[UPDATE: Please click here to read my interview with the President of One!]
OMG, I went to Target yesterday looking for the new e.l.f. display (of course it wasn't up, and they haven't even cleared out an existing display yet to make room for it, so who knows when I'll find it), BUT, I did stumble across a BOATLOAD of new, and very promising, bath and body stuff! I found so much new stuff that I can't even fit it all into one post, so definitely check back because I'll be posting the rest of my discoveries tomorrow, including some great stuff I found on clearance.
So first I'd like to show you this amazing new line called One, that is chock full of Lush-type products at very affordable prices (nothing over $10, I believe).
What absolutely impressed me right off the bat about these hand and body lotions (in addition to the "Vanilla Almond Custard" scent on the far right--YUM!) is that I noticed this message printed on the side of the box:
One doesn't use plastic in any of their packaging! Also, their products are all natural, packed with amazing ingredients, and no parabens or SLS!
But here's the most genius thing I noticed on the top of their lotion boxes:
Yep, that's a scratch & sniff sticker! Do you understand how AMAZING this is for a germaphobe like me? I have only ever seen scratch & sniffs on products like candles--never on a body product! What a fabulous way to prevent people from ripping open boxes and making a mess of lotions just to get a whiff. Oh man, I just LOVE this!
Let me show you the rest of this line:
Look at how CUTE the packaging is on these lip tins! And they're only $2.99! I neeeed that one of the far right, which is "Mom's Cherry Pie". Um...yum!
This is their lotion massage bar (very Lush-like) and it smells AMAZING. For their soaps and massage bars, they leave little cut-outs in the packaging so that you can get a whiff of them and actually see the product in side. Love that.
Here are their solid shampoo bars and they also have a sold conditioner bar (on the far right) which smells heavenly. Not bad for $6.99, right? Compared to Lush's solid shampoo bars, which can cost you anywhere between $8.95-$14.95 plus shipping if you don't live near a Lush store, that's a great deal! Also, notice the little cut-on on the tops of the packages so that you can see and smell the bar.
And finally, One also makes body butters in cute tins, and well as soaps. The soaps smell divine and I wanted one soooo bad, but I already had a full shopping cart so...next time.
So...what do you think of this new line of affordable Lush-type products at Target? Are you as excited as I am about this? I would LOVE to hear your thoughts, and of course I would love to hear from any of you who have already tried out this line!
I saw these last night! My Target also just got in the Kings & Queens bath products that I've only seen on beauty.com. They also had a line of organic makeup that I hadn't seen before. I love all the new things- go Target!
ReplyDeleteOoo those look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting! I remember walking into Lush when I lived near Chicago and thinking, "What is this place, and why am I afraid to touch anything so expensive?" Now that I am in an organic, earth-friendly cleansing mood I could kick myself! I am in need of new personal products and my anniversary is coming up.
ReplyDeleteThat line looks awesome! If there is no plastic, how do the lotions come? Are they in metal tubes? I'm on a beauty no-buy for March, but April 1st I'll be heading for Target! Hopefully someone will have reviewed these products by then!
ReplyDelete... WANT! D:
ReplyDelete:O
ReplyDelete*Runs to Target.*
This is amazing! I'm so glad they make solid shampoo! I love lush, and I can't go there anywhere because it is too expensive and rather far considering I try to walk everywhere. I'll check these out when I go to target March 7th, the launch date of Jean Paul Gaultier for Target! SOO excited!
ReplyDeleteWhile I applaud them skipping the plastic, I get so irritated by companies claiming to be so eco-friendly when they use an excessive amount of packaging. All that extra cardboard takes a very uneccessary toll.
ReplyDeletei sooo wanna try this stuff out it looks amazing, cant wait to pick some goodies up
ReplyDeleteWow this looks so great!! I've been wanting to try some Lush stuff so bad, but I just can't justify the ridiculous shipping rates!! (I don't live anywhere remotely near a store.) It would be fabulous if they would make a few bath bombs or bubble bars!! You never see drug store products carry those, and it really is a shame. I'm very surprised that One is selling shampoo bars because that is very rare!!! I can't wait to try some of this stuff out!
ReplyDeleteOMG I go to Target everyday and I haven't spotted these!! I'm totally going to be on the look out tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing!! I went to Target last week and they just had empty cosmetics shelves! So I wonder if they were clearing out for ELF? It was the one in college grove
ReplyDeletewow, those seem really promising! I'll have to check them out! Unlike Lush they have adorable packaging... perfect for a gift!
ReplyDeleteI have Googled & can't find anything at all about "One" body products. By chance, was there a website listed on their label as I would love to find out more about them?
ReplyDeleteWow this is crazy exciting! I used to work at Lush, and as much as I loved the products the company has some MAJOR flaws and I just don't like to support them unless I have to (I have crazy sensitive skin and there are one or two products I have to use from lush only). I am insanely excited to check out the solid shampoo and I'll be going to target ASAP!!
