On a regular week day, how many makeup products do you require to get ready in the morning (NOT counting skincare)?
For a "typical work face", I require about nine products. Concealer, powder foundation, eyebrow pencil, eye primer, eyeshadow (one or two shades), eyeliner, mascara, blush and lipstick (or lipstain).
Of course, if I want to look extra pretty on a particular day, I'll use face primer, a highlighter/illuminator and maybe a gloss on top of my lipstick. So on those days my total would be 12 products. How about you?
5 products - BB cream as primer, mineral foundation, eye primer, eye shadow, mascara - I usually skip blush but occasionally I may apply it
ReplyDeleteHmm...have to list them to count them! Concealer, foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipcolor. So...6!
ReplyDeleteA lot.... But only because I think it's fun! I don't feel like I "need" all that I wear. But primer, concealer, foundation, powder, Mac paint pot, eyeshadow, mascara, brow gel, bronzer, blush, some sort of lip balm, and lipstick. I also don't always use all of this. It depends on my mood!
ReplyDelete9 for me too: foundation or concealer, powder, blush, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lip balm & lipstick or gloss.
ReplyDeleteOn a normal day: moisturizer, so 1. If I feel like doing the face: moisturizer, primer, foundation, powder, eye primer, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss makes 9.
ReplyDeleteFirst oil control primer, my concoction of cetaphil lotion and revlon colorstay foundation, under eye concealer, powder, blush, bronzer in the summer, usually 2 eyeshadows, eyeliner and mascara. And my bottle of urban decay setting spray just ran out, but usually that too. 11 ish products give or take. When I wanna look really fancy its probably like 30 hahaha!
ReplyDeleteQuite a few, but it depends since sometimes I will use a few different primers, eyeshadows, concealers or eyeliners together to get the effect I want. If I group them together in categories "normal" is about 10. If I split them out to individual products it's more like 15-20. I did a quick job yesterday that was only 6, but I admit it did not last anywhere near as long as usual. I would rather take the time once in the morning than be touching up all day or have it look nasty by dinner.
ReplyDeleteI'm very curious as to what you use especially as far as "a few different primers." I have a hard time getting my makeup to last all day and i seem to have trouble with primers--they tend to make my skin flake (even the "hydrating" one's).
DeleteAs for a typical "work" face in this makeup-optional town: normally it is tinted moisturizer, a few concealers, powder, blush, and brow pencil. Mascara and/or lipstick & lipliner if I want to feel pretty. If I have to make an impression, then eyeliner(s), eyeshadow (at least 3), bronzer, contouring powder, primer, setting spray, and replace TM with liquid foundation.
I have combination very oily to flaky dry skin, which is also prone to acne and especially blackheads. It has gotten a lot better though since I started using sulfate free cleanser only occasionally (about 3x a week) and evoo to remove my makeup and moisturize. My flakes are gone, and I am actually less oily than before. I really think a lot of my problem was extremely dry skin, which was overcompensating with oil. My acne and blackheads have only gotten better and better.
DeleteAnyway, I remove my makeup with evoo and simply wipe the excess off with a tissue (make sure it is not the kind with lotion). So I do not use a moisturizer in the am, unless I wash my face then I use evoo sparingly. I start with MOM (milk of magnesia) which is amazing for oil control. Then primer which depends on what I am putting on for foundation, usually Black Radiance Complexion Perfection (which has clay for oil absorption) if I am using a more moisturizing foundation (like my BB cream), if I am using a more dry foundation I will put the BR primer on my oily areas and use Rimmel pro primer everywhere else. Then I use the Garnier tinted undereye roller on my entire eye, I have a lot of darkness around my eyes, as well as any other areas of redness or pigmentation. I have some hyper-pigmentation left over from pregnancy, and some hormonal redness on my cheeks, forehead, chin, mouth, and nose. I consider this kind of a "concealer primer". Then foundation etc (let me know if you want details). I also use ELF eye primer. My makeup does last all day and I live in S. Louisiana so it is hot and humid almost all year, plus I'm outside a lot. I simply do not have time to fuss with it, doing touchups etc. all day so I had to find a routine that works to keep everything presentable.
I know I always say this, but the black radiance primer is THE BEST face primer for oily skin. It's the only face primer I use. :)
DeleteI've been really lazy lately so it's been concealer, foundation, powder, mascara, and lipstick. 5 products.
