It's that time, Revlon fans! The Fall 2014 Gucci Westman Collection has landed.
Many thanks to longtime reader Amanda of Fashion Footing blog for this one. Amanda spotted this collection at her local Meijer, which sometimes gets things a few weeks before other retailers. If you can't find this one in your area yet, just hold tight because it's only a matter of time before this is everywhere (Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, etc.).

A new CREAM EYESHADOW and more, after the jump...

Let's start with the left side of the display:

Probably the most exciting thing in this display is the NEW Luxe Créme in the shade Street Style (a subtle nod to the old Revlon Street Wear line?).
What is this, you ask? According to Amanda, it's a cream eyeshadow (there's one shade, repeated twice in the display) which she described as "a gorgeous emerald green glittery piece of goodness." Sold!
Next we have two NEW SHADES of Colorstay Lip Liners in 677 Fuchsia and 679 Soft Pink. I don't believe these are limited edition.
There is also one Colorstay Eye Liner in this collection in the shade 205 Sapphire. What's interesting is that #205 seems to be an existing shade that was discontinued some time ago--I guess they're bringing it back!

Your next questions are probably the same as mine:
Is this a teaser of things to come? Is there a whole new line of Luxe Créme cream shadows on the way?
I have no answers for you at this point. As of the time of this post, a quick Google search tells me nothing about these. I have no idea if there's a full line on the way, but I CAN tell you that sometimes Revlon releases products in their limited edition collections that never fully materialize into permanent products (remember the Super Lustrous Lip Balms from the Summer 2011 Summer Romantics Collection, anyone?). So while I would love to tell you that there's a full line of Luxe Créme cream shadows, I just don't know if that's the case. We'll have to wait and see...

Next is a NEW Photoready Primer + Shadow in the shade 517 Eclectic. I don't know if it's limited edition (I don't see the words "limited edition" on the packaging, so maybe not).

Moving on to the right side of the display:

We've got four NEW SHADES of Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lip Colors in Ready to Wear, Boho Chic, Stylist and Wardrobe. I don't think these are limited edition, but I could be wrong.

Confident
Confident
Confident is a LIMITED EDITION nail enamel that contains red glitter in a red base. Hard to tell if this is a true jelly or if it's a tinted base that won't deposit much color onto the nail. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

By the way, here's how I know that this nail color is limited edition. See how there's no number next to the shade name above? That's pretty much always the case when it comes to limited edition Revlon nail colors--the permanent shades are all assigned numbers as well as names.

Edgy

Edgy is another new LIMITED EDITION shade that contains purple glitter in a purple base. Looking at THIS PRESS IMAGE, it appears that this polish contains large and small hex glitter and tiny bar glitter.

Artsy

I believe that Artsy is a NEW PERMANENT shade, since it has been assigned a number (485). This is a blue glitter in a blue base. Looking at THIS PRESS IMAGE, it appears that this one contains large and small hex glitter and tiny bar glitter.

