot of people can make it work, but it's just not for me.
ReplyDeleteNay!
ReplyDeleteNay. I've got young lips and I've never experienced feathering yet. Maybe someday but not now.
ReplyDeleteyay! often times when i want lasting color, i line and fill in my lips with lipliner, then dab just a bit of lipbalm on top. lasts pretty darn well! and ive never personally had a problem with dry lips using just lipliner. there are some lipliners out there that are actually pretty moisturizing (to me, atleast), such as the jordana easy retractable lipliners.
ReplyDeleteyay yay yay =]
nay. i prefer to use the red lippies as a stain or just smooth them on. i don't really have feathering woes, and liner would only accentuate the way red lipstick wears off.
ReplyDeleteyes..I love how it stains the lips.. when your lipstick or gloss fades, especially after a meal, you still have traces of liner left.I use a lip liner that matches my natural lip color.
ReplyDeletenot usually. but i HAVE found that if you apply a pretty liner all over, and then balm over it, it makes the most natural, pretty lip look. i love the texture of it.
ReplyDeleteI love lip liner/lip pencils.
ReplyDeleteI use it a lot.
Right now my favorite is Nyx Lipliner in Natural (you can get this at Ulta).
I also have Too Faced Borderline Lipliner in Clear, which is nice.
Then I have specific colors like Pink and Black and Red, etc.
I try so hard to remember lip liner, but I hardly ever do unless I'm wearing red or sometimes if I'm wearing a nude to cover up the pigmentation in my lips. I love prestige and rimmel lip liners.
ReplyDeleteNAY!!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Just started using liner when I bought a mass amount of St Tropez on discount. There's a lovely pink I just love, and it stops the slight feathering I'm beginning to get.Guess these old lips will have to keep using liner now, but I don't mind, it works for me.
ReplyDeleteYay!! i have them in every color that I have lipstick. It gives me a more polished look and keeps my lipstick in place better. I've always used liner - that's the way I was the taught - and that's what i'll always do!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't really tried a lot... I think it helps sometimes b/c I have pigmented lips and I use a liner to kinda lighten my lips a bit. It helps to bring out the color of the lipstick. I only have one lip liner from Elizabeth Arden and I don't think I really need any more :)
ReplyDeleteYAY!
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteBUT..... must be matching your natural lip color! Or, use a clear lip liner, it actually works very well. There is one from E.L.F.'s studio line, i'm just loving it.
I bought the Revlon ColorStay lipliner in Clear intending to use it to prolong my lip color wear ... Haven't gotten around to actually using it yet :P
ReplyDeleteYah! I loooove my liner. Mary Kay nude is awesome and goes with everything! I fill with it also
