So when I was in my local Yankee Candle the other day sniffing all the new scents, my favorite sales clerk said to me: "We're one of the test stores for the new Yankee Candle Lip Balm. Wanna see 'em?" My reply: "Honey, did you really have to ask?"
I can't wait any longer so here's the pics of Yankee Candle Lip Balm in "Vanilla Lime":
OMG, doesn't it look just like a Yankee Jar Candle? TOOOOOOOO CUTE.
Here is the real thing for comparison:
Here's what it looks like when you twist the top off the "jar":
At the very bottom of the "jar" is the part that you swivel to turn up the balm itself.
Now, to get some perspective of how small and incredibly cute these are, here is the Yankee Candle Lip Balm next to a regular L'Oreal Color Riche lipstick:
Seriously, if I still played with Barbies, Barbie would have her very own Yankee Candle for the Barbie Dream House!
Now according to my sales associate, their store has been testing this product for 3 weeks. I just noticed that you can purchase these on the YC website, but I'm not sure if they have made their way into every YC store as of yet.
The retail price of these balms is $2.99. They all have an SPF 15 (awesome!) and they contain fantastic ingredients such as organic extra virgin olive oil and organic hemp seed oil. My lips felt moisturized when wearing this and continued to feel moisturized long after the balm wore off.
All of these balms share the same color and fragrance as their candle counterpart (love that!). My balm also has a very slight flavor that is spot-on vanilla and lime. Oh, and I LOVE how wide this balm is--you can glide it over your lips and get a great application with just one swipe to the lower lip and one swipe to the upper lip.
Final Analysis: I really cannot find one thing I dislike about this product. The price, the packaging, the fragrance, the scent and the ingredients are all top notch. Yankee Candle is not messing around with these and I'm so happy that they're not just a novelty item that's all flash and no substance. Click here to check out the other flavors that are available. I sniffed them all and I can say that Buttercream and Vanilla Cupcake had, in my opinion, the weakest scents (not weak as in yucky, but weak as in faint). Sweet Strawberry and Vanilla Lime definitely are the strongest scents of the bunch.
Do you own a Yankee Candle Lip Balm? Do you plan to purchase one? Am I the only one who's giddy about these? Let me know your thoughts.
Oh wow! I have to try this! They look so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love how it's 5am and I'm already plotting ways to spend money today... sounds like a little Sweet Strawberry is in my future ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, yeah like for Barbie to use. Don't think I've seen it around :-) I hope the quality is great
ReplyDeleteHey Linda! Yes, they are adorable--I hope you like them as much as I do!
ReplyDeleteHey Amber! OK first, you're up at 5am? Ouch! lol. Second, you need the Sweet Strawberry. That is all. :)
Halifax--If you read my review, I definitely talk about the quality. The organic ingredients (specifically the extra virgin olive oil and hemp seed oil) make this balm extremely moisturizing. The quality is top notch, as is the fragrance. My lips are *still* moisturized and it's been several hours since I used it. This is definitely not just a novelty item! :)
Are the lip balms flavored?
