NEW Wet n Wild Steal The Look app for Android and iPhone
(price: FREE)
From Happi.com:
For the first time in the brand's 35-year history, Wet n Wild is rolling out a national campaign called "Steal The Look." Based on the insight that women look to makeup for transformation, empowerment and play, the brand is set to help women lift any look they love—from a high-fashion cover model to a friend down the block—and re-create it for less.
"This incredible moment is more than 35 years in the making for wet n wild," said Bill George, president and COO of Markwins International, which owns the value cosmetics brand. "Wet n wild has always had a brilliant and beloved collection of trend-setting colors at the right price point—and now this brand campaign gives us a bold dose of moxie, making us an unstoppable force in the beauty marketplace."
Available for free, the iPhone- and Android-compatible app will provide women with information on which wet n wild products to use to re-create a look. [CLICK HERE for links to both the iPhone and Android app--G.]
The "Steal The Look" commercial will make its broadcast debut during the Sept. 22 season premiere of NBC's "The Voice" and includes a voiceover by Ashley DuBose, a 2013 contestant. During premiere, Wet n wild will hold simultaneous viewing parties in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto.
I literally just downed the app (it's still uploading as I type this) so I haven't yet had a chance to play around with it. But here's a screen shot from the app, taken from Google Play Store:
Have you downloaded the Wet n Wild Steal The Look app yet? Thoughts?
Let us know how well it works...
ReplyDeleteGood for them. I, too, remember when WNW was just a cheapie makeup brand at Walgreens. Now, they are a force to be reckoned with and some serious competition for all other drugstore brands. Heck, their fall and Halloween collections have blown Maybelline and L'Oreal out of the water. Apparently neither one of those brands even bothered with a Fall collection. So kudos to WNW, they deserve to be taken seriously...
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!!! Though could you update the post in a day or two? I would love to read what you think before I DL! Thanks G.!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, this sounds awesome and revolutionary for the cosmetic industry (as I have no knowledge of other cosmetic brands doing this) and I love that it's WnW because it's affordable! Will try it out
ReplyDeleteI'm downloading this right now! So excited to see how this works. Thanks G for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteJust tried this out, it's pretty bad. Decent concept but very simplistic and unrefined. Red glitter eyeshadow, no thanks.
