It feels like we were just talking about the return of the Pumpkin Polishes when along comes the Snowmen, back for another year of drugstore fun! If you're unfamiliar with the Snowmen polishes, they can be found at Rite Aid and I believe other drugstores as well. I actually was working on this post before my dad had his surgery, so I apologize if this has been blogged about like crazy in my absence, but hey, they're still new to me!
Looking at last year's Snowman collection, which you can see here, it appears that a few of the colors from last year are back again this year, but not the holographic polish. This year, there are brighter, bolder shades and a few new glitters. Later on in this post, I'll show you the glitter polish that I bought, with an in-depth comparison to other glitters I own.
Snowman Nail Polishes
(retail: $1.99 each)
None of these polishes have names.
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you can probably figure out which polish I purchased. You KNOW I had to have that multi-colored glitter! I'm totally obsessed with Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday dupes, and even though I knew this wasn't going to be a dupe, it's still a multi-colored, very festive glitter polish that had my name all over it.
So let's see how it compares to all of the other multi-colored glitters in my collection:
Whoever said, "You've seen one multi-colored glitter polish, you've seen them all" clearly hasn't seen close-up swatches of these babies! Each of these glitter polishes has its own distinct pattern:
Look closely at Wet n Wild Correction Tape vs. the Snowman polish in this photo.
Did you look closely at those two polishes like I asked above? OK, good! Get this: the Snowman glitter is like a mini version of Wet n Wild Correction Tape! Seriously, scroll up and look at the close-up swatches again. Both polishes contain square and hexagonal glitter in roughly the same colors! The only difference is that the size of the Snowman glitter is much smaller.
So in other words, the Snowman Glitter polish is like a "Mini Me" version of Wet n Wild Correction Tape. How fun!
Here's a macro shot of two coats of Snowman on my thumb:
Compare that with my original swatch of Correction Tape:
Do you see what I mean? It's the same square and hex glitter (minus a few extra blue particles; Correction Tape is heavy on teal blue) but just smaller.
So if you can't find the On The Prowl collection and you were really hoping to get Correction Tape, this Snowman polish might tide you over. It's not chunky glitter, but it's square and hex and super cute!
Have you spotted the Snowman polishes in your area yet? If so, have you purchased any shades?
Some of the polishes featured in this post were given to Nouveau Cheap for previous reviews.

I'd love to name them!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe, I'll find some in Denver at Christmas time since they have Rite Aids there and not in Orlando.
I spotted them already, and I only wanted the red and green glitter polish. I plan to wear it over gold, silver, and white polishes.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so darn adorable. I definitely have to find them.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the Pumpkin and Snowman polishes are not to be found anywhere in my area. *sigh* I see several that I would love to snap up, if they were. :)
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteA question, how do you get polish line between your cuticle & base of your nail so perfectly?
Thanks much.
P.S> glad your Dad is back in business! :-)
I did see these yesterday at Rite Aid and thought of you! I am not sure I need another snowman polish...but it I do I am thinking that it will bet the green and red glitter. Thanks for the swatches! P.S.- G. have you or any of your friends had a Prince Harry sighting? LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I feel another trip to Rite Aid coming on! These are just so stinkin cute!!
ReplyDeleteThose snowmen are just too cute! My collection is definitely heavy on mutlicolored glitters (any glitter, really), but I'd love to get my paws on Tasmanian Devil...I've never seen the Confetti brand in my area.
ReplyDeleteI literally flew out of my chair when I saw this post to jump in the shower so I'd have time to stop at Rite Aid before I picked my daughter up from school. I didn't even read the entire post! Once I got to the store I had to pull it up to see if you had swatched anything. I wound up buying the red and green glitter and the silver.
ReplyDeleteI missed out on these last year, so I've been keeping an eye out. I found them at a rite aid in Old Town. (I'm a San Diegoan, too.)
