Breaking News: More info about e.l.f. in Target Stores Nov. 1st

In case you didn't see my post from earlier today, it's official: e.l.f. cosmetics is going to be sold in all 1,700+ Target stores across the United States beginning November 1st (although one of my dear readers confirmed that she has already seen the new e.l.f. display in her area, so start checking your Targets, ladies!).

I contacted Ted Rubin at e.l.f. (their Chief Marketing Officer and all-around great guy) and he gave me some additional information that I'd like to share with you about what you can expect to see at your local Target (my comments are in parentheses):

e.l.f. cosmetics will be in 3.5 foot endcap displays (That's a nice, wide display!)

Price-points will be $1, $3, $5 and $10

The $1 products will be packaged exclusively for Target stores in sleek black packaging (Awesome! Does this mean that we'll see products that have been made exclusively for Target as well?)

One shelf will be devoted to individual items (items not in sets)

Five shelves will be devoted to boxed sets of 2s, 3s and more items.

Goods will hit stores November 1st.

New goods for 2010 will hit stores after the holidays.

I will try to find out if there are products that e.l.f. has made exclusively for Target, and I will also try to find out if any Mineral and Studio products will be part of the display, so please stay tuned.

As soon as I receive more info I will post another update.

In the meantime, how do you feel about this information? Are you as excited as I am to see the sleek black packaging that has been made exclusively for Target? I have to admit it sounds pretty darn cool!

  2. Hey girlie! Well, I really hope so, but it could also mean that they're just selling the $1 products in sets of 2, 3, 5 and 10. I'm trying to find out if any Studio and/or Mineral line products will be sold at Target and the minute I do, I'll post an update. You're not the only one with fingers crossed tightly! :) xo

  3. You know, that got me to thinking. I could swear I've seen e.l.f. at Kmart. The only thing I like from e.l.f. is their black professional C brush. Most of the other brushes I've tried were too rough for me.

It'll be interesting to see them at Target. I wonder if they're phasing out the Pixie and other higher end stuff.

  4. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how excited I am. I love E.L.F. products, and the only thing that keeps me from buying out their entire inventory is that pesky shipping cost... can't wait to be able to see the products in person and make my decisions based on that - that will definitely curb some of my impulsiveness! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that both the Studio and Mineral lines will be included. Can't wait to see the Target exclusive packaging too.

Now if only NYX could start becoming more available... all my cheapskate makeup dreams would come true! Hahaha

  5. I'm anxious! I just hope this includes the Studio Line.
I can find certain e.l.f. products here right now... but not the stuff I want. lol

  6. They are coming to Canada too, R!!! Can't believe it, Nov 1, lol

  7. I'm super excited! Can't wait till e.l.f. hits my Target :)
If they do plan to include the Studio and Mineral items in the display, I hope that they decide to seal the individual items, like the lipsticks. I also hope that the display includes testers. I can't count the number of times I've been to Target looking for a lipstick or something else, pick up a supposedly new item only to discover someone already came along and used it as their own personal tester. Yuck.

  8. EEE! I love e.l.f.! I'm positively giddy about previously hard to find brands making their way to stores I actually have access to. First Hard Candy, now this! Sweet! Like J up there, if NYX became more available, I'd probably throw a party. :-D

Hey, this is really OT, but, would you ever consider posting some pics of your makeup collection and how you store it? I'd love to see the Recessionista's stash! I know, you've probably got a billion other posts you're working on, but maybe someday, when you're scrounging for some ideas? (Perish the thought!) :-)

  10. Hey Phyrra! You know, I've heard that K-Mart sells elf, but honestly there isn't a K-Mart anywhere near me so I never got a chance to check it out. :( And to tell you the truth, I kind of hope they are phasing out those other lines at Target because, to me, they were just way too expensive to be at Target. Did you ever try anything from those lines? Also, I love love love the elf eyeshadow brush--have you tried that one?

Hey J! You are so not alone with your excitement over this news! I am chomping at the bit to get down to my Target asap, just to see if maybe they put up the display early. And I totally agree--now all we need is NYX! It's sad because here in CA, NYX used to be sold at Long's Drugs, but then Long's was purchased by CVS so it went away. Darn them. lol.

Hey Rai--good news for you about the Studio line! Check out my latest update. :)

Halifax, my dear! I just credited you with this info on my latest update. xo

Mimsy! You are SO right! I really, REALLY hope that these products are sealed and that each product has a tester. That would be awesome! I will definitely pass this info along to elf, just so they are aware of our concerns. xo

Hey femputer! OMG, first of all I am honored that you would even be interested in knowing how I store my makeup! Sadly, you really do NOT want to see how it's stored at the moment. lol. Being a beauty blogger is so great, but it has its disadvantages when it comes to products. I've got them *everywhere* at the moment and I have no order whatsoever. I know there are a ton of great ideas for makeup storage online but I've yet to find one that truly works for me. But I'm trying, so if/when I find a system that I love, I will definitely post about it. xo

Hey giz89! I never got a chance to check out K-Mart's selection of elf when there actually was a K-Mart in my area (now there are none) so it makes me all the more happy that they're going to be at Target. Thanks. :)

  11. I have list of the e.l.F studio stuff I've been dying to try!! My closest Target doesn't sell e.l.f. so I'm excited!

  12. I've tried a couple of the e.l.f. regular brush line and they were really rough and scratchy for me (my preferences in brushes are my MAC brushes, my ecoTools brushes and my taklon brushes). HOWEVER, I really do love the one e.l.f. professional brush I mentioned, the C brush.

I didn't try those brands because I saw some bad reviews on their pigmentation, and at the price, I can just buy MAC.

  13. So excited i work at target so this is dangerous, but exciting!

  14. Hey Jamie! Yay! I'm so glad you're as excited as I am about this news. :)

Hey Phyrra! Thanks for the info about the brushes. I'll definitely have to try that C brush! Yeah, I never tried those other brands either--I never heard great things about them plus I just could not get over the prices. elf seems like SUCH a better fit for Target. :)

Hey Anon! Wow, you lucky girl! You'll probably be there the day these products are put on the shelves and you'll get first pick of everything. Yay! :)
