Review: New Dial Naturals Tangerine & Guava Body Wash

When I first spotted the new Dial Naturals display, it pretty much "had me at hello". First of all, I love anything with pastel "Clinique green" packaging (I've always loved that color) and the minute I saw "Tangerine & Guava" I knew this body wash had to come home with me (like I mentioned in a previous post, there's another fragrance in this line called Plum Blossom & Almond Oil, which is also nice). I paid about $5.50 for this bottle at my local Rite Aid, but I believe it retails for $4.99 at Walgreens, so check around for the best price in your area.

Now that I've been using this body wash every day (sometimes twice a day) for some time now, I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Dial Naturals Moisturizing Body Wash in Tangerine & Guava
(retail: around $5, 16 oz)

I've never heard of the European Bioskin Institute before but, as the packaging indicates, you can read more about them here.

The product itself is a pearl white color (no artificial dyes) and the lather is amazing. Just a small squirt onto my bath pouf yields a great amount of lather, and the lather is so rich and creamy. But here's the thing I REALLY love about the lather: it glides across the skin. For lack of a better word, when this product lathers up in my bath pouf and I rub it against my body, it feels...cushiony. It's like my bath pouf just floats across the surface of my skin in a way that I have never quite experienced before with a body wash. Hopefully if any of you try this product, you'll understand what I'm talking about. It's kind of amazing and I swear to you, I've been looking forward to taking a shower every morning knowing that I get to experience that cushiony feeling again.

For some reason, Dial body washes tend to work exceptionally well with my body chemistry (see my review of the NutriSkin Cherry Seed Oil & Mint body wash) and this new formula is certainly no exception. I find this product to leave my skin feeling clean, but not dry, and it manages to help keep my skin feeling soft all day and into the night. The lather rinses easily off my skin, leaving no odd residue behind.

And the SCENT! My goodness this stuff smells divine. If you like fruity, sweet and tart body washes, I think you might be very happy with this one. It smells just like a tangerine and guava smoothie and I'm always tempted to drink it when I'm in the shower (of course I don't, but it makes me want to run out and buy a smoothie ASAP). Another thing I love about the scent is that, unlike some other drugstore body washes I own, I don't detect a "body wash base" scent in the background. It just smells like creamy, delicious fruit with no other competing  notes in the mix.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the new Dial Naturals line also includes hand soap and bar soap, and you can be sure that I'm going to pick up one of each in the days to come--I need more of this Tangerine & Guava fragrance in my life!

Have you tried anything from the new Dial Naturals line yet? Thoughts?

  1. I saw this in Walgreen's today and gave it a sniff...yum!! I would have gotten it if I didn't just buy a different body wash yesterday. I'm so glad you really like how it performs...I will definitely give it a try!

  2. You said "tempted to drink it" so funny!!! Sounds interesting!! ;-) I've been using Dove's VisibleCare Renewing Crème Body Wash (purple bottle) AND I LOVE IT! It's smooth, thick/rich and leaves your skin feeling so hydrated and SUPER SOFT! p.s. smells like your average Dove product... AMAZING! ;-) Great review -Leslie

  4. Just wish it was sulfate free. So hard to find a body wash without that is available locally to me, so far the only one I have found is very "herby" scented.... it works, but not terribly nice to use.

  8. I found this at my CVS the other day after you first mentioned it. It was on sale for $3.99. Which I thought was more than worth it once I took a whiff!! :) I found yesterday at Walmart a new scent by Dial in Peach. It said new, but not sure. It smelled just as good...if not better.

  9. I'm confused as to why the product says that it's 94% naturally derived, yet the second ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate. Is the SLS naturally derived from coconuts? I feel like Dial should note that if they are marketing it as a natural product.

    1. That was my first thought as well. If you don't know about SLS just google it "A report published in the Journal of The American College of Toxicology in 1983 showed that concentrations of SLS as low as 0.5% could cause irritation and concentrations of 10-30% caused skin corrosion and severe irritation"
