A few years ago when I was at Scent Bar in Los Angeles, I sniffed around for hours and finally settled on this lovely fragrance by Gendarme. It cost me a small fortune, but it was so worth it considering that I adore clean, green fragrances.
Well, the other day I was at Walgreens and happened upon a display for Jennifer Aniston's fragrance:

So guess what? The Jennifer Aniston fragrance instantly reminded me of the Gendarme fragrance. So much so that I sprayed some on my wrist, ran home, and compared it to my beloved Gendarme.
The verdict? They are nearly identical. Sure, there are some nuanced differences, but I was so surprised by the similarities that I had to share it with you!
(NOTE: the retail of Gendarme is $75 for 4 oz. I realize that this breaks down to $18.75 per ounce, which means that it's actually more economical to purchase the Gendarme fragrance since the 1.0 oz bottle of Jennifer Aniston retails for $34.99 at Walgreens. However, if you cannot find Gendarme in your area, and you can catch Jennifer Aniston on sale and have Register Rewards, etc., it might turn out to be a better deal since you won't have to pay for shipping. Just wanted to throw that out there!)

I bought this for my Mom for Christmas and shes didnt like it. I love it. I might buy it for myself. I just got Lilly Pullitzers Beachy at TJ Max and it reminds me of Jens perfume. Give it a sniff if you get a chance.

ReplyDeleteI actually wanted to try it and bought the rollerball from Sephora for $18 and fell in love with it. I just saw it at Target a couple weeks ago and purchased it there. The 1oz is selling for $29.99 plus it had a .25oz mini bottle attached for free! I also got 5% off my purchase for having a Target card.
