🌟HOT TIP🌟: Thanks to reader "Unknown" for the tip that Sephora added the Clinique Crayon Chubby Stick Sets to the Sale Page HERE. With the VIB discount, these would make excellent Mother's Day gifts!
Sometimes (read: every time) the VIB Sale rolls around, I freak out about what to buy with my discount (see meme above). I mean, I blog about beauty deals every day, and the stress even gets to ME. So each time this sale rolls around, I like to give you a few ideas that are off the beaten path. I don't recommend the hottest must-have palettes because I know you see those recs everywhere. You don't need them from me, too! So here's a quick list of things that I personally own and love that I think are worth your consideration. At the end of this post, I'll also share with you what's on my personal wish list.
Before we get started with the recs, a quick refresher on the dates and codes:

MY PERSONAL SEPHORA VIB SALE RECOMMENDATIONS:
(Click a link below to go directly to the item listing on the Sephora website)
($11.90 after VIB discount; $12.60 after BI discount)
Although this product claims to smooth frizz and deliver shine (which it does), it's also an excellent detangler. I've been using this product for a long time now (I've posted mini reviews of it in the past) and I still adore it. I have oily hair, and it never makes my hair greasy or heavy. It detangles like a champ and it plays well with my other styling products. It has a fresh, clean, citrus scent, and one bottle lasts me forever. Highly recommend.
Fresh Bar Soaps - $13 - $17
($11.05 - $14.45 after VIB discount; $11.70 - $15.30 after BI discount)
I have been a fan of Fresh for decades, and my love affair began with their bar soaps. I still adore their bar soaps, but they are quite the indulgence at $13-$17 a pop. So I always wait for the VIB sale to buy a few. I love to rub them into my wet bath pouf and work up a nice, creamy lather. Each bar is huge (especially the oval soaps) and they last forever. My favorite scents are Sugar Lychee, Sugar Lemon, Sugar, Waterlily and Hesperides (which I consider the best grapefruit scent in the entire world apart from an actual grapefruit).
Kat Von D Lock It Edge Concealer Brush - $24
($20.40 after VIB discount; $21.60 after BI discount)
I bought this brush during the last VIB Sale and I have been absolutely loving it. The size and unique shape of the bristles work so well in my under eye area, and I love the density and softness of the bristles as well. If you have issues with applying/blending your under eye concealer with your fingers or a sponge, and you haven't found a good brush that works for you, I think this one is worth a shot (click the link above and check the reviews for more raves--I'm certainly not the only one who adores this brush).
Juliette Has a Gun Travel Sprays - $28
($23.80 after VIB discount; $25.20 after BI discount)
If you've ever received a sample of a Juliette Has a Gun fragrance and thought, "Oh I love that, but the price!" then consider this a reminder. The travel-size sprays (yay for sprays!) are the same size as your average rollerball (0.25 oz.) so this discount makes them around the same price as department store fragrance rollerballs. My favorite? Lady Vengeance. When I go out for a night on the town, it's my go-to every single time.
Cinema Secrets Makeup Travel Size Brush Cleanser Travel - $8
($6.60 after VIB discount; $7.20 after BI discount)
If you haven't tried Cinema Secrets yet, grab yourself a travel-size bottle. Seriously, this stuff comes in so handy when you forget to clean a brush the night before and you have zero time to allow it to dry. That's exactly the way I use this product--I don't use it to replace traditional soap & water. I use it when I'm in a pinch, so one travel size bottle lasts me forever. I spritz my brush a few times and then wipe gently into a paper towel. With foundation brushes I might need a second round, but it's worth it to me since this stuff dries instantly. The scent is a bit strong (sort of like alcohol + vanilla) but that's the only fault I can find with this product. A true lifesaver.
Sephora Collection Classic Mini Multitasker Brush - $14; it also comes in a fancy gold version here for the same price
($11.90 after VIB discount; $12.60 after BI discount)
I've raved about this little (and I do mean little) brush a million times on this blog, so just consider this a reminder of how much I love it. It's tiny but powerful and excellent for travel. I use it to apply liquid foundation, powder foundation, setting powder, blush, highlighter, you name it. It's a true multi-tasker in that it works well with everything. Plus, the bristles are nice and dense and oh so soft.