Bohemian

And lastly we have Bohemian, which I believe is a NEW PERMANENT shade (#585). This looks like a shimmery teal, but if you look at THIS PRESS IMAGE there may be a slight duochrome effect happening here.
Additional thoughts: I find it interesting that Revlon chose to highlight their Ultimate Suede Lip Color line in this collection, which seems to be a less popular line than say, the Balm Stains, Matte Balms, Lip Butters, etc. Looking back on the Fall 2013 Gucci Westman collection, we had those two limited edition Lip Butters that caused a minor frenzy around here. Remember that?? But perhaps there's more to this collection than what you see above. There could be additional displays, like last year (the Fall 2013 Gucci Westman collection had one display for drugstores and then there was a special Target display that contained additional limited edition products). I guess we'll have to wait and see!
Have you spotted the Revlon Fall 2014 Boho Chic Collection by Gucci Westman in your area yet? Thoughts?
Thanks so very much, Amanda, for the sighting, pics and info. I really appreciate it!
The crème eyeshadow sounds divine! And I was unaware of that eyeliner shade. I want it! LOL. I really like the nailpolish colors!!
ReplyDeleteAll the colors look amazing especially the cream shadow I loved the street wear collection from back in the day. I went crazy looking for the 2013 collection lip butters and finally found them at walgreens and got lucky since they were bogo half well worth the hunt. Now I must hunt for this display
ReplyDeleteThose eyeshadows! Those polishes! This collection looks amazing! Going to Meijer today to see if they have it. May the odds be ever in my favor! ;)
ReplyDeleteI need to find that cream eyeshadow! And that soft pink lip liner looks very pretty too!
ReplyDeleteI die! Want! All!
ReplyDeleteHeh same here!
DeleteThat Soft Pink lip liner looks gorgeous! I definitely want to get that :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so here's my story: I went to Meijer and they had this display. Yeah! Upon looking at all the items, I noticed the prices below each product. The polishes were labeled $9.99. Surely that can't be right, I thought. Took a polish to the price checker and yes, it rang up $9.99. Weird. Next up, grabbed the Luxe Creme eyeshadow. Its price was $12.59! Well now I know that can't be right. Its a single eyeshadow, right? Wrong. It was scanning at $12.59. Off to the service desk I went. I even grabbed a regular polish from the Revlon aisle to plead my case. The service desk guy (poor thing) called someone and they said to go ahead and give me the polish for $4.19 instead of $9.99 but since there are no other Luxe Creme eyeshadows to compare the price to, they said that is the correct price. $12.59. I said forget it! So, if anyone out there can please verify how much the eyeshadow is ringing up, that would be great. If Revlon is truly charging that much for ONE eyeshadow then I say they are insane and I won't pay it. But I'm thinking its just a mistake (hopefully). :D
ReplyDeleteCarol, sadly, I don't think this is a mistake. Amanda, who contributed the pics to this post, confirmed the same prices at her Meijer, and so did some other readers on instagram. My jaw dropped when I heard about this! $9.99 for a core formula polish and almost $13 for the eyeshadow is indeed comparable to brands at Sephora/dept stores. I don't know what is going on here, but I'll be VERY curious to see what the prices are like when this collection hits drugstores.
DeleteEven though I don't live anywhere near a Meijer, I know from posting about this retailer so often that their prices are very competitive. If the prices at the drugstores are even higher, that would be crazy. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
You're right, G, Meijer is always less expensive than Walgreens or CVS. In my area there is typically a $1-2 difference in prices between Meijer and other drugstores. I imagine this eyeshadow will then be upwards of $14 at Wags/CVS. And $9.99 for those polishes? There is nothing that special about them, trust me. If Revlon thinks they can start charging more just for LE or Gucci Westman collections then I'm not buying. Funny thing is, everything else in the collection is the same price as their regular products are. Eyeliners were $5.89, lipliners were $7.89, eyeshadow was $8.79.
DeleteOh snap! I am super excited for this to hit stores around my area! I want that Luxe Créme Eye Shadow
ReplyDeleteThank goodness my daughter works at Walgreens. That 15% will make buying that eye-shadow a little bearable!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!! I would love to know the Walgreens retail price when you spot it there!
DeleteOK, I wasn't going to say it, but I keep seeing this and thinking it: Does anyone else think that Olivia Wilde looks like Rayon (Jared Leto's character) from Dallas Buyers' Club on this display???
ReplyDeleteThe whole price issue, yup... not a mistake. Previous Gucci Westman for Revlon collections have been more expensive than normal but this one takes the cake. The polishes were indeed 10 bucks and the shadow 13 and I have a feeling those who pay full price will be disappointed. While the shadow looks really gorgeous in the pot I've heard that it is a pretty basic black with green shimmer. Apparently the formula is interesting but since it is a color I wouldn't wear much I will have to live vicariously thru others who buy it unless I ever see it marked down or 40-50% off.
ReplyDeleteThe nail polishes being 10$ I truly do not get. I certainly would have bought several had they been regular price but no way for 10 bucks. That's more than any other brand meijer *where I saw this collection ), currently sells including OPI and Essie.
Whoa seriously? Yikes nevermind then. I have China Glaze shattered shades that are probably similar, these don't seem unique enough for THAT price. Boo hiss Revlon!
DeleteYeah, I looked back at my photos and the Rio Rush polishes were 5.19 at Meijer this past spring, which I did pay even though it was more than the core price, but 9.99 for these is way too much. I can buy indie glitters for that kind of money.
DeleteI'm gonna have to search for some Revlon coupons because I'm on a spending freeze but I NEED that eye shadow!
ReplyDeleteSo the BBB I order from got a different kit than shown in this post it had everything but the single shadow..... not a mistake there was not even a spot for it so bummed....anyone else hear of this?
ReplyDeleteI also saw this at a couple of different retailers, rite aid and harmon in nyc to be exact, but there was no cream shadow, as iowa said not even a spot for it in the display. Weird.
ReplyDeleteMeijer by me got it last weekend for 9.99/nails and over 12 for the cream shadow. Walgreens just got it a few days ago for around 5.50/nails and 10 for the shadow. Polish is b1g1 at Walgreens right now. And the polishes outside of the teal are I'm deep colored jelly bases.
ReplyDeleteSecond post attempt. My cvs has similar pricepoints here in so cal. I paid just below 10$ for luxe cream shadow and the price for the polish was regular core price. Trust your gut. If you think a price has to be wrong, it probably is.
DeleteYes, in silverdale, wa fred meyers a compartment for the green shadow but in port angeles, wa rite aid - not even a compartment for the green shadow in the display. So disappointed to go all the way to silverdale and the green shadow is the only thing missing in the display.
ReplyDeleteI'm also in WA, not too far from Silverdale. This display just apppeared at Walgreens in Gig Harbor. It was full and I picked up the Steet Style eye shadow. Like many similar products, it's more of a black with a too-subtle super dark green shimmer. It looks like it has a micro-glitter or mica fleck finish but once it's applied, it's more like a black metallic and the glitter is barely visible.
DeleteThe good news is, all or most Revlon is BOGO 50% off right now. I got all four of the nail polishes for $5.29/$2.64. The eye shadow was $9.99 but the clerk dug around and found a $1 coupon code to apply.
I also got four core collection Ultimate Suede colors. Two were BOGO 50% off, two were clearance priced at 50%. Two of the colors I got seemed to be dupes for colors in the Boho Chic collection and those were around $10-$11.
