I follow the FDA Recall account on Twitter as well as the FDA Cosmetics account on Twitter because I like to keep abreast of product recalls in all categories (because I'm paranoid like that). I try to pay particular attention to beauty product recalls, and I sometimes post about them if they pertain to brands discussed here.
That said, the FDA posted this tweet on 1/11/15 regarding a Santee Diamond Mascara recall, and I thought you should know about it. You can read the full listing directly on the FDA site HERE.
In short, on 12/4/2015 Santee Cosmetics sent a letter to the FDA indicating that 1,466 dozen (30.5 cases) of Santee Diamond Mascara have "the potential to be contaminated with mold." This was posted on the FDA site HERE this week.
This is all I know at this point, but I can tell you that, per the FDA listing, this mascara was distributed within the US and worldwide. Since I personally own some Santee products (nail polish) and I've seen Santee Cosmetics at many indie beauty supply stores here in the San Diego area, I thought I would mention this here in case you own this mascara.
If you have any questions or need more info, I would suggest contacting the FDA Cosmetics account on Twitter here and hopefully they'll respond to you. There is also contact info at the bottom of the FDA website HERE.

I saw these selling at Daiso. Thought it was cute packaging, but didn't buy thought. Thought the idea was funny.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! These are sold at MissA for $1. I'm still going to buy from them because I love that online shop but this is most unfortunate.
ReplyDeleteI never buy stuff just bc the packaging appealed to me but I would have with these, if I had seen them. I'm glad I didn't!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about recalls like this.
I am deathly allergic to mold, so this is terrifying to me. Thank goodness I did not buy any!
