One of my dearest friends sent me a bunch of fun nail polishes a while back, and I thought it would be fun to do a two-tone look using two of the bright Rimmel polishes she gave to me. Taking inspiration from the scotch tape master herself, the amazing Chloe, I came up with this design:
Rimmel Sunset Orange
Rimmel Posh Pink
My camera has a difficult time capturing bright colors, so Posh Pink isn't coming across as the true hot pink it is in real life. But that said, the photos taken outside (the last two photos above) are pretty close. What I like about this combo is that, from a distance, you can't really tell I'm wearing two colors on my nails. You sort of have to look closely, and I like that type of subtly, especially since each shade is so bright on its own.
I've said it before but I think it deserves repeating: I LOVE Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro brushes! They are flat and wide, but not too wide, and the tip of the brush is rounded so beautifully--it really makes painting your nails a snap and I find I have very little clean-up required (if any at all) whenever I use a Rimmel polish.
Posh Pink is a true creme polish and it required two coats for perfect opacity. Sunset Orange is a gorgeous orange with a hint of coral to it. It is a jelly and it required three coats for good opacity. In fact, even though I don't own any of the OPI Texas Collection shades, I'm thinking that Sunset Orange may be a nice dupe of OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston. Check out Amber's swatches here if you'd like to see that shade. Of course I don't own the OPI shade so I can't be sure, but if any of you own both shades, please let me know if they're similar?
Do you own any Rimmel polishes? What are you favorite shades?
Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWow this color combo is fab! Was it hard to learn this trick? How many times did it take you to perfect this when you started to work with tape?