ReplyDeleteI live in hot and humid Florida so everything melts off my face! Even primers are too heavy and sticky for South Florida. So, sadly, I only use Revlon Age Defying Concealor SPF 27 to cover tons of acne hyperpigmentation.
ReplyDeleteMinimum? 1 — just eyeliner. Maximum? eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, lip product, maybe bronzer. So 5. On average though, I'd say 2. I don't wear any face products (like foundation or concealer) or primers, so that cuts down a lot of it for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't wear make up to work often because at 4 am, who can think about that, right? LOL!
ReplyDeleteOn a normal "I think I'll make an effort today" day, my number is 6: foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow and lip stain or gloss. Unless you want to count moisturizer and primers ... but I don't really think those count. ;)
When I go all out ... I guess the count pretty much stays as is, but the number of each item expands. Instead of a pale 1 shade sweep of shadow, I go all out with colorful eyes and a couple different shades of liner.
Good question, lemme count as I list them.
ReplyDeleteFace primer
Foundation
Powder
3 eyeshadows
eyeliner
Either a blush, bronzer or highlight.
Sooo eightish, daily.
But My minimum could be just 4 things(foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner), but don't do that unless I'm REALLY strained on time.
Great Question! Foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, mascara, eye primer, paint pot, blush, MSF, bronzer and lipstick! Yikes 10!! Yet doesn't feel like it! LOL -Leslie
ReplyDeleteOn most days, because I'm a procrastinator, I use about 5 products. 1. Tinted moisturizer 2. Concealer 3. Blush 4. Mascara 5. Eyebrow pencil and spooly. I've just recently moved to a more humid part of Canada and the summers here are sweaty and sticky so I'll probably be adding 6. primer 7. setting powder. Or I'll just invest in a setting spray for oily skin. Eye makeup is more of a special event/ocassion thing for me.
ReplyDeleteOpps.... Forget to add tinted lip balm. So that makes 6 on a normal day.
ReplyDeleteTinted moisturizer, powder foundation, concealer, highlighter (this has become a daily thing for me!), eyeshadow used on lid and as liner, mascara, tinted lip balm... *drum roll* ... seven!
ReplyDeleteBB Cream, concealer, setting powder, eyelid primer, eyeliner pencil, eyeliner liquid/gel, eye shadow (3-5 colors), mascara (at least 2 formulas), long-wear lip color and it's top coat, lip gloss, powder blush, gel blush, liquid highlighter, eyebrow pencil/powder (usually 2 to 3 brands), eyebrow setting gel, makeup finishing spray.
ReplyDeleteThat's 16. Cheesy Rice, no wonder I am running late to work almost everyday.
Primer, concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer, blush, eye shadow, eye liner and mascara…. nine! I don't really do much with my lips, typically just some chapstick later on in the day.
ReplyDeleteFoundation, eye primer, two eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, powder, and lipbalm. Wow, 10 products.
ReplyDeleteConcealer, foundation, blush, eye primer, eye shadow (sometimes), eye liner, lip balm then on the way to work lipgloss. I used to just do powder, eyeliner, sometimes blush and then something on my lips. Aaaahh! Only takes me between 5 to 10 min though.
ReplyDeleteOnly 6...Brow pencil, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, blush and lipgloss!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! It can sound like a lot but since I use the same items every day, I have it down to about 15 min for makeup time. I counted 11 and that's counting eyebrow powder and the wax separately. Sometimes I will use an illuminating powder or bronzer and I may wear lipstick AND gloss together. But I do have the minimalist routine: mascara, foundation, blush.
ReplyDeleteMy face goes commando, aside from some Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock. (No, it does not look good. Bright side: at holiday parties I get the "OMG, *that's* what you look like with makeup?!")
ReplyDeleteprimer, foundation, concealer, setting powder, bronzer, highlighter, blush, eye primer, eye shadow palette, eye liner, 2 different mascaras, lipstick, and gloss. so 13. but if i decide to do something different with my eyes it can be more products
ReplyDelete9: eyeliner, 3 eye shadows, makeup to cover rosacea on cheeks, blush, mascara, brow gel, lip gloss.
ReplyDeleteMakeup is more of a hobby for me. I usually wear only mascara.
