CONFIRMED: Sally Hansen Insta Gel Strips Starter Kit + Gel Strips for $2.99 at Rite Aid next week

Get both for $2.99 total at Rite Aid from 7/21 through 7/27

I just received confirmation from Rite Aid that the offer I posted about yesterday will in fact work! There was some uncertainty about whether you could use the two coupons in one transaction, but Rite Aid has directly confirmed to me that you CAN!

If you're still in doubt:  Reader Sarah, who works at Rite Aid, posted a very helpful comment on my original post yesterday, with a snippet from Rite Aid's coupon policy.

From the Rite Aid coupon policy page:
Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon (a coupon of fixed value such as $.50, $1.25, etc.) in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One, Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item.
As Sarah suggested, if you run into any trouble next week when you show your coupons to the cashier, pull up (or print out) the coupon policy here. That should clear things up! (And thanks for that, Sarah!)

Once again, for all of the details about how YOU can get both the Insta Gel Starter Kit AND a package of Gel Strips for $2.99 total next week at Rite Aid, click here.

  9. Does this also work with the regular gel polish sally hansen kit? I like that the strips kit is cheaper but if I can get the gel polish kit for cheaper to I am on that.. Thoughts?

    1. I'm wondering that too. The $10 off coupon does say it's for both the gel strips and gel polish starter kit. So I know it will work with both. On the Save website they do have a a coupon that is BOGO one sally hansen gell polish starter kit, get one free gel color. So I don't think it would be as cheap as $7, before the up rewards, but I would be more willing to shell out for the gel polish kit.

    2. I'd like to know too. I haven't tried either, but I think I'd like to try the nail polish.

    3. I'm going today after work to get them, so ill post in the comments here and as well get a blog post up on it. I'm just so grateful for the fact G posted about this deal. Or I wouldn't have ever tried these.

    4. I just picked up the gel polish starter kit. I had one slight problem. The BOGO coupon wouldn't scan in, but the manager said to me it was only working half the time today and just manually took the $12.99 off. In the end I picked up the red my lips(Cherry red) gel polish starter kit, with the Black Tie optional(black) gel polish. For a total of 28.23 before considering I got $10 up cash back.

So in the end on the bottom of my receipt it saids total spent $19.77 which is less than one gel service in a salon. It's such a steal. Thanks again G about posting this!

  10. I'm so frustrated! I cannot get either coupon to print. I tried the link that another commenter provided and nothing is working. :-( Sad!

  11. It took me a while to print from redplum as well but it finally worked two hours ago. Also on Sallyhansen.com there's a $10 off coupon that work for both the Insta-Gel Strips & Salon Gel Starter kits...so im going to use both for the rite aid deal since that will allow me to get the gel nail deal for less than $40 with a extra polish!!!

  12. Im with @ashli113 on this one. cannot get them to print. Such a bummer. Been trying for two days!

  14. How many times can we print from Save.com? I know on coupons.com you can print 2 of each coupon.

  15. I just got back from trying this deal! It worked, however my BOGO coupon said I didn't have qualifying items. I was wondering if its because she rang the $10 one first? The manager pushed it through because I clearly had the right items. Did anyone else have this issue?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think the print limit is 2 on save.com as well.

I was there when my RA opened and got mine!

You can do this deal with the gel polish kit too...reg. price is $69.99.

  17. I was able to use both coupons together today but it was somewhat of a hassle. The cashier said no, I showed her the coupon policy, she still said no. insisted her register wouldn't do it. So she had the manager come up. I told him what the problem was and he said, "Oh yeah. we can do that. No problem." And he did it. Total with tax was $3.60 The other cashier played dumb but it was obvious to me she just didn't want to be bothered with it.

so in a nutshell- might be a good idea to take a copy of their coupon policy with you.

    1. It's amazing how people act like you are stealing from their paycheck when you use coupons.

    2. Wellll... I don't think it's that, so much as it probably being a pain to deal with coupons, especially at a drugstore (as opposed to a supermarket, which seem to be where most people use coupons). Add in the possibility that cashiers probably don't get in-depth training on how to get the POS to play with complex transactions and I can understand thinking it can't be done or not knowing HOW to do it.

