Last week I posted about the new L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombré kits and received lots of feedback on that post. In fact, reader Dawn was nice enough to share her thoughts about the kit she purchased, and even shared some "after" pics with us.

Here's Dawn's comment (from my original post):
I then asked Dawn if it was easy to keep the starting point straight all the way around her head (something that I thought might be difficult to do). Her response:Well! I did it! I'm actually really pleased with the results. I bought the medium to dark brown kit and it was so easy. After about 30 min my hair lightened up to really pretty warm caramel color which is where I wanted to start out. I will probably go back in when the weather gets warmer and add some more highlights but for now, it's exactly what I wanted. The beauty of a kit like this is it takes all the guess work out. You just mix, apply and leave it on until your hair is as light as you wanted it. Awesome buy IMO.
To answer your question, for me, it wasn't hard at all because I have very long layered hair. I basically clipped up the top layers leaving just the longer layers down. I then sectioned those layers in half and brought those two sections around in front of my shoulders and began brushing the bleach in. Once those long sections were done being coated, I unclipped the top sections and just kind of lighly brushed in more sparse highlighty pieces throughout. That was it! Easy peasy. To establish more depth in the gradiant, after I washed out the bleach, I dried my roots down to the midshaft and touched up my darker color focusing on the roots with my fav at home box color. All in all I am super happy. Like I said, I will add more highlights as the weather gets warmer but I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is nervous about bleaching their own hair.

Wow, beautiful hair, Dawn! Thanks for sharing your experience.
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks so much better than my results! Mine is so uneven, and really brassy blonde on the bottom. THIS is how I wanted my hair to turn out.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful hair, Dawn!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, some of the best Ombre I've ever seen! It reminds me of the great hair Drew Barrymore sported.
ReplyDeleteI do think with those less skill and less healthy and gorgeous beginning hair should be wary though, even most professional jobs look tacky.
Ya'll are so sweet! Thanks for all the love :)
ReplyDeleteWow this looks so great! Congrats Dawn!!! I don't like ombre hair on most people but I think this looks absolutely beautiful! I guess you can say this is what ombre is supposed to look like.