ReplyDeletefoundation
ReplyDeleteconcealer
finishing powder
blush
highlighting powder
eyebrow powder
mascara
lipbalm
lipstick
dang, seems like so much. it actually takes quite a few products to look "naturally flawless". ha!
eyeliner, foundation, setting powder, eyebrow (pencil) and blush!
ReplyDeletefive items on a daily :)
if i want to look extra pretty, i'll add shadow and mascara hehe :)
Five! That sounds so impressive, amazing that it doesn't feel like that. Concealer, eyebrow pencil, liquid eyeliner, mascara and lip balm.
ReplyDeleteGranted, I have (mostly) well behaved skin, and I'm twenty-two. Oh, and lazy.
Milk of magnesia to stop my oil from ruining my make up, primer, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, contour, liner, mascara, brow pencil, brow gel, and something on the lips. If I have time then I will add eye shadow primer and some eye shadow, but normal days I don't. Yikes that makes 12!

ReplyDeletebasic school days:
ReplyDeletetoner, lotion, sunblock, primer, concealer, foundation, setting powder, chapstick...8! the face is most important! :)
girl's night out/date nights:
toner, lotion, sunblock, primer, concealer, foundation, setting powder, bronzer, blush, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow primer, numerous eyeshadow colors, cream eyeliner, liquid eyeliner on top of that (if i'm feeling EXTRA fancy), kohl eyeliner on the waterlines(EXTRA extra fancy!) mascara primer, mascara, lipstick, and lipgloss (depending on if the lipstick needs 'enhancement')...so 19 in total?! yikes haha! but i swear, it doesn't look like it! :p

Let's see, my usual routine takes about 15-20 minutes but I can get it down to 10 or so.
ReplyDeleteOn my lazy days I just wear about 4; concealer, powder, bronzer and mascara but I prefer a full face especially for work. Those days consist of concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer, blush, eye primer, 2 shadows, eyebrow powder, liner, mascara, lipstick and gloss. It sounds like so much but I honestly don't feel like it is. :-)
On a lazy day, I would wear about 4-5 just to not feel naked in public, but my preference would be a polished face for work and/or other functions. Typically I wear concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer, blush, eye primer, 2 shadows, brow filler, liner, mascara, lipstick and gloss. So thats 13, I believe; sounds like a lot but it's not!
ReplyDeleteIt's always 6 products every morning in this order: eyeliner, foundation as a spot concealer, blush, translucent powder, brow gel/color, and lip gloss.

ReplyDeleteLately it's been the following: BB cream, correcting powder, and lip balm. If I want to be extra pretty that day, I'll take the time to conceal, curl lashes and use mascara, and finish off with lipbutter.
ReplyDeleteI'm not skilled enough to do eye shadows or eyeliners and make it look not awkward.
Hmmm... lets see! I use about 12/13 products on a daily basis and thats minus eyeshadow lol! I always use primer because my skin can be very oily then I use my eye roller, foundation (not everyday but majority of days), concealer, eyebrow powder, eyebrow gel, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, mascara, and lipbalm/lipstick/gloss (depends on my mood).
ReplyDeleteOh, boy - here we goooooo!
ReplyDeleteHard Candy Primer, foundation, concealer, blush and bronzer, at least 3 eyeshadows, eyebrow pencil, eyebrow mascara (clear), eyeliner, lipstain, lipstick, lipgloss, illuminating finishing powder. So, on the average 15!
Hmm, I've never thought of it before but let me list it out:
ReplyDeleteConcealer, powder foundation (PF Healthy Wear!), blush, eye shadow (1-2 colors), eyeliner, coordinating eye shadow to set the eye liner, mascara, eyebrow powder, and tinted lip balm = 9 in total. Didn't realized I used so many!
Urban Decay Pocket Rocket in Kirk while in sitting at a stop light. Sometimes I get fancy and add some mascara lol. I'd rather sleep.
ReplyDelete13 and I still feel naked interesting question. Had never counted until today.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to wear makeup less often, but on a given day I'm usually wearing tinted moisturizer, concealer, powder, and lipstick. Sometimes I'll skip the tinted moisturizer, which narrows it down to three! I take forever with concealer, though, which leads me to believe that a foundation might save me some time. Good question. x
ReplyDeleteLet's see....face primer, foundation, 3 different concealers, powder, eye primer, 2-3 eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, brow pencil, blush and lipgloss. Somedays I'll add bronzer and a highlighter. So, 11-13.
