Baby wipes: A cheap alternative to towelettes?
For a few years now, I've been devoted to Pond's Clean Sweep Cleansing and Makeup Remover Towelettes. I like these because, on the nights when I'm just too tired or lazy to wash my face, I can use one or two of these wipes while watching TV and voila! Makeup (and dirt) is gone. You don't need water, and you don't need to rinse your face after you're done. Awesome.
But what about the idea of using baby wipes as a low-cost alternative to towelettes? You can get an 80 count box of Fragrance Free Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes with Aloe and E for $2.50 right now at Walgreens. The Pond's Towelettes are almost $6 for a 30-count container. Hum...
If it's safe and gentle enough for a baby's bottom, it must be ok for us to use on our faces, right? But will it remove mascara? I might just have to try them and report back...

Fun tip! I'm interested to see how that works out. I get the Equate Facial Cleansing Towelettes at Wal-Mart; can't remember the exact price but WAY cheaper than the name brand and they work just as well and come in bulk. :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, digging the new layout!
Great tip, Jennie! Thanks! I will definitely report back after I try the baby wipes. Also, thanks for the feedback on the new layout! I tried so many before I settled with this one...I put a poll up on the blog to see how people feel about it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog so I read some of your old posts and random and just stumbled upon this one....I've been using baby wipes to remove my makeup for over a year now. It's certainly more cost effective and works just as well. I have very senstive skin and have never had a problem.
