Revlon Limited Edition Fall/Winter 2013 Evening Opulence Collection by Gucci Westman

The other day when I posted about the new teal-colored Revlon Lip Butter, I was absolutely flooded with reader comments, emails, etc. offering more info about this new collection. I want to thank so many of you for sharing links, tips, etc.--I wish I could thank you all by name here!

I've heard from a few you that the Revlon Evening Opulence Collection by Gucci Westman is beginning to land in Target stores here in the US (I would expect that we'll be seeing it at drugstores very soon, if you haven't seen it already).

I have not yet seen The Evening Opulence Collection here in the US and have not received any reader photos of the US display. However, reader Marie, who is in the UK, recently spotted the collection at her local Boots and was nice enough to share some pics:

Evening Opulence Collection by Gucci Westman
(UK VERSION)

If you google this collection, you'll see that there are UK sites that list two different Photoready Kajal Eyeliners (Emerald Empire and Carbon Cleopatra) and just to remind you, these are NOT new shades. Both debuted in the US in May 2013. UK sites also list two nail colors in this collection--in addition to the gold shade you see above, there's also a purple. Marie also mentioned that the display featured a photo of a dark green nail color with possible gold shimmer. It will be interesting to see what the US collection contains--if you have seen it, I'd love to hear from you!

I found a review of Adorned and it is lovely and bright! You can see swatches here. I can't wait to see what Embellished looks like in person.

I'd like to clarify something about the Lip Butters. Several of you pointed out that the two new limited edition Lip Butters (which you'll see in a moment) are available on the Boots UK website, and that there's another new shade called Macaroon  Please note that Macaroon is NOT new, and it's not part of The Evening Opulence Collection. Macaroon is an existing UK-only shade that's been in the UK for well over a year now. I have personally wanted Revlon to bring Macaroon to the US for quite some time and I really hope they do--it appears to be the perfect pinky-brown (Revlon, if you're reading this, please, please give us Macaroon!)

Marie purchased both of the Lip Butters in this collection and shared pics:

Marie said that she tried to photograph some swatches for us, but that it was impossible because these are very transparent. This is not a surprise given the article I posted a few days ago indicated that this was a "greenish-blue balm that counteracts redness, transforming lips into a nice, sheer beige tone."  So again, don't expect Invite Only to be pigmented--it's more of a color-correcting type of product.

Marie also shared this photo and said that there is small blue glitter in Invite Only, which you can see here:

Marie also said that Provocative contains iridescent shimmer and that the added shimmer/glitter in these balms makes the lips look extra glossy and wet, although she was a bit disappointed with Provocative's pigmentation. She advised that these Lip Butters would be nice if you're looking for the shine of a sheer lipgloss, but not the texture. She also said that Provocative might be like a budget-friendly dupe of Lancome L'absolu Rouge La Base

Once again, if you have spotted this new collection here in the US, I would love to hear from you regarding what's in the US display, and if it differs at all from the UK display. In the meantime...thoughts?

Thanks so very much, Marie, for the great photos and information. I really appreciate it!

  1. seems like the lip butters are like the l'Oreal Le Glosses that came out last year in purple and teal but showed clear on the lips.

  2. Ohhh! I can not WAIT until this hits the US! :D And I completely agree on Macaroon!! *crosses fingers*

  3. The nail polish looks very similar to Carbonite. I happen to own Macaroon (because I pestered my boyfriend to get it for me when he went to Ireland). It has subtle shimmer and to me it's a peachy-pink version of Pink Truffle.

  4. Do you think the macaroon lip butter is the same as pink truffle?

  5. The first time I saw swatches of the Revlon Lip Butters, I was so excited to go buy macaroon. Such a disappointment that it's UK only, glad i'm not the only one!

    1. Same here. I did wind up getting a couple other colours but Macaroon was the one I REALLY wanted from the get-go. I even emailed them about it. Got a canned response of course, but at least I tried to put in my two cents. Hopefully they'll eventually see reason and bring that one over here.

  7. Omg,Idek about Macaroon! *wants*

I really love my Lip Butters and their cute, colorful packaging.
Idk if I'm gonna like the sheerness/color-correcting qualities of the new Invite Only and Provocative ones. I still wanna get them though... LOL

  9. It's a bummer the lip butters don't give a lot of color, but knowing me I'll still buy them just out of curiosity.

  10. Eh, Revlon has ticked me off by discontinuing most of the matte lipsticks. Now the display features dark lips, but no lipsticks or butters to match. :/

  11. Revlon Colorburst lip glosses are the best! My favourite shade is the peachy pink Bellini from the 2012 Summer Escapism collection.