(This is definitely *not* meant to be an excuse for cashiers like the one described above! If you're not sure or don't know how, get your manager to make sure it's done correctly. Don't lie because it's a pain and takes awhile to get a manager up there)

  18. The girl at Rite Aid gave me a hard time about using the two coupons (she was also upset there wasn't any pictures on them? IDK what her problem was), but I ended up getting the gel polish kit (not the strips) and a polish for 31.98 before tax. (plus I got my other SH $5 +up reward)

  19. I just got back from Rite Aid in Virginia Beach, VA and they would not let me use both coupons. I was only allowed to use the $10.00 off coupon. I did receive the $5.00 Up reward but ended up having to pay for the extra strips. When I showed they the coupon policy they said there was nothing they could do because the computer would not take both coupons. I still got a pretty good deal but it was a little disappointing. Just a heads up for people trying to use this deal that they may run into some difficulty.

    2. I was just thinking of doing that. What could it hurt, right? The worst that could happen is they say no.

  20. For those who cannot get the coupon to print, try switching browsers. I couldn't get the BOGO coupon to print using Firefox, but switched to IE and it printed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Okay so I tried this earlier and apparently did it wrong. It beeped on my bogo coupon bc I selected the insta strip instead of the gel. Just did it again but this time I selected the correct free item and it went through perfectly.

    1. sivi can you use the gel polish with the insta strips light?

  22. I had a hard time printing from save.com/redplum as well. It ended up taking two different browsers, clearing my cookies, a few program updates, restarts of my computer, and much frustration with their Help section.... but I got there in the end!

Went to Rite Aid this morning and picked everything up. The sales assistant had to put in one of the coupons manually, and it ended up ringing up as 1.98 before tax, 4.54 after tax, AND I still got the $5 +UP credit. So they basically paid me 46 cents to buy everything!!! Worth the frustration, definitely :)

  23. Best friend just called. They wouldn't take both coupons and she didn't get the Up Rewards. Not cool.

  26. I was at Rite Aid today and they will not permit stacking of the coupons. Both coupons will not scan. The terms of the coupon themselves limit their use of one per purchase. Although Rite Aid policy allows the use of one cents off coupon with a buy one, get one, this does not over ride the terms on the coupon.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Roberta, this is untrue. Rite allows stacking of coupons--I do it all the time and you can view the terms of their coupon policy in the link in this post above. I received confirmation DIRECTLY from Rite Aid public relations that this deal works, and they have since shared this deal with other bloggers to post on THEIR blogs.

I would suggest that, like I mentioned above, you take a print out (or show on your phone) the Rite Aid coupon policy. It may require a manual override by a cashier (as was the case for some readers above) but it's absolutely acceptable to stack coupons at Rite Aid.

    2. Had the same problem today. I was only allowed to use one manufacturer coupon. Even tho I spoke to the manger and showed him the RA coupon policy still no dice. He said that I would have to call the district manager... Seemed abit of a hassle, did anyone get the same response as I did?

  27. The Rite Aid in Cairo, GA will not take internet coupons for values greater than $5.00.

    1. That seems a bit shady to me. I'm sure they don't *want* to, because $10 is a big chunk and it takes a bit before they're reimbursed by the manufacturer, but I'd bet they're just hoping no one calls them on it.

I'd send a politely-worded email to Rite Aid corporate asking if this store is following RA policy (include the store number). You could also include that if it *is* acceptable for the store to refuse >$5 coupons, that's unfortunate because you'll need to take your business to Walgreens or CVS (or whomever) instead. :)

  28. Just an fyi about the coupons not scanning- Mine wouldn't scan either and the manager said that was simply the laser not being able to read the bar code on a printed coupon (something about home printers and the bar code not being clear enough). It had nothing to do with the computer itself.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It worked but the SA had to put in the BOGO coupon in manually. She didn't give me any problems. I did show her the coupon policy and askrd her before she rang the items up.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Similar situation at my rite aid in CA. The $10.00 off had no "qualifying item" to be applied too. The cashier was able to override it and manually apply a $10 coupon but somehow it came out to a different (even cheaper total). They also said they wouldn't do it again, but had a really hard time figuring out how to make it work.

