Sad news for All You Magazine readers today.
From Coupons in the News:
A magazine that was once a favorite of couponers, but lost some of its luster lately, is about to fade into history. Publisher Time Inc. has announced it is discontinuing the publication of “All You”, effective with the December edition, and is shutting down the corresponding website at the end of the year.
“We are constantly evaluating our portfolio of brands and products, examining existing assets and assessing their ability to deliver meaningful growth into the future,” the company said in a memo to staff, a copy of which was provided to Coupons in the News. “All You has faced a particularly difficult landscape in the shopper marketing space as well as endemic newsstand challenges… To that end, we have made the decision to cease publication.”
If you’re still a subscriber, the company will offer a replacement Time-owned magazine, to fill out the balance of existing subscriptions.

For the first several years of my blog, I wrote about All You Magazine quite often, because they offered lots of high-value coupons for makeup and beauty that you couldn't find elsewhere. Their tagline, "The magazine that pays for itself," was completely true, since using just a few coupons each month would absolutely cover the cost of each issue.
But as the years went by, All You stopped carrying as many beauty coupons, and there was a point where the overall volume of all their coupons decreased dramatically. After reading the original article on Coupons in the News, it sounds like there were a lot of factors that contributed to All You's demise, but the decrease in coupons in each issue seems to have played a role.
I'm sad that the online portion of their website will be going away as well, since I've found lots of great tips and deals on their website over the years. I was even pleasantly surprised to have been featured in an article on the All You website just this past May.
Are you still a reader of All You? If so, are you sad by this news?
Yes! I still have another year or more of a subscription. That is sad.
ReplyDeleteAaaah, what a bummer. Well at least they are offering an alternative for the duration of your subscription (I know it's not the same, but it's still something, right?). :(
DeleteI just subscribed! Great! :0(
ReplyDeleteAh man, what crummy timing. Hopefully you'll find something you like when they offer you the alternative list of choices for your subscription. :(
DeleteThis is very sad!!! I love their tips from their website and I always print out the coupons from that site! Ugh why?!?!
ReplyDeleteI had a year's free subscription from and ELF purchase - I wasn't really impressed with the "savings," but I got a few good recipes.
ReplyDeleteSerous bummer. It was the only magazine I could count on not to showcase ridiculously-priced merchandise.
ReplyDeleteSame, I had just been given a free subscription because of Amazon Prime! Lameeeee.
ReplyDeleteI'm so going to miss all those time-saving recipes, and their clothing ideas for full-figured women. I always liked that they included my size along with everyone else in their style pages. I noticed the coupons being gone too. My subscription coincidentally ended this month! -- Amber
ReplyDeleteVery sad. I love All You, and not just for the coupons. It was one of those few magazines where it seemed like everything in it was something I could use, from recipes and meal planning to styling tips to things I can do with the family, and most of their suggestions were budget friendly compared to getting style suggestions from, say, Glamour magazine. It was one of those few magazines that I have actively kept a subscription to.
ReplyDeleteI am not really disappointed. I just started a new subscription a month ago. This magazine has gone downhill, in my opinion. It used to offer all sorts of great coupons, but now it only has a handful of crappy ones. I am not sure why that is, but that was the main reason for my initial subscription a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteLorraine--read the full article I linked to in my post--it goes into detail about why they had a decline in coupons (if you're curious!). :)
DeleteFirst Consumer Reports Shop Smart stops publishing and now All You is going....how sad. I'll miss both magazines!
ReplyDeleteI loved Shop Smart, but it was so expensive! i would read it in my local library and enjoyed it. Sorry they won't be around anymore.
Delete:( I have a subscription from ELF too.
ReplyDeleteBig bummer! There really is no other magazine out there that is like it, coupons or not. All You will be missed by my.
