I am always excited when Maybelline launches a new mascara, so I want to thank two lovely Canadian readers for the great scoop on this one. I don't know when this is going to launch in the US, but it's something to keep on our radar!

I suspect that Illegal LENGTH is not a reboot, but rather an entirely new product (of course I could be wrong though). Here's a close-up, thanks to reader Chynna:

Thanks so much, LMC1971 and Chynna, for the great scoop!
Hopefully this will turn up in the US soon. Canadian readers: have you spotted/tried this one out yet? Thoughts?
Am I the only person that's disturbed by the use of false lashes in a mascara ad? I watched that vintage Revlon mascara comercial, and I believe the model actually used the masacra on camera LOL...ah I miss the old days.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm done ranting...Thank you so much for these exciting new product posts! You rock G!
Thanks for the credit, G! Hope the new Illegal Length mascara's the same formula as the original.
ReplyDeleteI kinda think this is going to be L'Oreal False Fiber Lashes (which I love, btw) in different packaging.
ReplyDeleteRather random comment, but it really annoys me when mascaras make all these claims about enhancing natural eyelashes when it is so obvious that the model in the ads is wearing false lashes. There is no way I believe those lashes in the photo on that display are natural - special extension mascara or not!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this is the same product or something different with an old name put on it as well.
ReplyDeleteAbout the ad. I don't like the use of false lashes in an ad for mascara either. You can actually see where the real lashes end. I've noticed that on tv as well.
When did that trend start?
im so glad that fiber mascaras are popping up at drugstores. buying a kiss me mascara at $20-ish was getting too expensive. i hope other co's jump on this bandwagon :)
ReplyDeleteThis is exciting. Looks interesting and like something I would love to try. Right now I'm loving the Loreal False Fiber Lash mascara.
ReplyDeleteHoly Schmokes!! Those aren't just false lashes - those are paint brushes!! Jeebus... who do they think they're kidding? Tho, I have to say, years ago I used a revlon mascara with fibers in it that I really liked, so I'll probably try this when it comes into this area... I think I won't be surprised when my lashes don't look as advertised tho... :)
ReplyDeleteI hate that the so obviously use fake lashes in their adds and commercials! It is so annoying, but it is a trend I have seen all brands fall into!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am in need of a new mascara and maybe this is the one for me to try next!
OMG!!! Please let this be coming to the states!!
ReplyDeleteDidn't they make a mascara called Illegal Lengths a few years back? They ran out of new names or something? I am also on the "sick of fake lashes being used to sell us on mascara" bandwagon. There are mascaras that give great results but the only way we can tell is by looking at before-after shots on blogs. The companies themselves seem content on lies/exaggeration/false advertising. It's a shame, really.
ReplyDeletecoco_fiere: I actually mentioned the original AND included a photo of it in this post. lol! Sorry you missed that. :)
ReplyDeleteI just purchased this at my local CVS, so I can say it has made it to the Washington, DC area. I came online looking for reviews before I try it.
ReplyDeleteI saw this at Kmart today and it was 40% and...I didn't buy it. I was stocking up on my fave Lash Stilletto but now I am regretting it. Maybe i'll go back.
ReplyDeleteOh and in case anyone is curious, I am in SoCal.
I use this mascara. It's just ok. It gives some length to my lashes but nothing to write home about. O_O