  31. I ran out and got this deal yesterday because I wanted to make sure I got the color that I wanted. It worked! For some reason my coupons have not been scanning at Rite Aid, but the cashiers just manually gave me the discount. Score!!!

  32. Not sure where mu first comment went but yeah.... I ran out and got this deal yesterday. They had to enter one coupon manually, but it worked :)

  33. I just can not print this coupon!!! it prints the other one just not this specific one!!! so sad wasnt ment to be i guess

  34. :-( can not print!! can print the other coupons no problem just this one so sad! wasnt ment to be

  35. I went to RA today and it all worked fine. The cashier had to enter the BOGO one manually, but otherwise it worked out fine!

  36. tried this today (akron ohio area) and was able to get the $10 off but not the BOGO. The ladies working told me it was because the BOGO coupon is only for the gel polish and not the gel strips. although they did try and use both coupons the BOGO would say "no qualifying items". so i paid about $18 for the gel strips starter kit and gel strips color, which was still a deal to me.

after reading through some comments here i am wondering if i were to ask them to enter the BOGO manually would it work?

also if i got a gel polish color instead of the gel polish strips would it work? saw that "sivi x" did this and then her BOGO worked. Does anyone know if the gel polish color will work with the gel strips light? or do you need the light from the gel polish starter kit? SO CONFUSING!!

im willing to try again and return the kit i got today if anyone can help me!! :) THANKS!

  37. My Rite Aid would not let me stack the coupons. I called and customer service told me that it only works with "cents off" coupons, meaning the coupon has to have a cent value ($0.99, $1.25, $5.75 etc etc). Since this coupon was $10.00 off, they wouldn't let me do it.

  38. I picked my two up at my favorite of three rite aids near by. They always are super nice and trying to give me the best deal with my coupons. I had the policy printed by the manager and SA said they have been having problems scanning all sorts of coupons and it wasn't me. I was so glad I went to them, I got the 5 dollars too. I plan to buy another set if strips before the deal ends. It's all about finding a rite aid you go to regularly with coupons so they get to know you. I have had the same cashier a few times and she is used to the stack of coupons I have.

  39. Thank you! I just did it at the Rite Aid in Laguna Niguel CA. The supervisor did have to enter it manually to make it work.

  40. I tried 3 rite aids today in the Sacramento CA area. The first 2 were sold out. The 3rd had plenty but the staff was rather rude and would not honor the coupons because when scanned the register asked for the dept #. She also said they did not accept coupons over $5 any more and that she already knew the coupon policy and would not get fired for my "discount" Sigh. I will get this lol Just waiting for my other 2 stores to hopefully restock this week. Thanks so much for posting all these updates :D

    1. Wow, they didn't have to get rude about it, even if they didn't accept it. As the supervisor was keying in my discount, I was reading the sign next to the register that said they don't accept coupons over $5.00 anymore. The first Rite Aid I went to was old out as well.

  41. I got it today! The only problem was that the machine wouldn't take the bogo, but the cashier substrated it manually and done! 7.98 before taxes! Thanks or the info!

  42. Oh man! Thank you SO much, G, for posting about this. Not only did it work, but my result was a pinch-me-I'm-dreaming haul. Part of it was the insane Rite Aid sales, part was the coupons, maybe part was the *order* the coupons were put in:

    - Sally Hansen gel strips mini starter kit
    - Box of gel strips in Pretty n Poppy
    - WET N WILD POP ART!!! in
---- A Regular at the Factory
    ---- Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up!
    ---- Three's a Party

    Total spent? $8 AND CHANGE!

AND that doesn't take into account that I was credited for $10 total in UP Rewards. That is INSANE!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Finally found a Rite Aid with the starter kit! My BOGO coupon scanned fine, but the cashier had some trouble with the $10 coupon (didn't scan). She read the fine print and did the $10 coupon manually. On my receipt, it says the $5 UP rewards is loaded to my card.

    Thank you so much, G!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Does anyone know if these coupons will work anywhere besides Rite Aid? We don't have any Rite Aid's near me. Thank you!