MY SEPHORA VIB SALE WISH LIST:
NOTE: the "nothing under $25" reference in the title of this blog post does not apply to these items. These are just my own personal wish list items that I'm currently mulling over. In case you're curious, I mention why I'm considering each item below!
Hermes Garden Collection Coffret Set - $50
($42.50 after VIB discount; $45 after BI discount)
Over the past few years, Hermes has become my favorite perfume house. I already own two of the fragrances in this set and I LOVE them. The Garden Collection is so fun--all of the fragrances are complex, fresh, fruity, herbaceous, or all of the above. I don't use my full-size bottles as often as I'd like, because WOWEE are Hermes fragrances expensive. So this feels like a great time to get back-ups and have extra fragrance to go around. I have yet to find a better price for this coffret so I'm seriously considering taking the plunge.
Bite Beauty Smashed Agave Lip Mask - $26
($22.10 after VIB discount; $23.40 after BI discount)
I have used samples of this lip mask in the past and have decided that Smashed is my favorite shade. I need the full-size tube. I want it. It will be mine. Click the link above and read the reviews if you're new to this one.
Sol de Janeiro Samba 2-Step Foot Fetish Care - $27
($22.50 after VIB discount; $24.30 after BI discount)
OK so if you've never seen this set before, you must click the link above and check it out. The foot file is in the shape of a surfboard! I kind of want it just for that, but if you read the reviews you'll see that it appears to be a rather nice foot cream as well. I don't know--am I being a sucker for cute packaging? Do you already own this set? Tell me, please, how you like it!
Tom Ford Limited Edition Clutch Size Lip Balm - $36
($30.60 after VIB discount; $32.40 after BI discount)
Yes, they're small. Tiny, even. But when it comes to Tom Ford cosmetics, they're a bargain! I kid of course but have you seen the price of Tom Ford cosmetics? Yikes. Anyway, I actually purchased this lip balm in the shade La Piscine from Beautylish a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. The packaging is gorgeous, the lip balm feels nice and buttery on the lips, and it delivers just the right amount of color to my lips for light makeup days (which is exactly what I'm looking for as we head into summer). Now I'm debating whether to get Fathom or Pure Shores but part of me is thinking I should just stick with the shade I have and be done with the ridiculous indulgences. But of course the other half of me is like, "But they're limited edition!" Sigh...
So tell me: have you placed any Sephora VIB Sale orders yet? If so, what have you purchased? If not, what's on YOUR wish list?

I would also throw out a couple other recommendations.

I just got the Bronze Highlight duo and I feel like it's a great travel set, especially on sale!

