PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION: I have personally purchased (and repurchased) the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil. Depending on how much or how little pressure you apply, you really can control the color. I think the taupe shade of this pencil would work well for redheads, blondes, dark blondes, and light/medium brunettes. I do think that it might not be deep enough for those with very dark brown or black hair, but that's only based on reviews I've read (I used this pencil when I had red hair, dark blonde hair and light brown hair and it worked well for all of those colors). I love that this pencil isn't too warm--it's cool enough for when my hair is ashy blonde/brown. The staying power is fantastic when it comes to my oily skin (lasts all day, even in the summer) and I LOVE that it adheres my skin (I have a few patches in my brows that I need to cover). The only thing that may be an issue is if you prefer a very fine point to your brow pencils. This is one of those pencils that's similar to Benefit's Goof Proof Brow Pencil, so it's not a super fine point. It's not a jumbo pencil or anything like that, and I do find it easy to work with on my relatively thin brows. However, I just want to mention that in case you prefer an ultra-fine tip. Oh! I also love that it's self-sharpening (twist-up) and that it comes with a built-in spoolie.
