Spotted: Another Maybelline Summer 2013 Collection display (MYSTERY SOLVED)

You might recall that yesterday I posted a reader-submitted question about a mysterious new beige Color Tattoo shade that was spotted recently. Well thanks to three lovely readers, we can officially declare that the mystery has been solved! I now have all of the details for you about this shade, and so much more (swatches!).

Let's begin by explaining that there is a FOURTH Maybelline Limited Edition Summer 2013 display now hitting stores (here's the first one, which contains six new LE Color Tattoos, and here's the second, which contains six new LE Color Show polishes. There is also a display that contains all-matte powder bronzers and a face illuminator here. if you missed them).

A huge thanks to reader Nicole for sharing pics of this fourth display, which she just spotted at Fred Meyer (retail chain exclusive to the Pacific Northwest):

Keep reading for more pics, swatches and info!

With the exception of the The Rocket Mascara (click here for my review of this mascara) all of the products in this display are new:

Nicole confirmed that the shade names for these Color Whispers are: Nude Shimmer, Ravishing Pink, I Crave Coral and Sienna Sands. NOTE: I do not know if these are Limited Edition or if they're new additions to permanent collection.

Nicole confirmed that these two additional Color Tattoo shades also have "limited edition" printed on the safety seals (like the first six I showed you here) and the shades are: 10 Precious Pearl and 15 Blue Paradise.

Nicole also confirmed that the Color Show polishes are also marked "limited edition" and the shades are: Sandstorm and Turquoise Paradise.

So the mystery has been SOLVED! The permanent shade, 10 Fierce & Tangy,  which also shares the same number as Precious Pearl (10) probably isn't going anywhere. Maybelline just issued the same number to the Limited Edition shade. Those of you who are fans of Fierce & Tangy can breath a sigh of relief!

But that's not all!

Reader Murasaki_Neko, who also spotted this display at her local Fred Meyer, was nice enough to share some swatches and helpful comparisons of these two additional limited edition Color Tattoos. Check it out:

Limited Edition Color Tattoos in 35 Cool Crush and 15 Blue Paradise

Murasaki_Neko was nice enough to photograph Blue Paradise next to Cool Crush (above) which is from the first group of LE Color Tattoos I posted about here. As you can see, as with many of these new LE Color Tattoos, Blue Paradise is also a duochrome.

Barely Branded (permanent) and Precious Pearl (limited edition)

Murasaki_Neko was also nice enough to compare the permanent shade Barely Branded next to Precious Pearl (above).

Murasaki_Neko writes:

...Precious Pearl is certainly cooler toned than Barely Branded, but I never got Barely Beige [Barely Beige was part of the Limited Edition Fall 2012 Fashion Week Collection -G.] so I have no idea how it compares to that. Precious Pearl also seems a little more reflective than Barely Branded, and pearly, as the name implies...Blue Paradise is sort of like Cool Crush with a blue base. They do look pretty similar on the eye, since Blue Paradise is a little sheer. I haven't played around with them too much, so maybe layering could bring out the blue more.

Murasaki_Neko also shared some swatches:

And right as I was about to publish this post, longtime reader peaisms emailed me pics of the four new Color Whispers. Talk abut great timing! Her photos:

Peasims writes:

Color Whispers are #250 (Nude Shimmer (far left)), #255 (Ravishing Pink), #260 (I Crave Coral), #265 (Sienna Sands (far right)).  The colors are a little brighter in the photos than they are in the tube because of the flash (in the tube they are a little deeper in color and more neutral).

As Peaisms mentioned, these tubes don't say "Limited Edition" on the labels, so I'm not sure if they're LE or if they're new additions to the core line.

To summarize: there are a total of EIGHT new Limited Edition Color Tattoos and EIGHT new Limited Edition Color Show polishes in the Maybelline Summer 2013 Collection. There are also four new Color Whispers in the Maybelline Summer 2013 Collection (again, I'm not sure if these are limited edition or new additions to the core line). And there are also some Limited Edition matte bronzers and a face illuminator in this collection.

I've heard from some of you this week who said that, in addition to Bed Bath & Beyond (and Fred Meyer), this collection is now starting to pop up at Rite Aid, so keep on checking. Hopefully these will pop up at Walgreens, CVS, Target and Ulta very soon too! Also, check back very soon for my review of the first six LE Color Tattoos, which I recently purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond.

I want to give another extra-special thanks to Nicole, Murasaki_Neko and Peaisms for all of the information contained in this post. I can't express to you how much I appreciate you all taking the time to "solve the mystery" for us by providing such detailed information and photos!

    1. Stopped in FM tonight...I saw the display, but all the color tattoos were GONE except for one Shady Shores and one Waves of White, both of which I had. On the plus side, I did find the L'Oreal summer display and grabbed the LE infallible eyeshadows, so it wasn't a complete waste of a trip. :)

  13. I have to say that I really dislike the colored caps for the Color Whisper lippies. You can't really see what the color of the product is, so people are taking off the covers (me included :-( ) to see the color and then nicking the lipstick. I hope they fix this somehow.

  17. Blue Paradise looks very much like Light in Purple, which we have here in Europe, and that ones permanent.

These weird Maybelline market decisions are getting on my nerves!

  20. Found these in cvs and had to pick up precious pearl the whispers looked nice but only grabbed nude shimmers...and i skipped on the nail polish. Also i found the wet n wild spring collection here and grabbed both :) lucky day for me i guess

  21. @Alondra, does Nude Shimmers add a noticeable amount of color? I passed on it and got Sienna Sands only because even though I loved the color of Nude Shimmers, I had a strong feeling it would be clear. Also, does anyone have Ravishing Pink? I compared it to Lust for Blush in store and they look nearly identical. After the whole LE fuchsia from the Fall collection being ridiculously close to the permanent fuchsia, I've been cautious about colors from Maybelline that look pretty identical, lol.

    1. @Nikki, I just got Ravishing Pink and it is identical to Lust for Blush.

    2. @Heather - thanks for the info! :) I had a feeling it was identical and Lust for Blush is almost too cool-toned for my skin, so I definitely didn't need the same color again.