ReplyDeleteMy recommendations for something under $25 is the travel size Becca Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Opal. It's plenty big at 0.68oz. A little goes a long way. I have never finished a highlighter. The last one I owned of this lasted me over a year before I noticed that it turned bad and had to throw it away. Also, I think this is a little more natural looking that the pressed version. It's also available in Moonstone for paler skin tones.
ReplyDeleteThe other thing I bought, which I always buy during a sale is my favorite oil cleanser--the Sephora Collection Supreme Cleansing Oil for $15. Works just as well as the Clinique Take It Off Balm and Tatcha Cleansing oil but cheaper!
My splurge is the Marc Jacobs Airblush.
I truly love your blog, G! I check it several times a day bc I enjoy your posts. Have a great weekend!
Thanks to you I went to JC Penny after work today and got the Sun care kit and the blushing kit too. Really excited to try these products and got to use my extra 50 bonus points coupon! I ordered two UD eye pencils online and am trying not to buy the glamglow moisturizer duo that I fell in love with in my last Play box. I'm $74 away from VIB Rouge which is horrible ....but not really. Thanks for your fantastic blog!!
ReplyDeleteThere are a number of gift sets like the marc jacobs mini daisy gift set and Chloe gift sets for $20 and a Tony Burch set for less than 30 too.
ReplyDeleteOn hautelook Tarte and Mario badescu on sale. Tomorrow Laura Geller and Sunday Becca
ReplyDeleteHautelook has Tarte and Mario badescu on sale. Friday and Sunday Laura Geller and Becca
ReplyDeleteI got the caudalie favorites set and the urban decay setting/complexion spray duo. I know everyone loves the urban decay setting spray but I'm a tiny bit apprehensive about the caudalie set. Hope its good! Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteFun read G., I am still mulling over which of the Sephora favorites I want!!!! Gah!!! Such stress!!!!! Lol!
ReplyDeleteBetween the Urban Decay 5X points followed by It Cosmetics 5X points at Ulta, I have done some serious Ulta shopping in the last couple weeks, so I'm trying to decide if I really want anything from the Sephora sale. My discount is only 10% but I have free shipping so I'm looking at at the travel size Hourglass finishing powder which I've wanted to try forever, or Bite prep and prime for lips. I got the latter in a holiday set and I just love it, it keeps lipstick from bleeding at all and makes lipstick stay on much longer. Hmm, what to do, lol.....thanks so much for everything you do to keep us informed, G! I never miss a post ❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks, G! I'm heading out today to redeem my 15% coupon:). I will replenish my staple Tarte creaseless under eye primer, treat myself to an Hourglass blusher and try out the sun safety kit so I can arm myself for the summer months coming out way:).
ReplyDeleteAll great recs! I've had that concealer brush on my wishlist for a while. And that soap sounds divine!
ReplyDeleteI was also LOLing at the photo at the top. So true! Hahaha.
Wow G, we are twins! I have all the same items on my wishlist! Especially the Tom Ford lip balm. I fell in love with Sugar Lychee scent but never purchased it. Looks like I will now.
ReplyDeletePlacing my second online order. While adding the Clinique Chubby Sticks noticed the Pops of Happy Gift Set. If you like Happy this is a nice little set for $12.50.
ReplyDelete3 piece Marc Jacobs surprise beauty break at Ulta if you haven't used your 20% off Platinum coupon. I already used my coupon but placed another order for the free gift. Spent sooo much these two months at Ulta. Eek.
ReplyDeleteIf you like crime novels, I recommend "The Alienist" by Caleb Carr. It's very suspenseful and is set in 19th century NYC, right after Jack the Ripper murders. It follows a journalist and a psychologist trying to find a murderer. Very interesting! Also "Oryx and Crake" or "Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood are great, great reads. Both very different but both are futuristic.
ReplyDeleteThe Alienist is so so good!!' It's supposed to be a mini series later this year! It starts slow but keep with it!
DeleteG, in your experience, does Sephora re-stock hot items during the VIB sale?
ReplyDeleteSomewhat unrelated to the Sephora sale, but Costco has beauty blenders for $14.99
ReplyDeleteYeah I grabbed the Hermes coffret because like you, I love the "garden" fragrances, and I also got the new Laura Mercier Translucent Powder for us dark divas. Now I just have a Sunday Riley set sitting in my cart while I debate whether or not to pull the trigger or scale it back and get one of the new Viseart eye shadow palettes.
ReplyDeleteI know everyone is all excited about VIB but I found a great deal on beauty blenders. For $16.95 you get the sponge and the mini cleanser solid. Only catch is the holiday package which doesn't matter to me. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Beautyblender-Original-Blender-With-Mini-Solid-Holiday-Packaging/157115651
ReplyDeleteI have the foot cream set and it is nice. I like to use it and then put socks on to maximize the moisture. The file is cute and works decently too.
ReplyDeleteOh great recommendations! Trying really hard not to go back for seconds. I picked up the ombre highlighter from Kevin Auction and it's stunning!
ReplyDeleteOmg I can't thank enough for the Tom ford balm rec!! I didn't even know it existed and after all the collateral damage, I'm still glad I popped in here at the 11th hour of the sale and was able to pick it up! You're the best G!
