PLEASE NOTE: Both of these lines are considered "masstige," which basically means prestige level cosmetics at more affordable price-points (in other words, they're more expensive than your standard mass-market makeup, but the packaging is nicer and they may possibly have better formulations than standard mass-market products). If you missed my previous posts about these two new brands, CIRCA Beauty is a new makeup brand by actress Eva Mendes (you can check out my review of a few products HERE). Nonie Creme Colour Prevails is a new makeup brand by the former founding Creative Director of ButterLONDON, Nonie Creme. I'll be posting my reviews of some Colour Prevails nail polishes and one of the eyeshadow palettes here on the blog later today. Both of these new brands are exclusive to Walgreens, including Drugstore.com and Duane Reade, which are both owned by Walgreens.
I want to thank reader Tiffany for sharing the following pics of the displays she spotted at her local Walgreens this week (and thank you to everyone who took the time to share pics with me over social media--I really appreciate that and I'm sorry I can't include all of your pics here--there's so much to cover that I tried to keep this as brief as possible!).

Keep reading for lots of additional photos...
Let's start wit the Colour Prevails display. Notice that many of these products have testers (there's a little "Try Me" sticker on the foundations, for example):

For product info and shade names, see the Walgreens website HERE. Also, I want to point out that the lip colors all have testers--reader @makeupismyjam on Instagram shared some lip color swatches HERE if you'd like to see.

Again, many of the the products in this display contain testers (see the little "Try Me" stickers on the foundations).

I'd also like to mention that ALL of the products that I ordered from the Walgreens site came fully encased in plastic (safety sealed), and it looks like all of the products in this display, minus the testers of course, are safety-sealed as well. Once again, you can check out my review of a few of the CIRCA Beauty products in the above display HERE. I'll be posting my reviews of some of the Colour Prevails products I purchased later today here on the blog.
Have you spotted these displays at your local Walgreens stores yet? Thoughts?
Thanks again, Tiffany, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!
Ohmigod those butterfly palettes...they're the reason I haven't already bought the new Hard Candy palettes... :::drools:::
ReplyDeleteDrugstore products are getting higher and higher $$
ReplyDeleteThose butterfly handles have got to go! IMHO. I do want to look at the whole display in person but have to say I haven't seen any shifting around in the makeup aisle in the local Wags so Idk if we will get them
ReplyDeleteSame here...I don't even see any signs of things being moved around at any Walgreen's here :(
DeleteI wish there was a way to find out which Walgreens now have these displays up. I've been striking out.
ReplyDeleteAny Walgreen's employee can do an item search using the UPC number from one of these products. G has part of the UPC from the green polish in her picture. I'm sure she'd tell you what the first number is. You would need the first 11 numbers, that last number doesn't have to be included in the item search but it also won't not help. It's how I found which stores in my 2 local districts had Loreal's masked affair. The employee choose the district they want to look in and it shows the stores and how many of that product they have and how many they've sold in like the last 7 days. Then if you have another nearby district they can pick it.
DeleteAh crafty!! I went to all the Wags and CVS between work and home and never saw the Loreal Masked Affair display. When I saw it at Bed Bath and Beyond that was the only one color all gone. I ended up stumbling into it hidden away at a grocery store on an endcap facing a wall...talk about luck! I will remember that trick of yours if another thing like that comes along...
DeleteI understand the concept of "masstige", however, it will be interesting to see if the average consumer does. I think when people see these prices they are going to turn away. I'm Not even sure if I'll indulge in either of these lines.
ReplyDeleteI did an informal tour around my city (took several months) to note exactly which Walgreens get updated with new stuff most often and had the most displays. Once you get a feel for which that will be (probably the biggest, newest one) then you know who will be likely to get the new products first.
ReplyDeleteAlso the store that are the busiest usually get all the new items first and the ones open 24hrs.
