Thanks so much to readers Laura, @butterfly0901 and @coilsoflove for letting me know about this one!
Target online is now carrying select BH Cosmetics. As you'll see when you click that link, the selection is limited (for now?) with some palettes, brush sets and a few other items. I have no idea if BH Cosmetics will eventually be sold in-store at Target, but I'll talk a bit more about that below.
So why is this good news?
Well as you know, BH Cosmetics normally requires you to spend $50+ for free shipping when you order online through their website, unless they're running a special promo. Yes, they run great promos and sales, but if you really want something and don't want to wait for the next promo, you can now order online through Target and only have to spend $25+ to receive free shipping. And if you have a REDcard, you get free shipping on ALL purchases plus 5% off all purchases in-store and online. By the way, if you don't already have a REDcard, you don't need to sign up for the credit card. I have the REDCard debit card and it gives you the same benefits (free shipping + 5% off all purchases in-store and online).
And as you know, Ulta carries a very limited selection of BH Cosmetics (just collabs at this time), so it's nice to now have two retailer options in addition to the BH Cosmetics website. And of course you can also periodically find BH Cosmetics at the discount stores like Ross, TJMaxx and Marshalls, but that's the luck of the draw.
What else is coming to the Target beauty department?
Well first let's talk about Sonia Kashuk. There are rumors that Sonia Kashuk has left her brand. I have not seen any official announcements, but as many of you have shared, the official Sonia Kashuk Instagram page has been deleted. There is this Sonia Kashuk Instagram page, but I'm not sure if that's a verified account. Also, the Sonia Kashuk website, which used to showcase all Sonia Kashuk products, now redirects you to the Target website. And the Sonia Kashuk Facebook page and Twitter page have been deleted. What does this mean for the future of Sonia Kashuk at Target? I have no idea. I'm guessing that if she did leave, the brand will continue on without her at Target. But I guess we'll have to wait for an official announcement.
WWD published this article three days ago announcing that more K-beauty is coming to Target on January 15 (this Sunday!). The products will be hand-picked by Alice Yoon, who is the founder of Peach & Lily. Some of the products will include: 24/7 Cosmetic Highlighter White, as well as products from AprilSkin, Caolion and Mizon. Prices will "range from $7 for the AprilSkin Deep Cleaning Facial Cleanser to $38 for the Mizon Snail Repair Cream."
And speaking of K-beauty, according to an article published on WWD just hours ago, Missha products will be available IN-STORE at Target soon (not just online as they have been for months now).
The above K-beauty news aligns with the fact that many of you have said that your Target locations are currently poised for a huge cosmetics reset. I'm hearing from many of you that several shelves are bare right now and things are being changed around, with various products on clearance, so I'm guessing that we'll be seeing more new products and brands in the very near future. It sounds like NYC New York Color is exiting Target and other US retailers and, as I mentioned last summer, their US social media sites are no longer in existence (they are still an active brand in Canada and other countries, but it looks like they're exiting the US market although I don't have official confirmation on that). So who knows which brand(s) will fill that slot in the permanent cosmetics wall. BH Cosmetics, perhaps? I guess we'll soon find out.
Thanks again, Laura, @butterfly0901 and @coilsoflove for the hot tips about the BH Cosmetics!
I hadn't heard about the NYC cosmetics leaving! I know so many people love their eyeliner. A lot of this news is super exciting. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome!!
DeleteAnd yep, when I posted about it last year, a lot of us were quite bummed about losing their eyeliners, nail polishes, face powders, lipsticks, etc. I have been a huge fan of the brand for many years and I've been trying to grab all my faves at the dollar stores, etc, while we will can. Such a bummer for us in the US. :(
How many of your favorite top coat do you have?
DeleteI'm down to two bottles and I can't find any more. Every store in my area is wiped out. Waaaah! :(
DeleteI went to my nearby Target earlier and they still had 3 bottles. I immediately thought of you, G! I'd buy them and send them to you if I could.
