The Wednesday Question (Beauty App Edition)

Do you use any beauty-related apps on your smartphone?
If so, what are some of your favorites?

I know there are a ton of beauty-related apps out there (I've heard from several of you polish fanatics who use apps to help manage and keep track of your nail polish collections), so I would absolutely LOVE to hear about which apps you have downloaded, which ones work for you, and why!

  1. PRIMP and MakeupAlley are two that I use on the regular basis, specifically when I'm shopping.

  2. Honestly, I tend to reach for my Google Doc spreadsheets more than my phone apps but these are the ones I have on my phone.

Stash Beauty - you can manage your collection and purchase directly from the site's retail partners
Pretty In My Pocket - it's a social network, I much prefer...
Makeup Social - another makeup social network

Hwahae is a Korean app I recently got clued into. I use it to dupe skincare products.

SuperDuper is a nail polish dupe app that dupes high end colors with drugstore ones.

  3. The only "true" beauty app I use is Makeup Alley so I can look up reviews fast while I'm out and about. I went through a few organization apps like Pretty In My Pocket, but the best one for organizing my stash is Google Sheets. I didn't even know how to work a spreadsheet until I started using it, but it's pretty easy to get the hang off.

I also like Pinterest as a Look Book.

  4. I don't really use apps on my phone too much. But I've had it nearly three years and am getting annoyed with it. Next model, I'm sure I'll be putting MakeupAlley on it, since I love visiting their site for reviews.

  5. Beautypedia - I look up everything before I make a purchase. Also use the ingredients dictionary on that app and its " best products" recommendations.

  7. I finally got a smartphone! Yes, I am a dinosaur... anyway, since it's only been about a month, I don't even know how to use the stuff it already has on it, so no downloaded apps yet. But I am intrigued to know which nail polish apps were mentioned to you G? I have to do something to sort this mess, and I am starting to buy polishes I already have when I find a good sale or go to Marshalls/TJ Maxx or Ocean State Job Lot. That sucks! I want to have a list of them when I shop so that won't happen ever again! lol
