Thanks to my wonderful reader Kristen for the comment she just left on my drugstore sale alert post from yesterday. According to Kristen, at Walgreens this week all Rimmel polishes are 1/2 off (she got hers for $1.99) and all Wet n Wild polishes are 3 for $2! I didn't see this in the weekly ad, so definitely check your individual locations to see if you can spot this sale.
Also, she reminded me that Revlon foundations, concealers, powders, blushes and eye products are all $3 off this week at Walgreens (this was in the weekly sales ad) but it didn't occur to me that this included the new eyeshadow singles!
Ladies, if there is one item I would urge ALL of you to run out and buy this week, it would DEFINITELY be the new Revlon Luxurious Color Eyeshadow in Nude Slip (click here to see my full review). And for $1.99 instead of $4.99?? This is a no-brainer. I can't think of one skintone that this color would not work for, so if you've got an extra $2 lying around, get thee to your local Walgreens this week!
(Nude Slip is on the left and I promise you, it's 100x prettier when you put it on. I swear, you have GOT to see this one in person to truly appreciate it.)
Thanks again, Kristen, and big hugs to you for the info.
Happy shopping, ladies, and if you get Nude Slip, please promise me you'll come back here and tell us what you think!
I actually bought Nude Slip last weekend! I haven't worn it yet, but I have put it on (sound like a huge contradiction lol) and I love it so far. I love the way it feels! And the color is great! I may go check out the 1.99 e/s singles to see what else they have that I might want... just gotta limit myself! Only 15... *sigh* I wish!
ReplyDeleteOh my thanks a lot for this post. I am glad I check ur post like right now. nearly 12 am. hahaha. Woo hoo, I am so glad that i got sometimes tomorro to check out a walgreens near my school. Yeah!!! Got to check out wet n' wild. Plus Revlon. thanks thanks thanks
ReplyDeleteIt looks like I will be begging my boyfriend to drive his bass player home this week! Then stop for tampons. Perfect, my evil plan is fool-proof!
ReplyDeleteSo every time you post something about sales in various stores, I get extremely happy because I can get cheap cosmetics that work just as well as Sephora stuff, but my wallet cries because it gets significantly smaller because I end up buying so much! So thank you, but my wallet doesn't thank you, hahaha :D I'm definitely going to try Revlon singles, especially Nude Slip. I've been so obsessed with champagne-colored stuff lately!
ReplyDeleteI totally took advantage of this two days ago! I bought Nude Slip and that emerald color (can't remember the name) I totally going to go back and get some more!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone else confirm the thing about Rimmel and Wet n Wild polishes? I'm a little afraid of most of the cashiers at my Walgreens...so I don't want to try without knowing for sure.
ReplyDeleteBlast! Was hoping to score a few Rimmel polishes 1/2 off, but my Walgreens doesn't have them marked down. :( And they got rid of Milani, completely. (Before I could catch the sale, too!) And ALL the Revlon singles were GONE...ugh! I'm moving to where the drugstores FLOURISH and OVERFLOW with these amazing deals...somewhere out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I got the last Nude Slip at my Walgreens today for -$.01! It's my new everyday color - I love it. I also picked up one of the Rimmel polishes, only a few colors were on sale and the WnW were not on sale at my store. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteLOL... hello from another proud $1.99 Nude Slip owner! :) I bought it today. I've swatched it on my arm and so far I think it's an amazing color. You are right that it seems to be one of those that will work with many skin tones - if it works with my weird skin, it will work for lots of others. I can tell it is going to be one of my go-to colors - great to grab when I'm in a rush or on the weekend, when I just need a little something on the eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the alert! I stopped by my Walgreens and bought Nude Slip as well. I can't wait to wear it tomorrow. I hope it's not too much of a warm shade (even if it is, for two dollars... I mean, I can always pass it on to a friend). Thanks again! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I kind of want to try Nude Slip for just two dollars...
ReplyDeleteRimmel polishes 50% off?! Sigh, this non-paid internship I'm working, when will it end?! I love the sales you post!
I picked up Black Galaxy and the purple one you bought as well.
ReplyDeleteNude Slip wasn't there, but I'll definitely be hunting it down when I get another two dollars.
You're welcome for the tip!
Thank you sooo much for the sales! I check the sunday ads all the time but I'm always debating if I should go for it or not because I don't have anything in particular to get. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm just wondering though, can I use coupons from the sunday paper for the sales? Like the $1 off on Revlon products? Then I would get the eyeshadow single for $1.. would they be ok with it? I usually use those kind of coupons at Walmart or Target but I never tried it at CVS or Walgreens.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I went to Walgreens today and I got the Rimmel Polishes for $2.14 each and Nude Slip for $1.99. Nude slip is BEAUTEOUS, it is soo amazingly gorgeous, and my two Rimmel polishes are SO beautiful and shimmery, they look like they cost SO much more than I paid! Thanks sooo much! :D
ReplyDeleteAt Walgreens tonight I got the last Nude Slip, which looks perfect for me, and the last bottle of Steel Grey from Rimmel. <3 They were out of a lot of the other Rimmel polishes, but the sale lasts until March 27th, so plenty of time for them to restock.