DeleteMy Target got rid of all the Pixi items
ReplyDeleteI've heard that from a few people, but I'm guessing that they're just resetting/redesigning the display, not getting rid of the brand altogether. The Pixie page on the Target site keeps growing (66 products as we speak) and they even have Target-exclusive products, so I would be super surprised if they removed their in-store presence altogether. :)
DeleteI hope not. The nyx is where our pixi was then we finally got Milani in place of Shea moisture
DeleteMaybe it has something to do with Pixi opening stores in the US this year?
DeleteIt could be that they're removing Pixi from certain locations (like how not all Targets carry WnW). So maybe it depends on each store's performance or maybe it's a regional thing? I'd love to know if Pixi is back at your store after the entire cosmetics reset is complete!
DeleteDanielle: maybe, but NYX and elf have stores and retain an in-store presence at Target.
Wait what?! A pixi store? G you're right because we didn't have wet n wild for a while
DeleteYep, they're opening a flagship store in Venice, CA this month. :)
DeleteHi G! If you're using missha, theyre available at target too now. Love their bb cream ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks! I actually mentioned that in this post because they're going to be in-store soon (not just online)! So exciting! :)
DeleteMy local Target never got any Pixie Soap and Glory etc. So if BH does go into stores I doubt it will be local. I have always wanted to try something from the line. I am sick about NYC leaving all stores. I managed to get a stock pile of 8 Grand Central Station but that's not going to last long. I'm crossing my fingers it shows up at Dollar Tree.
ReplyDeleteR, you never got S&G back at your target? Not even the holiday end-cap display? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that after the big reset, you'll get a permanent display (and Pixi too)!
DeleteAnd yeah, Grand Central Station was literally the first thing to get wiped out here in the displays in SD. I tried to grab as many as I could but apparently there are some other fanatics in my 'hood who beat me to it! I'm so jealous that you have 8 bottles. I have two left and that's it. Luckily I have a stockpile of Essie Good To Go that I got for like $3 each when they changed the packaging. Have you ever tried that one? I really like it and it doesnt get as thick as Seche when you near the end of the bottle. But yeah, GCS was the best in terms of price and performance. Such a bummer. :(
My Target beauty section is a desert as of two days ago as well! I was shocked how empty the shelves were and how many things were clearanced with the orange stickers! I'm super excited about the things that could be coming in, though! This is great news! Thanks as always for the deets, G!!
ReplyDeleteIt is SO EXCITING to finally be able to pick up the coveted real bb creams at a US discount store! I'm so happy right now!
ReplyDeleteI noticed all of the No. 7 cosmetics were being clearanced, so something's def replacing that. I think as far as Sonia Kashuk goes, they're going to probably pare down the line quite a bit; why they erased all of their social media is still a mystery to me, though.
ReplyDeleteSo that is what is going on with my Target's makeup section. I figured something was up! Thanks for the news! I love the free shipping with the Redcard Debit that and the 5% is amazing as I shop there all the time!
ReplyDeleteKristin Ess (hairstylist to Lauren Conrad & many other celebrities) is also launching a haircare line at Target! I believe it's launching on the website this weekend and in stores next weekend.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have heard from targets on Long Island in NY ... the ones that now carry Essence cosmetics won't carry Pixi products and the ones that do won't carry essence . But I don't know how true that is. Pixi Beauty does take pride in selling their merchandise at target. I have been one of their ambassadors for a while now and haven't heard anything about them discontinuing promoting and or selling of products at targets stores .
ReplyDeletePretty sad a brand called "New York Color" won't be sold in the US anymore. I don't know if the Family Dollar stores are still carrying them or not. Their long wear nail polish was one of my favorite drug store polishes
ReplyDeleteI hope the Missha bubble maker is one of the in-store items at Target. Love those things, but they are so cheap that it is never worth ordering just to get one. And I always forget to add them to larger orders. But in-store would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as though Shea Moisture beauty is leaving my Target. I'm super sad about that because I love their empty magnetic palettes!
ReplyDeleteUlta carries Shea Moisture makeup products.
DeleteI work at Target and we've been preparing for the beauty reset for weeks! We're getting a Soap and Glory display, the NYX section is getting bigger, and the ELF section is getting bigger too. Lots of new products and brands I've never heard of before in both skincare and makeup. We're still getting new items for Sonia Kashuk's Spring collection, so perhaps they are continuing the line without her. I look forward to seeing your reviews on any new items you pick up!
