In honor of my blog's 3rd birthday, I wanted to do something a bit different with this week's question. Since I tend to receive questions from readers on a regular basis, I thought this would be a fun way to answer some of them!
Do you have a beauty-related question you'd like to ask ME?
It can be anything from "What's your current favorite eyeshadow primer?" to "Do you have any suggestions for foundations for oily skin?" or anything else you might like to know.
At the end of the week, I'll select 10 questions from this post and answer them in an upcoming blog post. If I select your question, I'll of course give you a shout-out in my blog post!
So...ask away!
NOTE: any questions I consider bizarre, inappropriate or not pertaining to beauty will NOT be approved.
You, of course, love and enjoy drugstore beauty products, but how often do you buy high end beauty products / how often do you wear high end beauty products? What makes a high end beauty product worth it to you?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.... I have to ask a nail polish question, since that's my thing ;0). What's your favorite spring collection?
ReplyDeleteHow can I pick out the appropriate shade/color of foundation for my skin? I have no idea how to tell if I am cool, warm, or neutral.
ReplyDeleteOne interesting way I have heard is to put on a gold ring and a silver one (or any other jewelry item, even fabric) and see which looks best with your skin. Gold=warm, silver=cool, both=neutral. Another is to look at the veins on the underside of your wrist... if they look more green you are warm, more purple you are cool, and blue you are neutral.
DeleteMy question is what is your favorite combination of drugstore "basic face" products; primer, foundation, concealer, powder, etc... I have such a hard time finding drugstore foundations and concealers that work for me and look natural, and when you add powder into the mix, it's just downhill from there! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the scariest beauty product you've used/tried? I'm curious cause mine would have to be a battery operated eyelash curler to heat the part where it curls the lashes. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteYour eye looks are amazing - consistently impressed! How do you apply your (top lid) eyeliner? No matter the product, your line is always perfect and smooth from one corner to the other. Do you tug your eye from the side? Mine always ends up looking lumpy/bumpy no matter what formulation/brand I use (including high end.) Thank you for your incredible site!
ReplyDeleteWhat is your ALL TIME FAVORITE drugstore concealer? I've been needing a new one and was wondering which ones were good.

I want to know about the high end makeup, too!
ReplyDeleteAlso — I would love to know your favorite products of all time in all the categories (color and brand). Lipstick, lip gloss, nail polish, etc. I know a few things that are your HG, but not all!
This post is from last year, but a lot of these are still favorites:

Hope that helps, and thanks for asking! :)
Daily sunscreen of choice? TY
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think is the most overrated/overhyped makeup product (high end or low end)?
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe you could do one of these FAQ/questionnaire things for personal (not too personal!)/fun questions, too. I always find it interesting and cool to get to know the bloggers a little bit outside of their blogging lives. Just an idea, though!
You're very sweet to want to know more about me on a personal level. :) If you go to the Categories Section on my blog (right hand sidebar), you can look for the category called ”Tags” and you'll see that I've answered lots of fun, non-beauty-related questions in those posts. :)
DeleteAlso, would you ever consider making Youtube beauty videos?
ReplyDeleteAnother question: what are some of your favorite moisturizers? Looking for something for anti-aging. Want to start early!
ReplyDeleteIf you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring ONE nail polish with you, what would it be?
ReplyDeleteHi G. - Hope your Mom & Dad are doing well and getting stronger every day.
ReplyDeleteYou provide reviews for many different types of products during any given week. My question for you is what is
your favorite type of product to test, review and blog about and why?
Thank you so much for saying that about my parents. :) They are both doing SO much better and it means the world to me that you asked. *hugs*
DeleteI hear a lot about orange being a hot color this year, so hear is my question (and I would love a demo) - how does one do ones make up around orange/coral lipstick? How would you do your eyes, cheeks? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI would love a post about how to tell what coloring you are--warm, cool, neutral, like Tara said. Also, maybe something about your eye/hair color and what products look good with that. Absolutely love your blog, G.! (:
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know what your favorite high end beauty item it. I know this blog is about drugstore buys--and I LOVE it for that--but I'd be curious to know if there is anything high end that you can't live without. Thanks for your amazing blog! I thoroughly enjoy reading it and have come to consult it before making a purchase!
ReplyDeleteI would like to know your favorite way to store products where you can actually see what you have instead of digging through a drawer or stack. I have very little counter space and this has been a problem for me, especially as my collection has grown.
ReplyDeleteAlready asked a question, but here's another - hope that's okay :-D
ReplyDeleteThis is a blog question, not a beauty question - how much time do you spend blogging per week? Including testing products, swatching, photography, writing up coupon deals, twitter, responding to emails, writing up posts, responding to comments, and everything that I'm not thinking of! I'm sure it's a HUGE time commitment - and I'm pretty sure you have a day job too - but I'm curious about how much time it takes. Clearly it's a labor of love!
<3
I love this question!
DeleteMe too! Excellent question!
DeleteDo you paint your toes? What is your all-time favorite perfume? When you travel, do you take a lot of makeup/beauty stuff or, to you pair it down a lot?
ReplyDeleteHello G!! Happy 3rd Year Blogger-Versary!! ;) My question for you is....How old were you when you started wearing makeup? What were the products you started with? Was it your Mom or other family member you turned to for the how to tricks? Hope all is well with you and your family! <3
ReplyDeleteHow long is makeups shelf life!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one, I feel like some of my products don't seem bad to even toss out when they say 6 months
DeleteWhat is the best foundation that won't make you look like a ghost in pictures?
ReplyDeleteHi G! I was wondering what you do with products you don't want/need anymore. I am a bit of a beauty junkie and my collection is getting too big. I feel bad throwing it away. Advice from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks!
ReplyDeletedo you know what products the brand Milani is going to discontinue this year? I saw you made a post about wet and wild soon to be discontinued products and was wondering if you knew anything for milani. I recently just got into milani for the first time during the 75% off sale at CVS and i'm in love with their products now!
ReplyDeleteHow did you first get into make up and how did you learn what looks good on you? Did you have any make up mentors?
ReplyDeleteI have a question! How does one chose a blush? I mean, it should complement ones skin tone right? But how do I know this? I've heard the old "pinch your cheeks, then try to chose that color" but haven't really had any luck there. So I usually just chose based on what color I find attractive in the pan (usually cool blueish pinks, which I am afraid aren't the best for my warm, golden undertone skin! Should I be getting peachy colors?!?) I've only recently started using blush at all and don't really know what I'm getting into. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! :D My question is what is your favorite beauty era? Like 20s, 50s, 80s, something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat drugstore brand serum is a decent dupe for Lancome's Visionnaire?
ReplyDelete(totally obsessed with your blog btw)
What drugstore Foundation do you recommend for oily skin?! :) Thanks so much!