  12. Looks like the UK gets all the good pinky-brown colors! There was one from Maybelline called Pinky Beige that I wished they brought here!

  13. I have to agree with Sushiroll--the Colorburst lip glosses are awesome, more like liquid lipstick than just a gloss. I'm can't wait to see swatches of the other two in this collection. And if Macaron comes to the US, I will be a very happy camper. Pink Truffle is the first lipstick I think I will ever actually use up completely, and Macaron looks just as wearable.

  14. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this collection. Even if they don't have much colour those new lip butters still look very intriguing.

  15. Will be picking up Invite Only just because my fave color is blue and this aqua blue is really pretty. Some Targets already have this display.

  16. Beautiful, I have to have them! Thanks for the post and pics, very helpful as always. ;)

  17. I'd like to see swatches of the lipglosses but this collection is a pass overall for me which I hate because I LOVED Sunbaked gloss.

  18. Hi G :) The first thing I think when I see such pretty, soft iridescent/pastel colors from the Lip Butter line is "MUST HAVE." The concept of getting a pretty beige color with "Invite Only" has my full attention, too. But I know that it's supposed to do that by cancelling out any red tones in one's lips - and I know that not only are my lips way more mauve/pink/not red lol, but they aren't very pigmented to begin with. Yet I still want this lip butter...this more-than-likely-to-be-clear lip butter.

  19. I just bought 935 Rich (nail color) and brought it home to compare to Carbonite - and it IS just a renamed Carbonite. I think every brand has done at least one dupe of Chanel's Graphite and I've been a sucker for every one of them. I'll be returning Rich later today. I need to draw the line somewhere.

I also got 736 Elusive and the Super Lustrous lip gloss in Sugar Violet and haven't found an exact dupe in my collection of either one.

Elusive might be what everyone wished Blue Mosaic was - sort of a darker, greener version of Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe in a black jelly base (IMO, the base is a little too thick/black as the glitter gets a bit lost). I feel like I've seen something like it but I can't put my finger on it. It dries down matte, which looks cool but it's amazing with top coat.

Sugar Violet is a very pretty not-too-pink cool violet in the tube and has nice sparkle but almost no pigment on the lips. It might be good for adding sparkle to a similar lip color.

I haven't seen Colorburst Lip Butter in Invite Only yet, but I suspect it's pretty much like L'Oreal Color Riche Balm in 945 Sundays By The Seine. It delivers little to no color at all, not even enough to cool down my pinkish natural lip color.

I got these all at Target in the Seattle area. Whew! Sorry that was so long. :)

  20. Yesterday I was wearing provocative in the sun and noticed a gorgeous pearly purple iridescent flash on my lips, I've Only noticed this in sunlight though, not seen it with indoor lighting :( Marie

  21. I just saw this at my local target in MN. The display is different, no lip butters in my display. I saw 2 of the 3 nail colors, Rich is a goldish metallic green, gorgeous! There was another one that was black with blue and green glitter chunks, cute but nothing new. It had 3 lipglosses, a berry, a pink and a lilac maybe? The berry lipgloss was in the permanent display as well. The purple eye shadow palette was there (very pretty) as well as an eyeliner duo with white and black I believe. There wasn't a TON left, about 1 of each product. Fall trends go fast!!

    1. I also thought Rich looked gold-green with lots of sparkle, but that was the lighting, I'm afraid. At home in several kinds of lighting, it was indistinguishable from Carbonite (and as such, was an almost perfect dupe for Graphite and all the other Graphite pretenders).

I'm wearing Elusive now, and while I agree it seems like a fairly common combo, there's nothing quite like it in my roughly 500-bottle collection (I might have a little addiction, LOL). I love the green flash buried in it. :)

  22. I just saw the Opulence display at my local target in MN! It looked quite different. There were no lip butters and the lip glosses were not colorburst but their new super lustrous formula in a beautiful berry, light pink and perhaps a lilac? I forget. I did notice the berry color was also part of the permanent display. It had 2 nail colors, Rich was a gorgeous goldish metallic green and another one was black with blue and green glitter chunks, it was cute but nothing we haven't seen before. The purple eye palette was there as well as an eyeliner duo with white and black.

  23. I found the display WITH the lip butters at my local walgreens. There was only two of each item but it was the full display. Picked up Invite Only and am quite happy with it so far!

  24. Just saw these today at my local CVS but only that cVS had them.
