Breaking News: CVS Beauty 360--you CAN use your Extra Bucks!

If you saw my previous post about the new CVS Beauty 360 from a few days ago (click here for the details), you know that I was happy to see high-end beauty products coming to CVS (online and also in select retail locations across the US) but very sad at the prospect of not being able to use CVS Extra Bucks to save money on purchases.

Well I've got two new pieces of breaking news that I think you'll be very happy about. First of all, the CVS Beauty 360 site has been WAY enhanced (compared to the site we talked about in my previous post). Click here to check out it.

Second, my lovely reader Nora just informed me that you CAN use Extra Bucks when making purchases at CVS Beauty 360!

From the official CVS press release:

Beauty 360 customers will also reap the benefits of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program, the largest retail loyalty program in the world, with more than 50 million cardholders. ExtraCare members earn 2% back on all purchases in the form of "Extra Bucks," which can be used at either CVS/pharmacy or Beauty 360. Additionally, Beauty 360 customers will earn "Beautiful You" rewards which can be redeemed for free signature services at Beauty 360 locations. Customers can also take advantage of the 'Best of Beauty, Guaranteed,' which offers 100% money back on all returns, ensuring a risk-free shopping experience.

Yes! Yes! YES! So to those of you who were less-than-thrilled by the concept of CVS Beauty 360, does the possibility of using Extra Bucks for discounts on high-end beauty products make you a little bit more excited about this new program?

Personally, I am pretty excited about saving my Extra Bucks to put toward a high-end beauty product that I otherwise couldn't afford (or want to pay full price for). How do you feel about this news?

  1. I checked out the website and was disproportionately excited to see there's a Beauty360 physical store in my state. Sadly, it's over an hour from me in a direction I rarely go. Maybe one day I will road-trip out there.

  2. I know this might take a while to explain... but what is this Extra Bucks thing? Will be be kept on my CVS card?
They are all opening in CA not where I live but maybe they'll expand if it is successful.

  3. Beck: LOL! I love that--disproportionately excited! :) Well, at least you can tuck that info in the back of your head for the next time you're in that area or itching for a road trip, right? xo

ndoodles: Ok, let me try to explain this as best I can! Extra Bucks work like this: When you're shopping at CVS, you will see a variety of products on the shelves that say, "Receive 2 Extra Bucks with purchase". This means that if you buy that product, your receipt will print out that you have 2 extra bucks. These Extra Bucks can be used just like regular money on your NEXT purchase. So you can basically get something that costs $2 for FREE, or put it toward something else that's more expensive and get $2 off. Now, Extra Bucks do expire, so you have to use them by a certain time (I think you usually have about a month to spend them). So if you happen to buy several items within a month and all of those items had an Extra Bucks deal attached to them, you can really rack up the savings and have 10 or 20 extra bucks to use toward something the next time you shop! Also, you accrue additional extra bucks just by shopping at CVS and using your CVS card--you don't have to do anything to get them except use your card when you make a purchase. Your extra bucks will ALWAYS print out at the bottom of your receipt, so just remember to keep your receipts or else you'll have no way of redeeming them on future purchases. Does that make sense? Hope that helps! :)

  4. I'm not too crazy about the video that automatically starts up. But the site does look better.
