There are many ways to earn Balance Rewards points throughout the store each week, and I highlight the special beauty-related points offers in green in my Weekly Drugstore Makeup Sale posts. Usually you have to purchase specific items to get extra points on purchases, so this 2-day-only promotion is a great deal since you can buy practically anything to get 5,000 points.
Am happy that walgreens finally got a rewards program!
ReplyDeleteThey had a rewards program until January. This is a revamped version.
DeleteMelody: actually, that program was only in limited test markets. For the majority of the US, this program is brand new and the first one we've ever had access to at Walgreens.
DeleteI didn't realize I was in a test market. I thought it was everywhere. Well, that explains why they had it for a short period of time. When I signed up for my new card they already had for information in the system. The program I tested had different rewards. So, I guess they decided to scrap that.
DeleteAlso, I read Michaels has a reward card but it's being tested in only few states now. I saw it on a blog and wondered why the stores here didn't have it. Now I know why.
Thanks.
I was in a Walgreens the other day. On an endcap in the cosmetics department they had a special display of pink breast cancer awareness items. It included the Essie polishes, two new scents of Method handsoap, a display of Sinful Colors polishes, and I can't remember what all else. Anyway if you spent a certain amount from this display, I want to say it was $25, the sign said you would get X number of bonus points on your card. I want to say 5,000 points but I could be wrong. Anyway, I'm wondering if these two promotions would overlap. Like if you spent $30 in that display would you get the 5,000 points twice I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it works that way, but it wouldn't hurt to ask a cashier, just to be safe! :)
DeleteHow many points do you normally get for a purchase? Also...ARGH! I went to Walgreens today looking for the ELF Disney palettes, not there, but bought two of the Sally Hansen Lustre Shine nail polishes. I haven't signed up for the rewards card yet, but if I had seen this I would have and would have gotten a couple more things to get the 5000 points. I completely forgot they have a card now, I wish the cashier had asked me if I wanted to sign up.
ReplyDeleteOooh, try to sign up soon because you actually don't get the weekly sale discounts anymore unless you have a card!
DeleteYou can sign up online in a snap and use your phone number when making purchases. The one thing I don't like about the points is you only seem to get them for certain items.
DeleteYep, I bought the 3 elf palettes yesterday and got my 5,000 points! Just added my marker to the map with some EXTRA info ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm a little confused with Walgreens. Mine had the cards last year and decided to stop them so everyone get the same prices. Now they bring them back.
