I was fortunate enough to receive the LORAC 20th Anniversary Alter Ego Lip Collection in advance of release, so I'd like to share with you some swatches and initial thoughts about this set, in case you'd like to purchase it when it goes live Cyber Monday, 11/30, at 8AM Pacific (thanks to reader T.R. for that tip!) on the LORAC site here.

I obviously haven't had a chance to thoroughly test every shade in this collection yet, but I can tell you that I've tried every color on my lips, and they all have the signature creamy, hydrating feel to them that we're used to when it comes to the Alter Ego lip colors. Both the lipsticks and lipglosses have a soft vanilla fragrance and flavor to them, and both the lipstick and lipglosses truly feel creamy and hydrating on the lips.

As for pigmentation, I applied two swipes of each shade to my hand for each of the swatches you see above. Some shades only required one swipe for excellent pigmentation and opacity, but I wanted to be fair and swipe  all of them twice, so you can see for yourself exactly what you're getting in terms of opacity/pigmentation.

Additional thoughts: I think that if you're new to LORAC or already a fan or collector, this special set will provide you with a wardrobe of shades for any occasion, from nudes to vampy colors, from daytime to evening. There are warm tones here, as well as neutrals and cool tones. Really, there's something for every mood. Considering that the Alter Ego Lipsticks retail for $16 individually, and the Alter Ego Lip Glosses retail for $15 individually, this set is an amazing value. You're getting 20 FULL-SIZE lip colors here that have a combined retail value of $310 if purchased separately (and you CAN'T purchase seven of these shades separately because they're limited edition and exclusive to this set). So for $75 total, that's a savings of $235.