ReplyDeleteI asked the guy there to price-check the Wet n Wild polishes and they were ringing up at normal price, and there was no sale sign, so I dunno about that one. I wish they were on sale. :( Maybe that's next week?
Thanks for telling us about these awesome deals! And thanks to Kristen for letting you know about them too!
I was able to pick up Nude Slip and two Rimmel polishes - Violet Metal and Gold Silk. I tried to get two of the WnW Megalasts thinking they'd be part of the 2/$3 WnW polish sale. Unfortunately, they rang up at regular price and I couldn't see anything about the sale in the circular or in the spring coupon book. There wasn't any signage either. Which WnW polishes are on sale?
ReplyDeleteHi again... just wore Nude Slip today, and it's really, really similar to the lighter bronze shade in the NARS Kalahari eyeshadow duo. On me, there's barely a difference. Thanks for the rec - it's a great cheap alternative.
ReplyDeleteI picked up Nude Slip and two others yesterday (the green and the purple can't remember the names). I LOVE nude slip. The color and feel are gorgeous! I was not as impressed with the other two but they are still nice especially for the price.
ReplyDeleteI had not been to Walgreens in a while and it defiently reminded me why I am a CVS girl. The beauty advisors in my Walgreens are trained to harrass you into buying stuff. She wanted me to buy this body wash that was on sale today only for 2.99 from some brand I have never heard of. I said no thank you, but the whole time she was ringing me up she kept going on and on about it. When she finally realized I was not going to bend she started giving me an attitude. I know she was just trying to do her job, she probably needs to sell X amount a day, but it was a little intense, lol. It's pretty much the same story everytime I go to Walgreens to buy cosmetics. Are all Walgreens like this or is just mine? I keep reading comments online about how people love thier Walgreens stores. Maybe I should go to the Walgreens in the next town over next time there is an good sale, lol.
Annette - I live in Boston and I have to say, I've had pleasant experiences with the beauty advisor at my local Walgreen's. She is so nice.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the Lip Smackers, so she took a whole bunch out for me and even recommended that I go with a less expensive product she had used that was on sale. The beauty advisor at my store is really knowledgeable about the products but doesn't really harass people. She seems to have really built relationships with the customers there, which is something that can't be done by just harassing people to buy stuff. She also opens up her register to other customers when there is a big line, helping the store as a whole not just the Beauty Department. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I think that my local Walgreen's beauty advisor is great.
I really wish she was there yesterday, because she probably would have been able to tell me which WnW polishes were on sale.
WOW, ladies!!! I am just THRILLED that so many of you picked up Nude Slip, and that you all seem to be loving it as much as I do!! That's incredible!!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it appears that many of you were able to spot the Rimmel polish sale (yay!) but no one so far has seen the WnW sale. :(
Also, Adina: Thanks for the dupe alert on Nude Slip. That's incredible! :)
TLNHTRN: Definitely try to use your coupons during sales like this! 99.9% of the time they'll work, so give it a shot! :)
Annette: I'm so sorry to hear about the "hard sell" at your Walgreens. The beauty advisors at my location never do that to me--in fact, the most I get from them is a "Hi, how are you doing?" which is what I LOVE! I never really need any help most of the time so I'm grateful they're not pushy.
Elocina: Glad to hear your sales associates are helpful! :)
I have went to Walgreen twice and still no WnW sale. I wish there is. Well the Revlon is excellent. However, does anyone know the original price for the single eyeshadow? I keep thinking that it is $4.99 so I will only pay $1.99. However, the Walgreen I went to has a different price. It was $5.29. I know it is not that much difference, but I would save more. So weird. I have to check back at another location then. The $3 off for Revlon is in the Ad, but no WnW...Boo for that. hee hee
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback ladies. I will try another Walgreens location next time. It's not so much that I mind the suggestions. It's that they are always crappy products they are obviously trying to get rid of and they don't leave me alone when I say no thanks. However, I am starting to think it must just be how that particular store does things.
ReplyDeletengocupham: Awww, I'm afraid that no one, except for the original commenter, has been able to find this WnW sale yet. :( And wow, I wonder why your Walgreens is selling those Revlon singles for a higher price than other locations? What a bummer! :(
ReplyDeleteAnnette: You are so welcome! You know, I think it's probably a location-specific thing, and it sounds like your location is a bit more heavy on the hard-sell than others. I'm so sorry to hear that--I know it can be such a pain that you end up dreading even going there after a while (that's how several of my local Bath and Body Works stores are--they bombard you the minute you walk in and they just simply won't leave you alone, which can get so frustrating!). Maybe you can mention something to the manager and let him/her know that other locations aren't like this, and that it's a bit stressful and off-putting to have someone trying to sell you products you're not interested in? Just a suggestion...you never know, it could help. Maybe she doesn't even realize that she's doing it. It could very well be a case where she's just really, super enthusiastic about their products and she finds you extremely approachable! Maybe next time wear a hat and dark glasses and she might leave you alone for a while? LOL!!! Anyway, keep me posted? I hope it gets better for you, honey!
I was out running errands yesterday and I decided to try another Walgreens. It was completely different. The beauty advisor did not even try to upsell me at all. She was really nice. So, think it is just a location thing. I may talk to the manager if I ever go back to the other one, but I'm not sure if it would matter. That location has been like that for years.
