I'm obsessed with home fragrance. If you're a longtime reader, then you know that I occasionally review affordable home fragrance products here on the ol' blog. But you know what? It's been a while since I've been obsessed with a drugstore home fragrance product. And when I can't stop thinking about a $1 room spray, well you KNOW I have to tell you about it.
My drugstore home fragrance game hasn't been too strong lately. I haven't been keeping up with seasonal, limited edition collections from Glade, Fabreeze, Air Wick, etc. like I usually do. So when I stumbled across this new Glade Matcha Garden scent at my local Albertson's (grocery store chain here in San Diego), I was like, "MATCHA? Well lemme just add that straight to my cart." That was last week, and I've been obsessed with this room spray ever since.
How obsessed? Well here's a little convo I had with Mr. G the other day:
Mr. G:
I cooked fish three days ago. There's no lingering scent here. Would ya stop spraying that, please??
To which I replied:
Huh? *sprays more* I can't hear you. *grins through a cloud of home fragrance*
To my nose, Glade Matcha Garden smells like green tea ice cream. If you've never tasted green tea ice cream (so, so sorry if that's the case!) then I can tell you that it has that wonderful, fresh, matcha green tea scent, along with the creaminess that you get with other ice creams. It's divine, and that's exactly how I feel about this Glade fragrance. There's a creamy sweetness here that mixes with the green tea. It's fresh, clean and slightly herbal, with just a hint of cream that balances things, to make it extra yummy.
Best part? Matcha Garden room spray is available at Target for just one dollar. As of the time of this post, you can't purchase it online but you can check the Target website here for a store locator. Also, you CAN purchase Matcha Garden in candle form, plug-in, and solid online here. I haven't tried those other forms yet, but I fully intend to.
And if you're more of an Amazon type of gal/guy, there are some options for you here as well.
Bottom line: this scent doesn't remind me of the usual drugstore room sprays. It's more interesting than your run-of-the-mill bathroom spray and whenever I spray it, I feel like I'm scenting my home with something far more expensive than a one-dollar product. Since this scent is limited edition (why???) I am going to stock up while I can. If you like green tea and you haven't tried this one yet, get to your local grocery, drug or big box store before this baby is gone forever. Give it a shot and get back to me!

Hi G., I wanted to come back to post and tell you that I finally picked this scent up and I really love it! I've really enjoyed all your scent recs so far (the Nest perfume I picked up as well for friends and it's so lovely!) Thank you so much for recommending this. 😊
DeleteLove me a good scent. I'm also a band director of 300 smelly middle schoolers. I'll try anything!
ReplyDeleteLove when you post something interesting like this! I'm always on hunt for new and interesting stuff and pls do post ur recommendations cuz I'm a sucker and purchase almost everything u talk about non-beauty. On beauty part, yes I pause, think and purchase but non-beauty just get it!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing! I'm going to have to stock up next time I'm at Target. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI'm sold! Now the struggle to get to Target sometime soon! Finger's crossed I can get there.
ReplyDeletei saw this last week and grabbed it right away. i agree it's fantastic! i love green tea fragrances in general, but this one surprised me. i'm not a big home fragrance person but i grabbed the solids for the whole collection (3 scents). i'm really impressed with the whole collection and highly recommend them! original scents that are well balanced, bravo to Glade!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have ever smelled green tea? But I love Glade scents in Cashmere Woods. That what I keep in the baths here. Sometimes get in wax melts. It's not that choking fake Rose smell used to be subjected to as a child. Because u know if u went in a bath that had air spray u sprayed it too. Lol. Will def be checking it out. Love anything ice cream scented probably.
ReplyDeleteI love home fragrance! I will get this one the next time I am in Target. I have some of the Bath and Body Works room sprays, and they are too overpowering, not to mention expensive!
ReplyDeleteSmells like green tea ice cream? Sold! Now I just need to find this at Target...