ReplyDeletethose sound lovely!! i was at my target today and it looked like they were giving the cosmetics section an entire overhaul and i did not spot these new LUSH-like products. recessionista, any idea on the ingredients or if the company participates in animal testing? if any of the products are vegan-friendly i'm totally going to try them out :)
ReplyDeleteMegan: Yep, I saw the Kings & Queens stuff too (I just posted about them, in fact). I bought a product that I will be reviewing tomorrow (it's amazing!). And you're totally right: Go Target!! :)
ReplyDeleteJanet: Totally agree! :D
YesIShould: LOL! I know exactly what you mean. :) And I think you should treat yourself to some of these in the near future! And if you do, please let me know what you think of them! :)
chickadee: I tried to figure that out when I was looking at the lotions, and as far as I could tell, it looks like the tubes might be made of heavy paper (or maybe metal but it felt softer than a metal tube). If it's paper though, you'd think it would have to be at least coated in some type of plastic, but I'm seriously not sure. Oh darn, I guess I'll have to buy a lotion just to figure it out, right? lol!
Lillian: Me too! Me too! :)
Heather: LOL!! I'm right behind you. :)
PoorCollegeStudent: I know, I'm super excited to try the solid shampoos too. I can't wait to hear what you think if/when you get one! :)
Steph B: I can totally see your point, HOWEVER, I think that for a product line that's going to be sold at Target, it makes sense to wrap the product in *some* type of protective material or else that display is going to turn into one big, tampered-with, mess (just like the other B&B displays eventually do). So while it sucks to have excessive packaging, it's nice to see it's not plastic packaging, right? Also, some of these products have bare minimum packaging, such as the bar soaps. It's really just one recyclable paper box between the soap and you. :)
Anon: Me too!
Hannah: I agree--I don't understand why you don't see more bath bombs or bubble bars in stores! I'd love to know what you think of the solid shampoos if you try them!
Marie: Keep me posted if you find them and try something, ok? :D
Natalie: I went to the College Grove Target just the other day! How funny. I didn't see any empty cosmetic shelves though....just empty shelves in the B&B aisle. I was wondering where they're going to put the elf display (maybe in the same end cap as last time?). Hum...I guess we'll see! :)
Susie: LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Lush's packaging leaves a little bit to be desired! I don't know...to me this One packaging is SO much cuter. Even the logo is cuter. lol. :)
Tess: I'm so sorry--I didn't check to see if there was a website on the packaging...I'll try to remember to look for that the next time I'm at Target and report back. :)
Shaya: Wow, coming from a former Lush employee, it's pretty darn cool to see that you're excited about this new line! I would LOVE to know what you think of these products and, given your extensive knowledge of Lush, how you would compare them in performance and quality! PLEASE keep me posted, ok? Thanks! :)
jennifer: You know, I think I saw the little bunny logo on the bottom of the packages but now I'm not 100% sure. Darnit! As for vegan-friendly, it *appeared* that they were, but now I don't remember if the lip balms contained beeswax or not. I'm so sorry I didn't look closer for you! I'll try to remember to look for that the next time I'm there and report back. Oh, but the one thing I can tell you is that the products are paraben and SLS free, and I remember seeing tons of natural ingredients in them as well, and not a lot (if any) chemical names in the ingredients lists. :)

ReplyDeleteOoooh, thank you, anon!! Off to check them out right now! :D
ReplyDeleteRecessionista,
ReplyDeleteThank you so muich for your reply.
I should have also stated that I live in Canada but frequently cross-border shop & there is a Target where I go so will be definitely checking out "One".
So glad I found you on the net & thank you so much.
So, I went to Target tonight and picked up one of Bath Bombs in "I Need This!" (the green lemongrass scent.) Wow! It smells soooo good! The Target bag sat in the car while I ran into another store, and when I got back to my car, the bath bomb had made my entire car smell so great! It's a very fresh, lemony, sharp scent.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to wait a few weeks to use it though, which makes me sad. I'm at college, so I don't have a bath tub. But when I go home for Spring Break I'll definitely be trying it out! I can't wait!
Tess: You are so welcome! And I'm glad you found me too! :D Also, did you see my post about the URL for One? It's onebathandbody.com. Hope that helps, honey!
ReplyDeleteHannah: WOW! I am so jealous, because my Target didn't even have bath bombs! They sound amazing, and the way you described it sounds like something I would absolutely love. Thanks so much for the info, and can't wait to see how you like it in a few weeks. :)
So, today I tried out the Bath Bomb, and it was great!! There are two bombs in one container, and they are both half of a sphere. Today, I used the top half which is a lime green color. It turned my bath water this soft, pretty, lime green color! So beautiful! As soon as I got in, I could feel the ingredients moisturizing my skin because my bath water just felt so smooth and buttery. And of course, the fragrance was wonderful and so uplifting. I can't wait to try the other half of the bomb, which is a teal blue color. The water is going to be gorgeous! So, yall should definitely try these!
