So if you're itching to spend your savings on some expensive beauty products this weekend, stop yourself and consider some of these fun, low-cost alternatives first.
What's your favorite low-cost alternative to a high end product? I'd love to hear how you satisfy your high end urges. :)
Nyx is a great way to satisfy cravings :) I'm glad you included them.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I finally got some hard candy!
xoxo
Is the beach sand from Milani really a good dupe??? That's awesome :D Totally look that up later :D
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I was just browsing Nordstroms and Cherry Culture before I had to close the window. I wish listed everything instead. Being broke is so depressing lol.
ReplyDeleteNYX and Milani are such a great option to get great quality without the price tag. I also love Wet n Wild, but my favorite is the brown palette, Sand Castle I think is the name? I think I've gone through 2 of those already!
ReplyDeleteHey Phyrra! OMG, you did?!? Whoo hoo! I am beyond excited to see your reviews! OMG I cannot wait to see what you do with all those colors. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHey Papaya Bunny! You are never going to believe this, but with the exception of a few world-famous dupes like Milani Luminous Blush for NARS Orgasm, I discover all my dupes on my own! I have a strange skill for memorizing colors and textures and scents and when I spot something that reminds me of something else, I'm usually pretty darn close. I was given KenzoAmour as a gift, and the minute I sniffed it I knew: BBW Rice Flower & Shea. They smell SO much alike it's hilarious! Have you tried the Pink Sugar dupe I always talk about here on my blog, Love's Baby Soft Sugar Kiss? And also if you want a PS shower gel, Skin Below The Chin (sold at Rite-Aid) makes one that's called Spun Sugar that is spot on. (If you want more PS dupes let me know because there are a few others I can give you!). Oh, and I haven't actually tried Milani Beach Sand but I own UD Midnight Cowboy and every single time I'm in the drugstore and I see Beach Sand I think, "That looks sooooo much like UD MC!" so that's why I included it in this post. :)
Hey ndoodles! Oh gosh, I tried to warn everyone at the beginning of this post that these aren't exact dupes. Sorry if you missed that. I was really just trying to offer some fun, low-cost alternatives to high-end items. :) If you read my comment above to Papaya Bunny, I tried to explain that while I haven't actually tried Beach Sand, I do own UD MC and every time I see Beach Sand in the store it reminds me of it. So that's why I included it in this post. Hope that helps, sweetie! :)
Hi Marie--I agree, being broke sucks. lol. But look at it this way: It's MUCH easier to save up to buy a $4.99 item than it is to buy a $49 item. lol! I hope you can find some low-cost items here on my blog to help keep you feeling pretty. I purchase just about every single beauty item I use on a daily basis from the drugstore so if you ever need suggestions, just let me know. :)
Hey SYM! Oh I loooove Sand Castle too! The browns in that palette are just so darn wearable and easy to apply, aren't there? Great minds think alike! xo
Speaking of Bath & Body works harvest berry is AWESOME! Yesterday I tried leaves and it smelled exactly like a warm apple pie :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post! Bless! I have been thinking wishfully of several of these items (esp the Benefit blush, the MAC Lipglass, and the UD shadow) and will most certainly check out your alternatives. you're the best!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I haven't tried Midnight Cowboy, but Beach Sand really is lovely. It brightens my eyes! And I really want the Rice Flower and Shea now. At least the BBW semi annual sale is in a couple months. So yeah, thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeletehey, I love this post. I've only tried o1 milani eye shadow and I fell inlove with it lol.
ReplyDeletehappy halloween!!
Princess azure: Yay! I am so glad you like both of those BBW scents (I really, REALLY love Harvest Berry). :) xo
ReplyDeletebeautifulmonday: Thank you so much! You just totally made my day. :) If you end up purchasing any of these, I would, of course, love to know your thoughts. xo
Hana: Thank you!! And thanks for the info about Beach Sand. :) I would love to know what you think of BBW Rice Flower and Shea if you get it during the SAS. :)
Becky: Thank you, sweetie!! I hope you had a great Halloween too! xo

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, sweetie! xo
ReplyDeleteAw - no worries. I've heard really great reviews for Beach Sand so I'm prob gonna try it out anyways!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :D
Whew! I'm so relieved! Thanks, sweetie! xo
ReplyDeleteI love the Wet & Wild Palette, It last almost all day with minimal creasing.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you, Jan-nini! This palette lasts all day for me too, and I don't even need a primer. It's crazy, isn't it? :) xo
ReplyDeleteCVS sells an awesome dupe of princess by Vera Wang. It's called precious and it's only $5! Also , sugar vanilla fantasy smells EXACTLY like calypso vanille.
